Fabulous
04 June 2008
We had the most relaxing time on this holiday. We found the staff to be very aimiable, the bar staff in the evening were simply the best! The entertainment was a bit limited but on the whole a great great week. People with walking difficulties would not appreciate this area as it is very hilly!

The apartment complex is geared up for families with younger kids. My 2 boys aged 11 and 9 did not want to come home. The kids club has a great friendly atomosphere for children. We were staying on an all inclusive basis, there was a good variety of food at each sitting and snacks in between. You do get sick of the food, but the price we paid for our holiday mean't we didn't mind paying for a meal outside 2 or 3 times. The staff are friendly and very helpful. On the down side this complex is very noisy and requesting a room looking over the heated pool would make all the difference.

Tamiamo in November 2007
01 December 2007
This apartment complex offers plenty of facilities. It depends on your individual needs but you could stay around the complex and pools all day if that is what you want. We only sat around the pool on 2 occasions for a couple of hours after a trip out – there was never a lack of sun-beds. Music is played around the pool area which we did not think fitted in to having a relaxing holiday, neither was the type on music in keeping with a canarian island.
We booked an apartment here mainly for the general location and availability at short notice. The apartments and communal areas were clean and maid service was every day except Sunday. We were self catering and the equipment provided unusually included kettle, toaster and microwave. The bathroom included bath with shower and even a bidet though was let down by a lack of shelving for toiletries or even a decent towel rail – though you could see where one had been but the screw holes had been filled in – seems a minor issue that could easily be put right.
There was evidence that the windows to the balcony had been forced open giving concerns for security. The windows did however lock okay.
The balcony to our apartment unfortunately overlooked the one-way street that surrounded the apartment complex. This in itself was not a problem as the road was relatively quiet. However there were waste recycling bins located directly outside together with general was bins housed with metal-gated lean-to type sheds. For some reason known only no doubt to the Spanish, the waste bins are emptied at midnight, disturbing an otherwise relatively peaceful night. If you are due to book into these apartments, check with reception which block you are in (they give you a map of the complex when you arrive) If you are in the yellow block request a move to another block or at least ensure your balcony faces in towards the pool.
Overall the complex was okay, served our purpose and presented good value.

Tamiamo in October
27 October 2007
We stayed at the Tamaimo Tropical apartments for a week during the October school holiday. We were independant and had hired a car for the week. Reception greeted us in a friendly and organised way. All reception staff spoke excellent English and were happy to book local excursions e.g. Whale watching and local guided walks for us.
The apartments did not seem overly busy and a place by the pool could be had if the sunlounger was 'towelled' by 10am. There appeared space for everyone as there was some turnover of personnel. One of the pools was noisier with activities for the young so there was plenty of choice. The pools were cleaned every day and had good acess to bar/food services.
We chose to eat at the local (500m) restaurants for variety but you could eat in house easily. The rooms were large and twin beds comfortable. There was room service on all days but Sunday. Our balcony overlooked the 'quieter' pool as requested. it got direct sun until 1pm so it was ideal for us to sit without getting too hot/sunburnt. The rooms could do with things like a dishcloth to wipe up spills or other basic cleaning needs. A simple welcome pack of a couple of tea bags or some juice would have been great!
Local black sand beaches were clean and OK. We prefered the furthest one (30min amble) at Playa la Arena.
We would happily return to the Tamaimo Apartments and thought the price was very competitive.

18 September 2007
Ihave been to tamaimo tropical for 2wks with my family 31/8/07 unhappy for us our holiday ended on 14/9/07 the food was,t that bad .the hotel was very clean people was very nice the pool was great if you could get a bed. there was a rule no saving sunbeds with towels although the spanish did,as for the animation team who did the entertaining with adults and kids, they was fantasic( rony your ace) very kind, considerate, and made my daughters holiday brilliant as she says even now best time of her life .so my view its not just the hotel that makes it a great place n country to be its the entertainers that take time and care. plus we was with a family of 22 we would go back to tamamio. mr and mrs atkinson of hull england

Does what it says on the tin!
11 September 2007
We stayed there 3 nights. The rooms are quite large, we had a 1 bed and there was a microwave... very unusual, but good, the bed in the sitting room is like a brick wafer thin matress. The food in the hotel wasn't great. We were all inclusive, and really didn't use the facilities. The pool area is packed with people and there is no air at all, so we went to the Black beech every day, which was more pleasant. The aparthotel is very very large but facilities are excellent.... they just need to get a beauticians in there for the all important facials. There is a massage therapist and a hairdressers, to unwind though. Overall, this would suit families however for couples or a group of girls the hotel wouldn't be the right spot

good value
22 August 2007
only stayed one night, ticked all the right boxes this aparthotel is great value for the money everybody seemed happy, our only tiny gripe was the lack of spare sunbeds but there are grass lawns around one of the two pools, and it is peak time of the year.

Fantastic
01 August 2007
We are just back from one week in the Tamaimo Tropical Apartments and had a wonderful time. So much so that we are going to book the same place for 2 weeks next summer. The place was spotless, the security great, the liftguards brilliant and the childrens entertainers fantastic. We are fussy eaters and found the food very good with a good selection of meats, fish, salads and desserts. The pools were lovely and kept clean. It was so good we only left the complex once to go on a boat trip and we spoke to another couple who were there with three kids (two teenagers) and they only left the complex twice in two weeks. The kids made friends and there was enough activities to keep them amused and give us time to relax. The apartment was on the fourth floor with a great view of the pool. We will definitely be back and looking forward to it already

delightful
03 May 2007
We stayed at this delightful hotel during the Easter break. We were very happy with our holiday. We were lucky enough to get a ground floor apartment near the pool, pool tables table tennis tables and tennis courts. As we have three children who only wanted to be out and about it was very convenient for us to keep an eye on them. The children enjoyed the daily entertainment and the night-time entertainmet was very enjoyable for both the children and the adults. Every night there was a kids disco followed by proper bingo with cash prizes (not cocktails and champagne) and a professional show. The seating in the bar wasn't the most comfortable but the quality of the entertainment made up for it. The people in charge of children's entertainment did a good job, (especially the guy). It was possible to go all-inclusive on a daily basis for €22 per adult and €11 per child. The food was basic. There were some very nice restaurants locally, especially the mexican one. The pools were big with the heated one being just a couple of degrees warmer than the other one but it was enough to allow the kids to swim for long periods without shivering. The kiddies pool was perfect for our 4 year old. There were plenty of sunbeds available. The apartment itself was clean and the bedrooms were big. We were able to set up the children's bedroom with three beds and there was still plenty of room. The reception people were very professional and helpful and a securty guard helped us with our bags on arrival. Internet access available thuugh much cheaper up the road.We rented a car so we cannot comment on the public transport or taxi fares. The resort was lovely and the cliffs were spectacular. Los Gigiantes was a lovely village but beware everything there was dearer than in Peurto Santiago. Playa lArena was lovely too. The beach was small and the waves were huge!! We did enjoy it though! The only drawback is the location of the hotel in terms of the beach. If you are someone who likes to go the beach everyday when on holiday then it is not within comfortable walking distance, but if you are the type to lie by the pool and let the kids have a little freedom then this is as good a place as any.
