The Holiday Inn Garden Court Lyon-Villeurbanne is situated at the heart of Lyon in the Villeurbanne district. The hotel is near Tête d'Or park, the Cité International (Palais des Congrès), less than 10 minutes away from the city centre and has direct access to the ring-road. Guest bedrooms are well presented having been renovated in 1997 with each comprising air conditioning, en-suite, satellite/cable TV, wired and WiFi internet access, telephone, hair dryer, iron and board, sofa-bed, trouser press and desk. The hotel restaurant is air conditioned and is described as offering distinctive regional cuisine and serves throughout the day. There is an additional cocktail lounge, bar and room service is available for those wishing to dine in their rooms. There are four well equipped meeting rooms with the largest having a capacity of 180 persons. The hotel also boasts multi-lingual staff, baby sitting services, dry cleaning and allows pets.

This hotel has been a revelation. It is modern, bright and clean, and with extremely helpful staff. It has an excellent restaurant with a la carte and three fixed priced menus. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices extremely reasonable. There is a tram stop 250 metres for the hotel and 15 minutes will see you in the city centre. I would not consider any other hotel in Lyon given my first experience with this hotel.
