Good quality for the money

07 July 2008
3 persons, 4 nights. Room number 42 was small and cozy. Yes there are moldstains in the bathroom but it is mostly cosmetic and didn't disturb my daily showering. Indoor air was musty but since it was summer we kept the windows wide open while being in the room. This could be a problem in the winter. Continental breakfast including croissante, bread, coffee/tea, juice, marmelade/butter and sweet bread. Staff mostly friendly and helpful. Would rate this hotel an 8ish but the fact that the receptionist didn't help us by checking online which terminal we were supposed to arrive to at CDG (only 3 clicks away!!) I'm giving them a 7.

OXYGEN PLEASE!

17 September 2007
No surprises here - we got what we paid for, an inexpensive hotel room in Paris during the "Rugby World Cup Tournament" and "European Football" week. The double room was compact and the en suite miniscule. The matresses (not a double, as requested, but two singles) were very thin and even thinner when slept on. There was plenty of hot water (mostly through the shower curtain and on the floor) and the rooms cleaned daily. The towels only just adequate. There ws no room safe but we were offered free use of hotel safe. There is no lift and we were not offered any help with our luggage to our room on arrival. Our room was located on the fourth floor (oxygen would be a nice touch, especially after shopping trips along the "Champs-Elysees" and marching up and down "Sacre Coeur" or the "Eiffel Tower"). Breakfast was the usual standard continental fayre and acceptable as such. The Dining Room is small and sometimes congested. The hotel has no dedicated parking but they did direct me to a local parking garage. One consolation was the fact that we paid £100.00 less for the stay at the hotel than another couple who stayed at the same time as ourselves. We feel that the hotel primarily suits young travellers/backpackers on a budget and is located closer to a "Metro" station. If this were a school report the words "could do beter" come to mind!

The hotel was basic, yet comfortable and the staff were friendly. The view out of our room was not exactly wonderful but the room was cleaned daily for free, so it was not a problem. Excellent links to the metro, which was 500m round the corner, with links to paris main attractions. WE brought lunch at the local bakeries, and ate at the chinese next door which is very good value for money. Overall, the hotel made our holiday an enjoyable one. Perfect for those who love the night life. Local brasseries, takeaways and clubs in abundance.

Our stay was fine. The hotel is a clean, youthful one, close to the city center. The personnel was also kind, they spoke both English and French. I would recommend this hotel mainly for young people and i rate it for 4.

Review of 'HOTEL AMARYS SIMART'

We regretting of choosing this hotel as the reception is really much impolite, unhelpful & without smile at all !!!! Knowing that this hotel is without lift, therefore we did request before hand for a lower floor. However,  they've given to us the highest floor (6th). Anyway, we did request to change but the reception is so rude that directly confirmed it's without any room available hence unable to change.

Why I am saying that the reception is rude, it's 'coz when we are speaking to him, he is not looking at us but facing to the computer & with his hands busy clicking the mouse...  What a hotel is this????

We also found that they have been so polite & friendly, with smile with the same racial of people (african ppl) .. but for us on our 1st day of arrival, there is no smile or even a 'welcome' !! I don't expect much on this hotel but at least a 'bonjour' or smile will do...

It just such an unpleasant for our 5 days in this hotel.. We will never, never, never will come to this hotel again !!!

Review of 'HOTEL AMARYS SIMART'

I booked the Amary’s Simart Hotel because I wanted a cheap last-minute getaway to Paris with some friends. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. The two rooms we booked were on the top floor, so one room had views over Parisian rooftops and the other overlooked the Sacre Coeur, which was approximately 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms only had basic TV channels and the bathrooms were very small, but clean and functional. The hotel has a breakfast room, but doesn’t have any lifts, which means that we had a long walk to get the top floor, which felt even longer with cases! Getting to the hotel from the airport was very easy, due to Paris’s efficient transport system and there was a metro stop at the end of the street. This also meant that it was easy to access all parts of the city. The hotel is in a residential area, so there was little to see or do around the hotel its self, although the lively districts of Montmartre and Pigalle are within about ten to fifteen minutes walk away.
