Altea The beautiful Spanish town of Altea lies on the Costa Blanca and is situated approximately 15 kilometres north of Benidorm and just south of the town of Calpe. The town sits on top of a hill, where guests may make a visit to the highest point of the town where the parish church of Virgin of Consuelo lies and where guests may enjoy scenic views over the area. Cobblestoned streets bordered with typical whitewashed houses descend the hill, which takes you down to the fisherman’s quarter, port and seafront. Visitors may enjoy a visit to the artist and craft workshops hidden among the labyrinth of quaint streets or take a stroll along the seafront promenade lined with pebbly beaches. Great for a quiet holiday with friends or for couples, Altea combines wonderful scenery and shores with plenty of restaurants and nooks and crannies to explore. There are theme parks nearby for children to enjoy, but a hire car would be needed to reach them. Altea offers the perfect destination for a relaxing, scenic break on the Costa Blanca.
