Time away from the Kids

10 August 2007
We had a great time Prague is a beautiful place. The Bellagio is in a fantastic location 5 mins walk to the old town square and 10 mins to the Charles Bridge but far enough away from any noise, so sleeping was not a problem. The rooms were of a very nice standard clean/practical and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The main square is very busy during the day and night fantastic if you like to sit and watch the world go by the U Prince has a fantastic restaurant right in the square waiters can be slow but just relax and enjoy the view. We were there 3 nights and it was sufficient time to see the main things (be sure to do a vintage car tour it was great) will return to prague maybe next time with the kids.

We had a lovely time at the Bellagio. The location was perfect; 5 mins to the old town square and 10 mins to the Charles Bridge but far enough away from any noise, so sleeping was not a problem. The rooms were spotless clean and the staff very friendly and helpfull. We were there 2 nights and the only negative thing to report would have to be breakfast, at times they even ran out of basics such as butter and orange juice. Prague was beautiful and we would definately use the Bellagio again.

We had a fantastic stay in the Hotel Bellagio.  The hotel has an excellent location 5 minutes walk from the Old Town Square.  It's in the designer part of town close to many restaurants and bars.  The rooms are clean and well finished, staff are friendly and helpful.  Although the rooms have great showers it would have been nice to have a bath.  We will definetly stay there again on our next trip to Prague and have already recommended it to our friends.

Stayed at the Hotel Bellagio for four nights. Excellent location, quiet area yet only a five minute walk to the old town square. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The only down side was that the bedroom was on the small side and the curtains could have done with ironing. The bathroom was lovely and spacious, but it would have been nice to have a bath as well as a shower. On the whole a very enjoyable stay and would definately stay at the Bellagio again.

Great Hotel just a 5 minute walk from the Old Town Square and 10 mins from Charles Bridge. Some pleasant little bars and eateries round the corner and a couple of minutes walk to a great Czech restaurant (KALKOVNA) very popular with locals. (Have the'Morovian Sparrow' It's gorgeous!!} BELAGIO - room was very comfortable and well decorated. 6' double mattressed bed and the bathroom looked like it was newly fitted. TV and Minibar (bit expensive £4 large bottle of water!). Breakfasts were very tasty. Good variety and lots of it to set you up for a good walk round the city. Very helpful staff and English speaking. (Like most people we came across in Prague)

An excellent hotel for the money. Very clean, good rooms and en suite shower rooms. Great location, north of the old square, just far enough out of the main tourist runs but easy walking distance to all the main attractions. Full breakfast, not just the continental as advertised. Very helpful english speaking staff. Will be staying there the next time I'm in Prague!

Tip: Ask the hotel to arrange your taxi to and from the airport and avoid the rip off drivers!

15 February 2007
Great location, quiet but close proximity to the square in Old Town, Charles Bridge etc (just a few minutes walk).
Our room was on the 4th floor - it was large, appeared to be newly decorated & very clean. The bathroom was huge & modern.
The restaurant where breakfast is served is in the basement - breakfast not brilliant but certainly adequate.
There is only a small bar which is located in the reception area -not ideal if you like to relax & unwind.
We caught the city service minibus to & from the airport which cost approximately £13.
We did all the usual touristy things but also really enjoyed wandering around the many little backstreets. Everywhere was really clean. The weather was beautiful - about 7 degrees but lots of sunshine. Lots of cafes have outdoor canopies and patio heaters so you can still sit outside & watch the world go by.

Hotel Bellagio was fantastic - cannot fault it in any way. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully clean as was the bathroom. The hotel seems recently renovated and is in a perfect location. It is five minutes walk from the old town square which is most definitely the nicer part of Prague to stay in. Would recommend this hotel to anyone - you cannot go wrong. Breakfast was nice and surroundings again very clean and modern. Thankyou for helping to make our stay so enjoyable. Oh - and the bar round the corner - the Hadona ( i think) has fantastic staff and is very cheap. We spent some enjoyable late afternoons / evenings in there.

Review of 'HOTEL BELLAGIO' - Fantastic!!

03 January 2007
well! what can i say? what a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! Friendly helpful staff, great room, lovely breakfast and their resturant is one of the best in Prauge!

We visited Hotel Bellagio over Christmas for 1 week. It was fantastic, we were so close to the Old town square (5 mins max!) and all the attractions are within walking distance.
We had a gorgeous double bedroom with a generous sized bathroom. The maids cleaned everyday and i could honestly not fault the accomodation.

Breakfast was good, had a selction of cheeses and salad, youghurts and cereal, bacon, sausage, eggs, beans and an array of juices, coffees and teas! The staff were very polite and helpful and if anything ran out theyd bring more out for you immediately.

We also had the chance to visit the resturant in the hotel. Out of all the food we had in Prauge this one came out topps! I reccommend you go here, even if your only visiting for a few days, the effort and presentation is world class and the food is as i said, was fantastic!

Another thing id reccomend are the Boat trips, The hotel arranged the 'Prague river cruise' for us with Martin tours. It was about £30 each but included a large buffet meal, welcome drink and the bar was pretty cheap. it includes a 1 hour tour around the town and then a 3 hour cruise along the river. It was so beautiful seeing the town lit up from the river, definitely good for those romantic people out there and well worth the money.

One thing i will say, just in case it happens to anyone else... we booked a double but when we arrived were told alpharooms had only booked a twin (even though it said double on our confirmation). Id reccommend if you want a double to confirm with the hotel, They were good and did manage to get us a double, but they only have 6 in the whole hotel so next time you may not be so lucky.

That said, this was still a A+ hotel and we will most definitely be returning!

Excellent hotel, very clean, nice breakfast, very friendly staff and in a top location only a 2-3 minute walk to the old town (cannot comment on lack of english tv channels as who wants to sit and watch TV when they're away). Was there during the xmas markets and had a lovely time, booked through alpharooms with no problems and will be returning again next year to the Bellagio.

the Hotel was ideal for the explorer being a short step to the river but also for the old town and market squares.  the staff were welcoming, the rooms clean and warm.  the breakfast was self service and sufficient.  tea and coffee making facilities would have been a bonus, also more english speaking channels on the TV. The hotel will be recommended to friends and colleagues and warrants a return visit.  all the brochures stated Christmas markets start at the end of November and we were disappointed to find they do not start until December but still plenty to see.

We spent three days at this lovely hotel for our Silver Wedding anniversary. The room was on the top (fifth) floor we were very pleased with the size, it was very unusual, it had a high ceiling, with real wood beams (very attractive).
Breakfast was excellent, You could eat as much as you wanted with a choice of hot & cold buffet style. We expected continental, but was suprised that there was Bacon, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, hash browns etc.
The staff were really freindly and could not help us enough.
We recommend staying at this hotel especially booking through Alphrooms as their discount is well worth it.
Prauge itself is a beautiful city, with lots to do and places to visit. We cannot wait to go back. When we do we will be staying at the Bellagio.

Review of 'HOTEL BELLAGIO'

We Stayed at the Bellagio in Mid October. It was a bit of a gamble really because we've never been to Prague before - but wanted to stay fairly close to the Old Town.

The hotel was really well placed, next to the Jewish Quarter - about 150 metres away from the river, near the 'Chechiv Most' bridge.

We travelled from the airport by using the tube - (nearest station was Stratomestsk on the green line / A).  The hotel website gives you details of where to find the hotel on its site - if you can navigate through!

The hotel is a nice shade of pink! The rooms are spacious - with big baths and all the stuff you would expect from a four star hotel - although we didn't get the room pictured on the website!

The staff were friendly and helpful - giving us tips about the areas to see / nice places to eat, and a useful map of Prague. There are some great restaurants near the hotel. The only gripe we had was that the cooked breakfast was virtually gone by the time we got to it! Great place to stay for a short break!

We were very pleased with Bellagio Hotel.  It was very warm and comfortable; our room, a standard double, had a luxurious bathroom with a fantastic shower.  Breakfast was plentiful and there was a wide range of choice.  We found the staff very friendly and helpful, they spoke excellent English, as most non-English seem to!  The hotel is very well situated, only 10 minutes walk to St. Stephen's Square and Charles Bridge.  Also surrounded by beautiful Czek architecture.  We would have no hesitation in recommending Bellagio to anyone who wants a comfortable and relaxing break.  We will definitely use the hotel again.  Thank you alpha rooms for a great recommendation!

This hotel is in a very good location, close to old square,on arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff, they were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room we had on the 3rd floor was a corner room, with 3 windows from one of them you could see the river at the end of the street, the room was warm and comfortable, the only faults we could find was it has a very small bar area(2 seats), and the breakfast, for a four star hotel, seemed to run out of hot food very often, and you had to wait for fresh to be cooked.Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone

This hotel was fabulous, we were greeted with hospitable staff who couldn't do enough for you.  The rooms are welcoming and warm, but with air conditioning if needed.  No tea tray, but we phoned for tea both mornings and were not charged as we were told it was part of breakfast. The rooms were spotless, lovely thick cotton sheets on the beds and fluffy towels in the bathroom.  All public areas were also clean.  Breakfast was more than adequate with a small hot selection which we did not expect for continental breakfast.  The hotel is well located for the river, the old town and the Jewish quarter.  All in all a faultless stay and all of our party had a wonderful stay.  Highly recommended.

Stayed end NOv 2005. Small quality hotel Staff vey friendly. Very convenient for the old town ( 3 mins walk), jewish quarter and even the castle. The rooms are immaculately clean, large and comfortable. The hotel is old and has plenty of character. Not sure its 4* only because it doesnt really have any facilities such as a separate bar etc. Would I stay there again, the answer is YES and I would recommend it providing people dont expect 4* modern facilties like swimming pools etc. I guess there is one small extra that would be nice ie tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I might add that I thought Prague was superb, especially at the time we visted with all the Christmas markets and decorations round the town.

This Hotel deserves the 4 Stars. Staff extremely pleasant and accommodating. Rooms very well presented, with excellent facilities. Buffy style breakfast, food excellent, wide variety of choice both hot and cold. Hotel has a restaurant open in the evenings, both the food and service is excellent. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone wishing to have an enjoyable stay in Prague. Numerous shops and restaurants are a few minutes away and the promenade by the river is around the corner from the Hotel.

This a really wonderful hotel.  Ideally placed 3 minutes walk to Old Town Square and 1 minutes walk to the river.
Me and my husband stayed in room 105.  The good sized and well decorated room had a double bed (very comfortable); a couple of easy chairs and small table; TV; Minibar; safe; couple of bedside tables; wardrobe; few more bits of quality furniture.  The beautifully tiled bathroom had a  large walk in shower; toilet; bidet; basin complimentary toiletries.  All in all a great room.  Hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and spoke good Egnlish.  Good breakfasts in their top restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
