Take your ear plugs!

17 March 2008
We were a mixed bunch of 5 adults and 8 teenagers so we are all used to noisy fun especially coming from Blackpool. Rooms are adequate but quite basic, not cleaned everyday but you can live with that. Supermarket just across the road. The usual Parrot and snake show plus bingo and a hypnotist,(the manager/receptionist) there seems no end to his talents. Our room had a nice terrace which was great during the day however the nights were horrific! Overlooking Hot shots bar we were treated to a variety of football chants/flashed bottoms/details shouted of who was going to do what with whom(and it was not playing scrabble!). The football machine/boxing machine, bottle bank being emptyed and then in the morning pavement pizza! The apartments are on one of the noisiest streets in Santa Ponsa with lots of night clubs and bars, mainly Irish. The Teenagers with us loved it but they were in the clubs and not trying to sleep in bed at 5am. There must have been previous complaints about noisy rooms as there is a notice in reception saying that on no account will rooms be changed. On a positive note you can still find nice restuarants and bars just not on this street. The apartments are very cheap but you get what you pay for. I certainly wouldn't stay there again.

Not very friendly

Went to Holiday Park in May and was disappointed. You could not even drink water at the pool if you did not buy it from the pool side bar. One person was eating a piece of fruit and was asked by entertainment guy Paul to please stop eating the fruit. This was said throught the loud speaker for everyone else to hear. Not very nice.

The best of Santa Ponsa

09 August 2007
We Live in Malaga and we stayed in Santa Ponsa and loved this freindly Self Catering Hotel. Everything was just great from the first minute we arrived but the best of this hotel is that just a few steps away from the shops and the beach and no long walks. We will go back next year. P. Huse.

You get what you pay for

OK apartments, even though we thought we saw to little of the cleaning staff and the kitchen equipment was very poor. Nice pool area and friendly staff at the hotel. But the nightly noice was a little annoying, it is worth noticing that this hotel is situated only 20 meters from the bars and discos in Santa Ponca - get ear plugs or loose sleep!

Simply the best

Myself and my family stayed here for one week in May 2007. We had a great time from start to finish. The apartments are beautiful, spacious and very clean. As was the pool and bar. The entertainer my kids just loved and are still mocking him now. I would definitely return to Holiday Park it was our best holiday abroad ever!

Good value

You get what you pay for with these appartments. Cheap and very cheerful. The "entertainer" at the bar does get on your nerves if you are looking to just chill by the pool during the day as he really doesn't provide much entertainment at all just reminds you all day of the rule regarding against bringing own food and drink around the bar time and again which gets a bit tedious. That aside, appartments aren't bad at all- perfectly adequate, and the pool is quite pleasant. Wouldn't hesitate to return if I wanted a cheap break. Lots of steps if you don't get ground floor appartments, but then we needed the excercise so didn't bother us.

My Stag Weekend

30 May 2007
May 19th 2007 - May 23rd 2007. Having been to Santa Ponsa twice before I really new what to expect but I had never ventured to the Holiday Park Apartments before. Situated at the top end of the Irish Quater you may believe you are in Dublin if it were't for the weather. On arrival we were greeted by very welcoming reception staff and they remained very friendly throughout the stay. On arrival we were given a long list of rules and regulations to read and warned that the zero tolerance on bad behavour would be enforced and that there was a rather strict night watchman to reinforce this policy throughout the night. In fact they are merely trying to keep the noise levels down at night to ensure every guest has the best time possible. Quite reasonable really. The rooms are very basic and you will need to hire such ammenities as a toaster or kettle, you will even have to hire the air con although we didnt need it. The rooms are situated in the side of a steep hill and the severity and amount of steps is very unforgiving. Our room had a poor view. Out of the front balcony we had a white brick wall and from the rear a cliff face perfectly acceptable for us but you may want to request a room change. The bar staff were equally as friendly as the reception staff which made time around the pool a joy. The geordie compare trys his damdist to entertain you throughout the day but you find yourself spending most of your time taking the mickie out of him (all in good humour of course) The food is reasonable with average prices but there is loads of choice outside the complex anyway. Drinks are expensive compared to the rest of Santa Ponsa but competetive with UK prices. You can not consume your own food and drink by the pool even the stuff you buy from reception. I would reccomend these apartments and Santa Ponsa in general if you want a cheap and cheerful holiday. 8/10
