Nice, relaxing holiday

06 May 2008
The Hotel has a lovely spacious pool/garden area, pleasant receptionist, clean rooms. The breakfast buffet was excellent! Dinner was good as well, but we started to get tired of it by day 3-4. The only thing to complain about – very uncomfortable bed. Also, bring necessary medicine with you (just in case) as the only place to find necessities is at the pharmacy which is 30min walk away and not open on the weekends. We would definitely recommend this hotel for an older couples and families or if you would like to have a quiet break.

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel, with three young children. The Hotel on arrival, was imposing and a delight to look at on our arrival. We were soon booked into our room which had a magnificent view of the pool area and the Sea and which was big enough for all of us. The food was plentiful, with plenty of choice and throughout the week they had different theme nights. There was a Childrens Club available, for which the girls involved were great with our kids and the pools were all spotless and were very well maintained. It was a bit away from the town centre, although a nice walk along the sea path/boardwalk but a taxi into Playa Blanca cost less than 5 Euros! It was quieter than some other Hotels we have stayed at but this was exactly what we wanted and this Hotel certainly delivered. I would recommend it to any families, older couples and any disabled people as the ones we saw were all well catered for.

Review Timanfaya Palace

05 August 2007
Great Hotel with lovely spacious pool/garden area and plenty of sun loungers. Large well furnished bedrooms. It is definitely worth booking a seaview room we upgraded on arrival but it would have been cheaper to book on line. The thing that set this hotel apart for us was the attitude of the staff they couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful from the receptionist when we arrived who let us view available rooms before we made our choice to the maitre'd of the restuarant who gave us a bottle of cava with our meal when he realised it was our last day. The best service we have ever had in a Spanish hotel! Some guests may find the location a little remote from the centre of Playa Blanca, about a 20 min walk along the coastal path, we had a hire car but there are plentiful taxis if necessary. We would certainly go back and recommend this hotel to older couples/friends or young families. Young couples or families with teenagers may find it a little too quiet.

Review of 'H10 TIMANFAYA PALACE'

26 January 2007
Just got back from Lanzarote and our stay at the Timanfaya Palace. We booked or stay through Alpha Rooms and chose the Timafaya after reading the reviews posted on their website. I would not normally bother writing a review but I thought as the reviews I read were so helpful I would try and return the help for other would be holiday makers.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The Timanfaya is a very good 4* hotel set on the sea front. Our room was bigger than I had expected with the biggest bed I have ever seen, the only downside to the room was that about 80% of the rooms had ocean views, ours didnt and to make things worse we were immediately above the service entrance to the hotel and could hear the deliveries and bin emptying early each morning (room 332). The hotel was spotless and all the staff very helpful. The food was varied and in vast amounts but could sometimes be a little bland and not as hot as you would expect, allthough to be fair there were notices saying if you would like your food a little hotter please ask one of the staff. All in all a very enjoyable stay and a hotel I could recommend.

I have also been upgraded to this hotel and it is very good. If you go to the Lanzarote Princess ask when you are booking in if they are looking for people to move as they overbook. They will send you by taxi to this hotel and it is a better grade of hotel. We took at a last minute deal costing £600 for a week for two of us flying from Glasgow and ended up upgraded. One thing to bear in mind is that this hotel is a good bit further out of town then The Princess and if you are not so fit I would not go here unless you were happy to walk a good bit. Taxis are inexpensive however.

Review of 'TIMANFAYA PALACE'

13 June 2006
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to this hotel from the nearby sister hotel Lanzarote Princess when our air conditioning broke down. We couldn't believe our luck! The minute you walk into the spacious entrance lobby and look out through the large glass fronted windows to a view of clear blue skies and the sea, you think 'WOW'.

Large marble staircases lead you to all the different levels of the hotel but a must are the 2 outside glass elevators which transport you to each floor giving you a great view down the coast, the mountains behind you, and of course the sea in front of you. My 2 kids loved it!!

The kids pool is the largest I have ever come across with plenty of room, and both me and my husband use to swim in there as opposed to walking to the main pool (which was only about 10 strides away anyway) because it was so big. The gently sloping in 'beach' side was great for very young children to paddle.

The main pool was large and at one end a great waterfall effect which you could either walk or swim under (again the kids thought this was great).

Plenty of beds around in June but if you wanted a prime location by the pool you had to be down there by about 9.

The restaurant has large glass windows which you can sit by (tip - too hot in the evening because of the sun and glare but what a superb view for breakfast!) And the food - absolutely fantastic!! There was so much to choose from you were spoilt for choice, and it is the best choice I have seen in a long while. The quality was excellent. Kids were well catered for and the staff loved them!

Entertainment wise - I have seen better inhouse entertainment. However, the kids clubs were great running twice a day with the usual 'mini-disco' in the evening. The brought in entertainers and singers are great and worth staying in for but by week 2 we were going out on evenings when the inhouse entertainment team were doing a production which unfortunately was repeated from week one. Worth seeing once but not twice.

The promenade which runs along the front of the hotel takes you right in to Playa Blanca after a good 20 minute walk (which don't get me wrong is a very pleasing walk taking you past the lovely little beach of Playa Flamingo and some cafes, bars restaurants and shops).

Overall a brilliant holiday which I would highly recommend to anyone (couples and families alike) looking for relaxation and quality.
