Great Pools

This was a really nice hotel. All inclusive is the way to go- and it did not cost much extra. Well worth it. A bit far out from Playa Blanca but regular shuttle bus and cheap taxis. Most staff were very efficient and friendly. The food was as good as you can expect for a 'bain marie' buffet. Treat yourself to a slap up paella on the beach elsewhere!

Wonderfully relaxing hotel. Food ok, service good but I asked for an extra blanket and it didn't appear. The equipment in the gym was shabby and instructions in English would help. All in all, it was absolutely super and we had a lovely holiday. Our room overlooked the sea and was very comfortable and well-appointed.

What a pity that this fantastic series of buildings with superb gardens, pools and outlook, is let down by services that are not consistent with a 4 star hotel. The staff were courteous and freindly but lacked the required professionalism. The dining room was frantic and the ambience was spoiled by waiters clearing and scraping plates close to diners, perhaps because the majority of guests were all inclusive and always seemed to have many plates of food. The food can only be descibed as average. I agree with a previous reviewer, half board guests are second class. With just a few changes this could be a top class hotel.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel and I have no complaints. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and found a varied selection of food each evening. The one thing I would mention is the comfort of the beds. I found them a little too hard for my liking and struggled to sleep at nights, my advice would be to get a matress from a sun lounger for additional comfort. Overall a the holiday was very good.

Review of 'H10 RUBICON PALACE'

The hotel was indeed palatial.  The central reception/dining areas were exquisitely tiled and spacious with fountains and plants.  Even the lift had a glass wall with an outside view.  Our room was large and comfortable with a lovely bathroom and a sea and garden view. Every room had a door to the outside: there were no corridors, just beautiful gardens and pools.  There was a huge choice of food and the service was good.  Outside there was a beautiful long promenade leading to the resort centre.  Playa Blanca was a bit far to walk at night in February but the hotel entertainment was good, particularly the Platters who were excellent.  The resort had lots of nice shops and there was lots of sightseeing and walking.  We would stay at Playa Blanca again and probably at this hotel.

have been here many times over the last 4 years and have always found it to be excellent in all ways. the food is varied and very good. the staff will do anything to help you have a good holiday. it is nice to receive a management phone call on day two to ask if everytrhing is ok...managers in england seem to hold their breath and hide in a cupboard!
the hotel is very clean including rooms and common areas. club H10 also provides many perks to the regualar guest.
looking forward to next visit especially if alpharooms can get me such a good deal again!

'Rubicon Round Up'

stayed here 3 years ago at that time plenty of waiters and the Beefeater Bar had snacks and entertainment. Stayed 12.10.06 lovely Reception staff and maid service grounds kept very well unfortunately, there is no longer a wide choice at meal times and food is often cold.A shortage of staff an the hotel is aiming towards predominately spanish clients and fully inclusive customers. We were half board and staff did not like the fact they had to complete a receipt and fetch our drinks for us. You can only get beer in plastic glasses and staff are very confused if you try to order anything you have to pay for. To change pool towels used to be free but now you have to pay for fresh towels not really a four star qualty hotel anymore but a good 3 star. entertainment geared towards spanish entertainment.

My daughter and I needed a break and chose this hotel not knowing anything, and it was superb. We couldn't fault it. We had a lovely week and would definitely go there again if we visited Lanzarote.

Review of 'RUBICON PALACE'

This was our second stay at the Rubicon and it was just as good as we remembered.  Like the other reviews I agree the food is varied and of a high standard.  The staff at the hotel are friendly and make a real fuss of children.  Our little boy (age 3) loves the place.  The spacious grounds, several pools, two parks etc make this a great place for children to visit.

The rooms are large and clean and well equipped.  Unlike the other reviewers I found the reception staff very helpfull.

Playa Blance is a strange resort, in that it appears quite small on a first visit and then you find there is more to discover.  There are 3 main beeches, which are all good and safe for children. The nearest to the hotel is Playa Flamingo.  This beach is 20 mins from the hotel, but has suffered from recent storm damage and now has rocks on half of the beach.  So at the moment it is not as highly recommended.

The main town is small and doesn't really have a vast amount for those who like to shop and eat in high class restaraunts.  However the food there is generally good and there are enough shops for a holiday visit.  The the Marina area is well worth visiting and the bars there are of a higher standard as is the food.

If you want a laid back holiday in a great hotel with a welcoming atmosphere then I would recommend this hotel and resort.  If you like running, cyclcing and walking etc. then this is also an ideal location.  If you want a lively resort for nightlife etc. then this is not the place to look (beginning to sound like my mum :-)...

Stayed there early this year.  Food was lovely and hotel was quiet so no queues! Room was nice comfy spacious and quiet. Grounds were lovely but weather was quite poor so pool didn't get used much.  Don't think that the children's club was up to UK standards - our little boy took one look and refused to go in - not surprised really. A hike from town but we like that and there's a free mini bus throughout the day. We liked it so much we're going back next Feb!

Holiday taken December 2003.
Fantastic holiday, beautiful weather, lovely hotel.  However, the hotel gardens have different levels and walking around with a pushchair sometimes proved difficult.  Hotel reception staff not helpful at all - at time of booking had requested a 'garden room' and paid for this upgrade - staff denied any knowledge of this request and said that all rooms were the same price anyway!
Apart from this the hotel was one of the best we have stayed in.  Food was varied and plentiful - champagne for breakfast!
Hotel itself is quite a walk to the centre of Playa Blanca - about an hour each way (walked there - taxi back (cheap).
Playa Flamingo Beach about 15 mins walk away which is very pretty and has a few shops.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and the resort of playa blanca.

I would definately go back to this hotel - seven swimming pools
2 main restaurants Poolside restaurant and an italian restaauraant.the food was excellent with plenty choice.  The hotel was very clean. The bar staff were friendly even thought service could sometimes be slow.  My only complaint would be towards the sometimes unhelpful reception staff and Playa Blanca
itself which was just a strip of mainly electical shops.
