Family with 2 yr old - Fantastic April 24th-May 1st 2008
03 May 2008
We stayed at the Lanzarote Gardens for a week at the end of April and i cannot fault the resort at all. We have just returned and we miss it already. The Hotel complex is outstanding. We went self catering , we did eat in the hotel buffet the 1st night as we arrived late and we had to get our little girl something to eat, we found the food poor so I would not advise anyone on the all inclusive etc. The childrens facilities were excellent the kids club, playground , entertinment was excellent day and night. Our toddler loved the play ground. The swimming pool was too cold for her to do into too even thouh it did get up to 38oC on our 2nd day. (which is unheard of in April , the locals were even surprised by this ).
The Apartment itself was fine,, we stayed in room 277 , 2nd floor and had a slight view of the beach. There is no lifts so be careful if you ask for a top floor. The people in th apartments either side of usere so quiet we did not know there was anyone in them.
Costa Teguise is a fantastic resort and the walk form the hotel along the bach to the middle of the resort was beautiful we did this walk 6-8 times a day it is only a 10 min walk. The nights got windy so bring something to wrap up in.
I cannot fault anything about the hotel, resort and the transfers we alsbooked thru alpharooms. We will be booking agin through alpharooms.
Fantastic service, Fantastic Hotel 5* from us :)

Fantastic
09 March 2008
We stayed at the Lanzarote Gardens for a week at the end of February and i cannot fault the resort at all. We have a toddler and a four month old baby and the resort was absolutely perfect for a young family. Our toddler loved the paddling pool area, there were two other pools, one was partially heated and the other was too cold to venture into. There was a good mix of different nationalities staying at the resort. Everyone was friendly and the children all played really well together, despite obvious language barriers. The animation team at the resort were first class, the mini disco in the evening was our toddlers favourite part of the holiday. The shows were all very entertaining as well. The kids clubs looked great and there is a play area with slides for children as well. It is impossible for a young child to get bored as there is so much going on. It wasn't to brash or invasive though - if you didn't want to take part in any of the activities the animation team will leave you alone. The resort was clean and the apartments were nice and spacious. We went self catering and the food in the surrounding restaurants was quite average but there was plenty of variety and all the restaurants were friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this resort to families and I will be booking another holiday next year. This time i will book for longer as one week was too short!

Winter Break
28 February 2008
My husband and two children girl 7 and boy 9 went to Lanzarote Gardens on 17th Feb for one week and it was the best holiday we have ever had! Accomodation was clean and tidy with maid service every day. Cooking utensils and bowls etc were a little scarce and kitchen area very compact but the essensials were there.
Mini club was excellent and the entertainment staff were what made our holiday so special. Kids loved the activities arranged and were even included in two of there evening performances! Entertainment staff work very hard and activities include the adults too. Food in hotel excellent too and plenty of choice at buffet service. We thought this hotel was great value for money and we will definately be back next year.

Great Location
28 January 2008
We have just returned from a week's stay at Lanzarote Gardens. Having never been to Lanzarote before was not sure to expect, but after staying here in Costa Teguise and visiting Puerto Del Carmen we both agreed we had chosen the best resort. The hotel was in a great location - near to the beach, shops, bars and buses. It is very nicely laid out - feeling of space rather than cramped together. The pools were lovely - though obviously in January very cold ! The only drawback we felt to the hotel was the food - we were self catering and on the first evening paid to go into the restaurant there for dinner and never went back ! But for anyone self catering, such as ourselves, there are lots of great eating places within easy walking distance.
Overall - great location, good hotel (just shame about standard of food - but great for self catering, and would return here again on that basis).

Grandmother and 8 year old grandson
07 January 2008
Have just returned from a week's half board stay. As everyone says, the staff are excellent unfortunately the food is not. The breakfasts were Ok but the evening meals left quite a lot to be desired. We're not fussy eaters and my grandson eats normal, home cooked meat and three veg type meals but found little to appeal here. Fortunately he likes pasta so he had that every night ! There was not enough fresh veg, and what there was seemed to be the frozen variety, the meat was not very good quality, apart from New Year's Eve when there was a very nice roast pork joint. Also we were given a room with a double bed instead of twin beds so I ended up sleeping on the sofa the whole week. However, the pool area was great and the accommodation clean. May go back but would not do HB next time.

Review of 'H10 Lanzarote Gardens'
30 March 2007
Just returned from a week at Lanzarote Gardens in March 2007 and we tend to echo the previous comments; great place, excellent value, nice and clean, loads of sunbeds, there must be 5 sunbeds for every guest. We loved the evening shows, although these are not ussually our scene; what a great staff team. We have stayed at other H10 hotels, more luxurious but also more expensive. We were in one of the older rooms, it was a bit tired but disability friendly. The pool was a bit cold but useable. We took some food with us need not have bothered as there are loads of really nice restaraunts within walking distance - full english for 2 50e, why bother cooking. Will definitely be back.

Review of 'H10 Lanzarote Gardens'
06 January 2007
Apartment was in the refurbished block and was roomy and clean. We stayed in 1 bedroomed apartment on the third floo, with balcony looking out to sea, this was in a very quiet part of complex and was a sun trap, getting the sun throughout the day. I had actually asked for these specific requirements when I booked and was delighted that Alpharooms had passed on my request to the hotel. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice ,however due to the amount of guests and kiddies on the complex it was very noisy in the restaurant. Even though this was busy time over New Year and in the school holidays the children were never a problem during the days or nights.

A Little Gem Of A Place
26 October 2006
90% of people are correct in what they say about lanzarote gardens, a gem of a place. Okay only about one third of the people are british, there was none of the loud mouth middle class, mutton dressed as lamb type of british person (you know who i mean, the person who shows themselves up),everybody mixed in well. The complex itself, the pools, well i did go in,cold at first but soon warmed up playing with the kids, (been in colder pools may i add). Sun beds anytime of the day, great kids club for our two young ones (9 and 4). Rooms basic but very clean, never saw one insect, towels and beds made up everyday, beautiful power shower in bathroom, no noise from outside or above,(only noise i heard was the rain on patio door on morning of departure). Saw three shows, the 1st "the one man show" you had to laugh, bits of it was so crude but good, the wife says he would not be allowed to get away undressing like he did in england though. The other two put on by the animation team "Cats" and "The Lion King", both 1st class, but be in early to get a good seat. We were half board, breakfast was very good, even fried and scrambled eggs every morning plus you name it,it was there. Evening meal if there was a down side it was here, okay full every night, plenty of choice and more, but we found that the cuts of meats were the cheaper end of the scale,a bit fatty and chewy, but not happy with what you got try something else, could do with an extra 2 waiters here for clearing tables quicker. The resort, you can't beat it, the kids loved the beach just over the road, meals dead cheap, we did have fillet stakes (2 on each plate) out one night, with all the trimmings for less than 9 euros. Did find though, seemed like a third less people here than last time we were here 5 years ago. Must be a record landed at 13.20 hrs, in reception at 14.00hrs, straight in a taxi (no queue) 15 euros, 15 minutes. Back to the gardens next october you bet (i have no say in the matter, i just have to pay up).

Review of 'Lanzarote Gardens'
21 October 2006
The lanzarote Gardens is no more than a 3 star hotel as described.the reception area is looking tired and worn and in need of referbishment. the 1st room we were placed in was in dier need of restoration, with worn carpets and a dark and worn bathroom suite , "NO FANS" in the room at all. We were moved to a newly refurbished room, which was a lot nicer with , microwave and ceiling fan, bright white bathroom. the food was edible, but not a large selection eg - 2 meat dishes, 1 fish , and salad bar.and usually canarian potatoes or chips. One morning they had colourful choice for breakfast when they placed a tray of cooked sliced carrots out next to the bacon (mmm not for me, i'm full) The following morning they had fish fingers next to the bacon ( mmmm ! no still full)
that is enough of the moaning.
The POOl area was fantastic, spotlessly clean, the bar food was excellent value for money at lunch time, especially for the children . The maid services was excellent, room cleaned daily and towels changed daily. although we did not use the kids club, it was well run with very friendly and enthusiastic staff, who worked extremly hard to make sure that the kids were well entertained. They also performed most nights as entertainment, the miming to backing tracks was a bit of a shame but their enthusiasum was excellent. the hotel was well positioned for expoloring Costa Teguise. The resort was excellent with a numerous selection of bars and restaurants all at resonable prices, just a five minute walk. The beach front promanade was well lit at night and safe to walk. Also nice and flat, this lead to the majority of bars and resturants. The beach area had numerous sunbeds and was white sand. We would recommend El Patio to eat out at in the evening. The Water park on the Island was good fun but very expensive -21 euro for adults and 15 for childern.only 10 minutes from the hotel by taxi which costs just 3 euros. There were height restirctions on many slides of 1 metre 20, which was a major disapointment to our 6 year old who is 1 metre 18. Although he still had a number of slides he could go on. My wife states If for no other reason it is worth going just to get whistled at by the life guards( i did not like to tell her they only do this when you are doing something wrong and not as a sign of affection)
I would return

Review of 'Lanzarote Gardens'
22 September 2006
Staff are very friendly at Lanzarote Gardens and the apartment and grounds are the cleanest we have ever stayed at. We would normally stay in 4 star accomodation but decided to try Lanzarote Gardens due to reading the previous reviews and were not diappointed. The apartment was pretty standard but very clean. The animation team are fantastic from the kids clubs, the daytime activities, mini disco and the evening shows. The Lion King was suberb. Reception staff were very friendly. The swimming pools were ideal, with sections to suit everyone and you could get a sunbed at any time of day even though the apartments were pretty busy. Even the cats were looked after. There is a designated feeding area where food and water is provided for them so that the cats don't pester you for food - this should keep both cat lovers and haters happy! We had a massive balcony in ground floor apartment with 2 patio doors from living area and 1 from bedroom on to it, only down side to this is no window in bedroom to leave open at night (although not all apts are laid out like this) and I missed not having airconditioning but you can hire a fan which helps. Food was ok but could have been improved however, we DID eat there every night. Overall would highly recommend these apartments for families with children. Lanzarote Gardens are in good location -across the road from a commercial centre and close to the beach. It is about a 10 minute walk to where the main shops and bars are.

amazing holiday at this hotel
15 September 2006
we were there during the first two weeks of September and having booked through alpha rooms for the first (and not the last i hope)I was very impressed right from being picked up at airport in the pre-arranged taxi through to the last night of our hols when we watched the Lion King show being performed very professionally by the animation team fron the hotel. well impressed with the whole hotel arrangemant from the loveley room and two balconies to the excellent pool area and the comfortable lounge area of the hotel. It is also situated in an ideal location just 2 minutes from a choice of 3 fine beaches. There is no need to put towels out on the loungers around the pool as there is so many of them. all in all a great holiday and an excellent company to book it through.

I am an experienced traveller and have been all over the Canary Islands, this hotel has to be the best family friendly hotel i have ever stayed in. The accomadation was light and clean, seperate sleeping to living quarters which was great. Entertainment team in the hotel were the best I have come across, they work from 10 am until 12 midnight 7 days aweek, They went out of their way to include children in activities without being pushy , they were friendly towards the parents too, even sitting and chatting after the shows in the evening, we have made some life long friends from all over Europe during our stay here and would challenge any family to try it out and not have a great time.

Review of 'Lanzarote Gardens'
11 August 2006
We had a thouroughly enjoyable stay at Lanzarote Gardens. We normally only book self catering accomodation, as a large part of our holiday involves finding nice places to eat (you'll have no trouble in Costa Teguise - one tip though, do dig around some of the small squares - some are hidden away. One in the jabilo area- great pub called the snug, and there's one particularly nice restaurant called El Patio - service a bit slow, but the food is wonderful!) Food at the gardens not so wonderful - it's ok if you're not too fussy! Pool and accomodation really nice, and well looked after -maid service every day! Staff all very friendly, and the entertainment team are superb! Paul, a dutch guy, in particular - we had a great time with them all. beach tip - sometimes the surf can be a bit much for young ones at the main beaches - go to Jabillo, it's got a break, and is lagoon like - take bread, a snorkel, and feed the fish - it's wonderful. Hope you have as good a holiday as we did.

Review of 'LANZAROTE GARDENS'
30 June 2006
We had a very enjoyable holiday in Costa Teguise. Lanzarote Gardens was in a great location, close to the local shops and a 2 minute stroll to the beach.
We paid for HB and the food was lovely. We had a good choice of food and enjoyed each meal.
Our room was a nice size, very clean and with a balcony that captured the sun in the afternoon.
The hotel entertainment staff tried very hard putting on different shows, but it was more for families.

Review of 'LANZAROTE GARDENS'
26 May 2006
Great holiday overall. Hotel fine- good standard for a 3 star. Resort good for families. I would recommed staying here.
We have 2 children aged 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. The kids club were a little disappointing for us as the baby club was just supervised but there were no organised activities so it was just really free play nad the children weren't stimulated in any way. Our oldest child was allowed into the older club but as that was for 4-11 year olds it was too boisterous- however for older children it was good. There is a small soft play just outside the hotel estuarant and a little playpark which were good. In the older miniclub area there is a larger soft play and an outdoor big climbing frame. You can use these facilities even if the children are not in the miniclub and they are very good. The swimming pools were very cold and we had to complain and get other guests to complain (we were told to do this by the hotel!) before they would agree to switch the heating on in the middle sized pool. It was just too cold for children without this. There is a small paddling pool which was popular with the children as it was the only one warm enough to play in at times!
Don't book half board as it is really cheap to eat out and the restaurants in the resort are great. You can get breakfast for 2 euros and a sirloin steak was about 10 euros- lots of tapas, grill places and chinese. Food in the hotel didn't look very appealing. We had some friends with us that had actually paid for half board but they only ate in 3 nights within their 2 week holiday as it wasn't that good.
Would recommend hiring a car we hired one for day from Payless cars for 30 euros and dropped it off at the airport the next day to catch our flight home and there was no extra charge. A taxi to the airport is 17 euros so it meant that the overall cost for the days car hire was only 13 euros and the island is worth seeing.
The animation team were excellent- the shows at night were the best I have seen- very professional and well worth seeing. Paul a dutch guy is great. The kids mini disco was aimed more at slightly older children as again it was quite boisterous loads of jumping around.
We had a few cockroaches in the room- apparently they are vey common in Lanzarote- would recommend keeping your plugs in the sinks at all times and blocking up the overflow bit- this seemedto help. We were in block 3 which was refurbished but not to a briliant s

16/03/06 to 23/03/06 What can`t you say about this place! The location is great 15 mins from airport 20 Euro`s in a cab,the Hotel is accross a small raod from the beach which is very safe for children. The staff are very child friendly and entertainment team work constantly both day and night to keep both the kids and the adults happy. The kids club is good and there is a couple of kids play areas outside the restaurant so you can eat and watch them outside which is good. The food is a buffet service of which you had a choice of salads pasta, fish, meat, paella etc with either chips or potatoes and some veg as well,i had read some other reviews knocking the food but cannot understand this unless you are really fussy. Anyhow there are plenty of restaurants close by that are cheap enough for lunch and dinner anyway! The room was pretty big and had a large bedroom and a decent sized balcony which we had a partial view of the sea. The mini disco was a hit at eight every night and the shows were very good especially the Lion King which our son loved he is 4 in a couple of months,he also made lots of friends and has requested to go back which we will definately for a winter break again. You cannot beat this place for weather value and all your needs met im sure the prices will rocket one day. For families its great but couples may find it too low key for stuff going on in the resort itself unless its for a relaxing break. Enjoy!

E for effort
07 February 2006
E is for effort and nothing is a problem for people who work in this apparthotel. From recpetion to room cleaners there was always a 'hola' and a smile. The appartements are a little dated but really clean and the food is so so but if you have one or more kids it is the place to be - especially if like us you have a few overcast days. A well run creche/ playschool alongside a good play area and heated kids pool takes the pressure off parents. Then there is the entertainment team - a group of happy people in their 20s - who run the mini discos as well as the evening shows. They also run poolside activities for all age groups. They all seem to love kids, remember peoples names, speak 3 or 4 languages and have a lot of fun. A very impressive bunch of people who make a difference to a holiday. 'hola'

'LANZAROTE GARDENS' Jan15-22 2006
22 January 2006
This was our second stay at the Lanzarote Gardens - previously about 5 years ago. The hotel is well located on one of the busier local roads within the resort. There is a bus stop right outside the door (every 20 mins to Puerto del Carmen via the sea front at Arrecife, and fares are incredibly cheap by UK standards), plus a taxi rank less than 100 yds away, and five car hire offices within 150yds. There is a pharmacy and a medical centre right next door to the hotel. Numerous cash machines, a couple of banks, and Las Cucharas commercial centre with a decent sized Netto supermarket, cheap electrical stores, and several cafes/bars are literally just across the road, as is ample free parking if you go for a hire car. Las Cucharas clean sandy beach is an easy 200yard comfortable stroll across the road and along a short path, and the sea front promenade leads to many more shops, bars and restaurants, as does a moderate, uphill walk of about 400yds along the road the hotel is on, passing the Post Office and Police Station en route. For walking to other parts of the resort, (and for getting on the bus before all the seats are taken!)we think that the Lanzarote Gardens has one of the best locations in Costa Teguise. The hotel itself consists of very spacious, carpeted apartments, on three floors spread over several blocks (no lifts - all steps), so whether you are self catering or on half board (which we were) you still have a TV fridge, cooker, crockery etc. The accommodation must be a good few years old now, but the pine furnishings are still in excellent conditions, and everywhere appeared to be spotlessly clean. Meals are buffet service, with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes for both breakfast and dinner. The clientele seemed to be a mixture of English, German, and Finnish guests in roughly equal proportions, but the food itself we thought was more to Spanish tastes rather than "International", and the dishes didn't vary much from day to day. Breakfast was identical every day, as were the salads and cold dishes for dinner. Only the soups and the hot meat and fish selections varied a little bit - but Hake and Veal cropped up four times during the week, as the only choices! Even if you are a bit faddy, like me, you certainly wouldn't starve, but by the end of the week, if we had been staying any longer, we would have been glad of a meal out for something different.

Review of 'LANZAROTE GARDENS'
03 October 2005
Want an apartment with hotel facilities, childcare, a childrens club and adult entertainment without the Butlins cringe factor? Then go for the Lanzarote Gardens. The resort itself is also great (no clubs, no touts and just a couple of English/Irish pubs) and the apartments are in a quiet location, just across the road from the beach, restaurants and a supermarket. (There is a fabulous Italian which our receptionist recommended called Partabello with homemade pizza and pasta - no sea views but the locals all eat there so draw your own conclusions!) I am a 5 star luxury girl so the need to cater for my two year old came as as something of a culture shock, but this accommodation will suit the kids and the parents - honestly!

Great Hotel with fantastic facilities for both children & adults. The kids were entertained 24/7 with the Daisy Club, which included a mini-disco every evening. Our 2 girls aged 4 & 8 had a great time.
For the adults there were daily activities & there was a "Show" on every night.
The hotel entertainers were great !!
Overall a FANTASTIC holiday.
