The area of Playa de Palma lies on the south-west coast of Majorca and offers a three-and-a-half mile long stretch of glorious sand that has been awarded a 'Blue Flag' for its cleanliness and facilities. A number of beach huts line the sands, offering food, drink, showers and toilets, whilst the newly renovated promenade houses local and international restaurants and a variety of shops. The quiet resort of C'an Pastilla lies at one end of the beach, at the opposite end is the livelier El Arenal with its popular nightlife. Although it is a nice leisurely walk between the two resorts, a mini-train that runs the length of the promenade makes it very easy to get around. This resort is conveniently located near to the airport, Palma city and the lively nightlife of El Arenal. This makes it a good destination for young groups and couples seeking an active sun, sea and sand holiday. The area has a great bus service which will take you to the Islands cosmopolitan capital city, Palma. You can explore the charm of the Old Town, with the grand gothic architecture of its Cathedral, or just relax with a drink on the waterfront.
