We arrived as independent travellers in the early evening. The staff offered a warm welcome and the check in process was efficient and speedy.
The lift to the 5th floor was rather small and, had we had more than one case then it would have been a squeeze. I understand the hotel was extended recently but they did not update the lift capacity.
The room and bathroom were spotless, well laid out and very well maintained. We had a minor problem with the hair dryer not working, but they very quickly rectified the problem. The hotel itself was clean, smart and very nicely decorated. The bars were very nice and the prices were not too bad considering the quality of the hotel. The only problem was that the `adults only`bar had a few kids sat around and even sat at the bar itself. I found generally that the staff seemed unsure about advising children of their do`s and dont`s as some parents seemed reluctant to do. The pool areas were terrific but the age old problem of sunbed availability reared its ugly head. People would reserve their sunbeds and then go off for a trip out so that they could return early afternoon in to pole position by the pool, and for for those hours the beds were left with nothing but a towel on them.
We prefer to eat out so were just on a B&B tariff. The selection was extensive and very well prepared and presented. We were told by others that all meals were of the same standard.
Across the road is a sports bar, and all though carrying the very British name of the Nag`s Head (complete with Del and Rodney) the beer and food was typically local, but they also catered for the British tastes. 100 yards down the road was the main coast road and within a mile there was a choice of 30 or more restaurants serving a vast variety of dishes from all over. If your tastes are to try local food then the Mezes, Kleftiko, Stifado etc was excellent and plentiful.
The hotel benefits from being about 100metres from the main drag as the road noise from the high powered cars and motorbikes can get irritating as they race each other to an early grave. There are Pelican crosings over to the sea side of the road, but BE WARNED, even if the green man is flashing, do not even attempt to put a foot on the crossing until they have all stopped.
But, back to the hotel, we would certainly go again and would recommend it to others. It was a very good choice and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly.
