fabulous location

this is a very nice hotel in a fabulous location, on the east side of central park with veiws down the length of the park, we were on the 28th floor and watched a fantastic lightening storm over central park on our last evening there. all of the staff that we encounted were helpful and friendly. there is a small pharmacy in the hotel foyer which was useful. the beds were comfortable and the room spacious. if we went back to new york, and i hope we do, i will definitely try and book this hotel again.

the hotel is conveniently located between the prime 5th and 6th avenues along central park south. a short 3mins walk takes you to the nearest subway station at 57th street, which is perfect for me as i made my way around the city during my weekend stopover mostly by subway. places of interest within 15mins walking radius include the times square, rockefeller center, numerous theatres and shows, 5th avenue, st. patrick's cathedral, central park, and the famous new york sightseeing tour ticketing office. hotel facilities include in-room lcd tv monitor with pay-movie and internet access. bathroom condition is satisfactory. hotel staff were generally helpful. i was allowed a late checkout at 3pm and the concierge was happy to safekeep my luggage for the rest of the day. i requested for a room at the high floor was given a spacious room at 36th storey. by and large, i had a really great deal.. as i only paid a special rate of US154 nett per night when i booked through alpharooms.com.
