Great hotel, Great location
23 October 2007
Stayed at this hotel the second week in October. The room was lovely with plenty of space for two people. Had a great view of the pool from our balcony. The hotel had lots of facilities and lots of entertainment day and night though most of it was in spanish. We didnt stay around the hotel much to watch it as there is so much to see and do in Salou. Only ate the food a couple of times though because i am really fussy. There was plenty of choice but more catered to the europeans staying in the hotel. The staff were very friendly especially the male bar staff who knew (by day 3) what cocktail we were going to order before we even asked, but the odd female staff could have been a bit friendlier sometimes. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. We were only a 5 minute walk from the beach and Port aventura was 5 minutes away on the bus. There were plenty of British bars to choose from. I reccommend Robin Hood for cocktails and Buddys for food. The weather was really hot all week except for one day that was overcast. We will definitely be returning to Salou with alpharooms. Great value for money and a really good location.

Stayed for four days in late August with partner. This hotel is good and couldn't complain about the food. Actually enjoyed the food and thought it was varied everyday. The room was okay but the weather was that nice we never used it much. Room cleaned spotless everyday. Okay for two people. Don't know what the rooms for people with kids would be like because there wasn't much room for more beds. Staff friendly. Entertainement wasn't the best and we didn't stay around much. However, your in Spain and you should expect to see different things and so listening to someone sing in Spanish isn't that hard to take. There are plenty of British and Irish pubs in the area that cater for traditional tastes. The beach was crowded but you could still find room without being invaded. The sea shelved gently and was warm enough to swim and stay in. Play areas all along the beach for the kids if they get bored and grassed areas under shade in the trees to sit when it gets too hot. We were pleasantly by Salou and would return with the kids.

Just returned from the Europa Park. Just booked 5 days there as we were just going to see our son who is a holiday rep in Salou. Had a quiet room on the first floor which was nice but it was so small. I was glad we were only going to be there for 5 nights. Two weeks in this poky room would have been a nightmare. However the room was clean...but very 'tired'. There were signs that at some time or other the door had been forced. However the airconditioning though noisy was very effective ensuring a good nights sleep after 34 degree heat. Food was plentiful..though sadly chips with everything. Had chicken kebabs one night which were undercooked and running with blood. When we complained the waitress just shrugged. Needless to say we avoided them but when we told other diners no one seemed bothered !!! So WATCH the chicken. The pool is lovely but no way will you get a sunbed until the evening so we didn't bother trying and caught the landtrain to the quiet beach at Cap Salou. There was evening entertainment but as we are non smokers and and everone smokes outside where the entertainment is...we went into the town in the evenings. All in all thoguh the hotel is good value for money for a short stay. The staff were all very friendly and worked very very hard.
I have laughed at some of the rooms complaining about the limited sun...as if that is something the hotel can remedy!!!
Yes it is limited due to the height of surrounding buildings but so what? You won't get a sunbed anyway!!

We loved our stay at the Europa Park. The value was tremendous; the room was plenty big enough for 2 adults plus a cot; the cleaners sorted the room out every day.
The animation team were great with our 18-month old daughter even though she wasn't strictly old enough for them - they made the holiday for her. The pools are great and the weather was lovely too - but a bit windy at times.
The food was good but sometimes strange combinations - not enough choice of potatoes and veg for our likings, but nice enough.
The hotel is less than 1/2 a mile from the rail station which is great for travel to Tarragona or Barcelona - but the trains can be very full. We had to stand up for 1.5 hours to Barcelona with cases and a pushchair to manage as well.

This hotel had everything to offer. It was very clean and the staff were more than helpful. infact they couldn't do enough for us. Our party consisted of seven adults , (one who was in a wheelchair and 73 years old). We also had three kids with us under the age of seven. There was a lifeguard at the pool which is very rare abroad. It was ideally located central for almost everything. We all had a brilliant time and wouldn't hesitate to go back to this hotel. The amenities in the hotel were excellent with jaccuzi , kids pool, adult pool, kids club, poolside entertainment, and nightly entertainment. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Just returned from a week at the Europa Park. Studied all the reviews before we booked and thought this would do us. Alpharooms managed to secure our booking at such short notice were others could not. We asked for a top room with sea view and got it. All the staff were excellent, hotel and rooms always clean, a credit to the staff. Food was generally good, dinning room got a bit hectic though. Rooms a bit small and limited draw space, good size single beds a bit on the firm side for me, noisy air con unit. Excellent pool and plenty of loungers to go around, limited all day sun so the usuall 7am brigade were out booking their place for the day. There were many Spanish, French and Dutch in the hotel mostly over 60, quite a few British families so a good variety of people. The evening entertainment was of a very low standard, even the low cost of drinks failed to keep us there. Situated in the centre of the resort the pool area and our room were noisy with the constant drone of passing traffic. Airport only 10 mins away plenty of taxis and buses, we hired a car for the week well worth it, although the local transport is excellent with Tarragona and Cambrils easily reached. Barcelona 1hr 20mins well worth a visit. Overall I would rate the Europa Park a good 3 star standard, and good value for money

The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fabulous. Very good location for getting the local bus to the nearby resorts of La Pineda, Cambrills and the city of Tarragona. The Tourist information office is literally outside the hotel. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool but people do tend to reserve them despite signs in the hotel requesting that they do not, there was traffic noise around the pool but it is not too bad, we were there in October 06. Our room was located at back of the hotel away from the pool and it was quiet until a guest moved in next door who was clearly deaf judging by the volume of the TV, I told reception the next day but they said I should have reported it that evening and they would have sent security around to the room. As it was the other room adjoining the deaf guest banged that hard on the wall we heard it, and the TV was reduced in volume immediately. (That is the international language of a good bang on the wall Ha!) We did arrange transfers with resort hoppa from the airport to the hotel but actually when we arrived at Rues outside the airport there was a bus which charged 5 euro's each to numerous hotels, one of which was ours, otherwise I think a taxi is about 29 euro's. I guess if you get that bus you would ask how to book it going back. As it was the journey with resort hoppa,( also on a big bus) took 10 minutes to H10 Europa Park. The hotel is also close to PortAventura, that was about 6 euros in a taxi but there was a regular bus, which went from across the road.

I found the hotel had some fantastic services available. the room we stayed in was for 2 adults and a 12 year old, it was very clean and with ample space for all of us. every member of staff in the hotel was helpful and friendly at all times with nothing to much trouble if asked for guildance. The food was plentyfull and with excellent choices for all tastes each and every day. The hotel itself is only a 5mins walk to the main beach and 10 -15mins walk to the adventure park. There only two issues i thought needed to improve to make this hotel a 5 star and they are, 1= Entertainment was of a low standard with the same act three times in a week and only in spanish. 2= The sun terrace area was limited thoughout the day you either got the sun in the morning or the afternoon. The easyest thing i found to do was to walk to the outstanding beach. I would book any H10 hotel with alpharooms everything was taken care of and we had no problems "Excellent service"

Review of 'H10 EUROPA PARK'

Food typical of spanish hotels (good if you like seafood and rabbit etc!!),pretty much the usual salad stuff, bread rolls and breakfasts (with 'funny' bacon). Restaurant staff extremely helpful and polite. One night in the week they held a Catalunyan cuisine evening. I'll give anything a try (within reason), but this paticular night my husband (who is funny with food)and I ate very little and went out to eat. Considering the price of the holiday in the first place, this was not a problem as there are some good bars and restaurants nearby all at very reasonable prices.
This hotel was good for all types of holiday maker; families, old, young, singles, teenagers. Entertainment at night was varied - something for everyone. Entertainment during the day for kids (nice wooden 'wendy-house' outside for the very little ones, and it's all supervised), various pistol shooting, darts etc. Bingo mid afternoon to kill the time before dinner and evening entertainment (good for those who like bingo anyway).
Bar staff helpful and polite and very smart. Although pretty much same staff on all day, they have a change of uniform in the evening to distinguish themsleves from their 'day job', which was very refreshing. Bar tariff was unbelievably reasonable - in my opinion, cheaper than other hotels i've stayed at where they usually charge ridiculous prices to their 'captive audiences'. Staff work very hard and the pool area is cleared everynight, sunbeds chained up to prevent guests reserving them too early. The pool area is then hosed down in the morning before breakfast and sunbeds unchained once breakfast is well underway. Lifeguard on duty at the side of the pool all the time is is open.
The hotel itself is situated in a good position and within easy reach of other bars and restaurants with a steady 5-10 minutes walk to the clean beach (which has a constent presence of guys picking litter up etc), although this gets quite busy in season. The area is very flat too so ideal for people with pushchairs and wheelchairs and those with walking difficulties. The hotel is accessible for wheelchair users too with a ramp, disabled WC, 2 lifts. Also automatic doors from the bar to the pool area.
All in all I would most definitely go back to this hotel. I have been to S

No complaints about the Hotel at all. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food was lovely with theme nights, favourite being the Mexican night. Hotel, room and pool were extremely clean. I went away with my Mam for 4 days and we went Half board, the food at poolside bar was lovely and reasonable. Entertainment in the evening was great and everyone got involved.

We visited this hotel on August. It's an excellent hotel with fantastic facilities. Our room was a decent size with a huge balcony. The pool areas were busy, but I always found a sunbathing spot ;-)
The kids club was great with the staff taking really good care of teh young ones. My daughter was a bit unsure at first (even though I was sitting only a few metres away) so the teacher made her feel extra special until she soon forgot I was there!
I wasn't overly impressed with the food in the evening but we were dining half board for less than it would have cost for self catering so we didn't mind eating out a few times.
The location was fine for us. With a 3 year old, we need to rely on the hotel entertainment which was very good.
Overall a good holiday and a good experience. I would definitely go back to an H10 hotel again.

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were lovely and staff was excellant. Its smack in the middle of the centre of everything. The staff kept coming round to take the children and do activities with them and had loads of time with them. It's one of the best hotels I have stayed in and would highly recommend this hotel.
