clean and basic

12 September 2008
I stayed at hostel anibal with my boyfriend for a few weeks when got to Ibiza we were looking for work. Very clean, staff was very nice and polite and helpful. Pool is nice and is quite relaxing on sunbeds. Room wasnt that hot quite cool think we had one out of the sun.Although was quite noisy at night when the guy on reception was shouting at people on the stairs please go to your room!! quite funny sometimes everyone is just having a good time. Overall its in good location near a few shops and about 15 min walk to west end its cheap and cheerful ...;o)

A group of 10 of us have just got back from a 7 night stay at this hotel. All in all I think this is a good little place to stay if you want to keep costs down in getting to Ibiza as its very expensive when you get there! The only issue we had was on arrival the reception guy was a little stressed as lots of people turned up at the same time and it was 4 in the morning so I had to show him who was staying where and when but as soon as he understood it was fine, he does have a metal pole which they use to keep trouble makers away which does work and I felt really safe there becuase they don't take any rubbish from drunk holiday makers! It is a little over the top at times but if you are polite and friendly to them they give you the same respect back. Hotel is very clean with our rooms being cleaned each day and the pool area was good with good food if you just want a snack. It is basic but for £13 a night what else can you expect! The only thing I was dissapointed in was the location, its advertised as 5 mins from Eden which its not really, it takes 10-15 mins to get to Eden walking and its on the wrong side so its not really in all the action, but on the plus side we managed to get a bit of sleep at least becuase of this! It is however only 5 mins walk from Linekers bar. Some reviews have said this is a noisey place to stay but I really didn't think it was - not compared to the hotels above bars. We didn't have aircon but as our room was over the front of the hotel it got no sun all day so wasn't that hot when we wanted to sleep anway, we didn't need to hire a an but this could have had something to do with the time of year aswell. Overall its a good place for the price.

very basic but clean

03 September 2008
Stayed at Hostal Anibal for the week. The room itself was very basic with just a wardrope and dressing table although the room was quite spacious and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels each day although some of the towels did seem rather old. we paid 50euro for air con for the week which was def worth while, couldn't have stayed in the room without it. the breakfast wasn't very exciting although only made it down stairs for breakfast twice in the full week. people slamming their doors was rather loud and annoying at times and also there was no lift in the hostal and we were on the top floor so carrying the suitcase up the stairs wasn't easy.some staff on the front desk were not very friendly or helpful but the husband and wife in the bar part were lovely.the hostal is close to the bay and the west end as we walked it about 3times a day.would consider staying here again.

Basic but clean

16 August 2008
Just got back from Hostal Anibal after a five night stay. Found the room clean but basic. Me and my boyfriend had paid for self catering, thinking we would get self catering facilities but there was only a wardrobe and dressing table. I was expecting at least a fridge as we could of paid for room only but paid extra for self catering when we got room only. When we asked at reception the man spoke little english and said "no fridge this is a hostal you contact the travel agents". The towels were changed every day and the beds were made. We paid extra to have air con which was 8 euros a day but you really needed it. I didnt find it too noisy except when people let their doors slam which was really loud and woke you up in the night. It was a short walk to bay bar and bar M about 5-10 mins. The pool was small but nice.

Good Value

15 August 2008
We were very happy with the Hostal as it was one of the cheapest that was available and it was good value for money. We did think the aircon was more expensive than other places we have stayed (80 Euros for 10 nights) so we opted for a room without and hired a fan (10 Euros for the whole stay). There were always plenty of sunbeds by the pool whatever time you made it down. Our room was cleaned everyday but the floor could have done with being swept a bit better. Also the drinks and food available were more expensive than other places we have stayed in Ibiza. We have been to Ibiza for the last 4 years and this was the quietest place for a nights sleep we have stayed at (maybe we were lucky). Overall a very good place to stay and I would consider staying there again.

Cheap hotel, clean, nice pool area and freindly bar staff. Very unfriendly front of house staff! Didn't have a room for us with air-con, and charged us an extra 60 euros as we checked in early in the morning! Is a 15 min walk from San An centre. Better off staying in Playa D'en Bossa to be nearer to all of the clubs as taxis are hard to come by!

Well considering I booked it very last minute I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly & only 8 euros a day for the aircon...rooms could have been a bit cleaner & they could do with buying some new towels as one of ours was thread bare!! Bring own soap & toiletries...loo roll is provided, pool ok although we partied so much we didn't hav time to use it...If you want a cheap place, only 10min walk from san an port then this will suit you down to the ground. Your left alone to do your own thing, maids do make up the beds every day, apart from Sunday!

Noise, Dirty Pool, No Aircon, Cold Showers

15 July 2008
Its cheap not good value, you can expect the walls to be wafer thin, with bomb like explosions errupting everytime a door closes. If you hate sleep this is the perfect place for you! Yeah its clean apart from a pool of beer that was left outside our door for 2 days and the dirty pool. 10 mins from the bars? I dont think so. Make sure you bring your own soap, shower gel etc as this is not provided, no phone, no TV and depending on how he feels the manager could charge you 20,30,40 or even 50 euros extra for aircon. Make sure you Iron your clothes or you could be waiting a long time for the 1 iron the hotel has. I know its cheap, but spend a little extra and stay at Marco polo, puchet or arcomar all of which are excellent and cheap, THATS GOOD VALUE.

Loved It!!!

11 July 2008
Stayed in Anibal for nearly 3 weeks in June and absolutely loved it! Couldnt believe how clean it was, cleaners were a wee bit annoying trying to get into the room in the morning but you learn to sleep through it! ha! Pool area was great, clean with plenty of sun loungers. Bar was well stocked and did a good wee food menu til about 10 at night. Above all, Oscar and all the staff were the best thing about the place! Such nice people! Really made us feel welcome.....Watch out for Jose the night porter though...not the nicest guy lol!! Anibals in a really good location, far from the noise but a 5 minute walk to Bar M, Eden and Es Paradis and about 15 minute walk to the West End. Would recommend this place to anyone!!

Pleasantly Suprised!

22 September 2007
We chose the Hostal Annibal, basically because it was the cheapest available. We were all pleasantly suprised, the staff were fairly friendly, offered good security at night times and the facilities were great for the money...a nice pool with bar doing basic food, lockable safes for hire and rooms cleaned daily. Just a short walk form the action but far enough away to escape (most) noise when you craved sleep!

This little hotel is ideal if you want to be close enough to all the action but far away enough from noise and craziness that is Ibiza. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were excellent.Air Conditioning was awesome and only cost 20 euros for the week.Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Great

20 August 2007
Very nice little place to stay, very clean, rooms cleaned daily and clean towels. Staff great with you if you ok with them. As others have said, can be noisy, but what do you expect in Ibiza. Pool area ok, no rush to get beds !! can be noisy by pool as described by others, some guests drinking and shouting all day, didnt bother us to much, who goes to the white island for sleep. All in all a very good place to stop, 10 minutes from beach, 20 from west end. Would def go back, very good value for money.

Very clean and friendly. A little noisy at night/early morning, but what do you expect in Ibiza! Would def go back there again. Just to let people know that this hotel is based in the Bay and not ( as we thought ), near Sunset. There is another "Anibal" 2 mins from Sunset and we made the mistake of turning up there at 3 in the morning!!!!

Great value base in Ibiza

12 August 2007
The hostal anibal was a great find for our holiday in san antonio. Set back off the main road, about 15 minutes out of the West End, it's in a quiet location but not too far from the action. If you are travelling in the height of summer, it's worth paying the extra 40 euros for a room with air con - well worth it! The Spanish staff were friendly and maids cleaned our room and replaced the towels every day. Yes, the walls are thin, doors bang and noise travels - but take some ear plugs and you'll be fine! Just one thing to watch out for - if you're getting a taxi from the airport make sure the driver takes you to the right Anibal in San Antonio Bahia - ours dropped us at 2am outside the residence Anibal in the heart of the West End. It was only thanks to the sympathy of a group of locals that we eventually found where we were meant to be! Overall, though if you want a budget holiday in good-value accommodation, look no further than the Hostal Anibal. We've already started planning our next trip...

Great as always

26 July 2007
My 2nd time staying at Anibal and if I go back to Ibiza, I know where to stay! Like mentioned before, the place is cleaned every day, staff is very polite if you respect them. As long as you respect them and don't destroy anything, they will pretty much allow anything. Only downside I could think of, is the loudness of everything. Walls are VERY thin and you can hear when cleaning is 5 rooms away. Still the best and cheapest place to stay in San An if you ask me :)

Hostal Anibal

16 July 2007
A very cheap hotel. Quite a bargin really. We were charged an extra 7 euros a night for air conditioning- its well worth it. The walls are really thin so sound travels easy. Don't expect a quiet night. I wouldn't recommend breakfast, all it is breadrolls and fruit juice. The location is good. Close to the bay beach and about 20 mins from sanantonio town. The pool is ok, but cloudy with a layre of suntan oil on top. There is never a rush for sunloungers as everyone gets up about 2pm. Very clean. The maids come everyday to give fresh towels. Erm... all in all its a great cheap hotel for a group holiday. We had a great time. But i felt sorry for the families and older couples (50yrs+) who had to put up with the larger louts around the pool. We found the older staff very friendly and they liked it when you made an attempt to speak spanish. the younger members of staff were rather rude. One huge downside that our balcony didnt lock. So never felt very safe. This was the case in our friends room too. Over all cheap and cheerful place to stay in ibiza :-)

Excellent

13 July 2007
What a great little place to stay in. The staff were great and always very helpful, breakfast was basic, but ok.The room and bathroom were excellent for a hostal!!! We even had air con in our room, which was a great help and only cost 50 euros for the week. This place should be given 3 stars, every where was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms have been refurbed recently. As i am a travel agent, please take my word about this. I have traveled all over the world and for the rating of this hostal is TO LOW!!!! I will be going back in the very near future.5 star service all round.

Cheap and cheerfull

12 July 2007
Cheap, very clean, and a good location, sums this place up. Not a place for peace and quiet though, although far enough away from the bars, the people staying there will def be the party type,so undisturbed early nights are a def no go,but then who crashes before the early hours when in Ibiza(even a old man like myself crawled in at 6 every morning!) Pool a decent size, but does get busy, food so so,but breakfast not really worth it,although is cheap as i guess. Oh and whatever you do,pay extra and try and land a air con room, didnt myself, and regretted it big time!

A Great Deal

09 July 2007
What a bargain! Clean with friendly & helpful staff and only a short stroll to the beach and main attractions. Bar prices were reasonable & a good range of fresh made snacks. As we are "mature", they gave us a room on the top floor so we wouldn't be disturbed at night. Excellent position and value for money.

HOSTAL ANIBAL

05 July 2007
Really cannot complain for price we paid! Rooms were tidy and cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Quite spacious with a decent sized bathroom aswell. Situtated in a nice location just outside the main drag only a 10 min walk to the beach and about a 20 to the west end. Nice selection of food on offer at the bar. The pool is pretty basic but can play your music round the pool area as they have a sound system. Probably the only downfall to the hotel were the staff. We found them unhelpful and ignorant. Didn't see any families there just young groups. Overall id defo recommend to any groups on a budget just looking for somewhere to get clean and get there head down!

The Anibal was a pleasant surprise.Tucked away in a residential area it was good to be away from the hustle and bustle but only a few minutes stroll to the beach and about 15 minutes to lively bars, restaurants etc.Staff very friendly and helpful and maid service was probably best i've known with rooms cleaned and towels changed daily.Overall would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for somewhere that's not in the thick of it but certainly not far on foot from all the resorts entertainment.

What a great cheap hotel in San An.  Far enough out of town to get some sleep and avoid the stench of vomit, close enough to walk to the taxi rank and Sunset Strip.  Clean, basic accomodation, good pool and bar/cafe.  What more do you need?

The service was excellent, the room was clean, and the beer was cheap.  If you had run out of energy from lying on the beach in San Antonio, you could always hop up to the hotel and have a cold beer by the pool.  The only down sides were that the walls were thin(who wants to sleep in Ibiza?) and the breakfast rolls were a little on the chewy side.  But at the price we paid there is no complaining about these things!  Excellent!

What a great place! Don't be put off by the term 'Hostel', our stay was as good as any hotel.Towels changed and maid service every day, Air con is available in some rooms at 50e a wk, which is welcome relief! Cheap snack bar and helpful staff, a short walk to nearby Spar supermarket on main road. Both San An town and Bay are within walking distance. Only minor problem is no lifts, which makes moving luggage a bit tricky! Pool area is relaxed and clean. I would recommend it to young couples or groups.

In terms of value for money i would definately reccomend a stay at Hostal Anibal. The location was pretty much perfect for us, not too far from the lively bars and clubs of San Antonio and the beach was even nearer. The rooms are cleaned every day and the pool area looks well looked after. The staff are freindly and helful especially the guy who looks like Rolf Harris !!! The only gripe i have is that at times the room was very hot as they do not have air con. We bought a fan from a local shop for 30 Euro which helped but did not fully ventilate the room. On a whole though i would have stuggled to find a better place for the price i paid. You dont spend much time in your room anyway !!!

This Hostel is in a quieter part of San Antonio; about 15 minutes walk from the main town, but is still very handy for the beach. It is ideal if you want to escape from the madness of the main resort at certain points during your holiday! I stayed here with a group of friends and found the hostel extremely good value for money. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the pool area was really well kept and the unusual added feature of cockerels in the vicinity, made for an interesting talking point!!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of staying in San Antonio!!!
