Vilamoura is a lovely place to stay

Apart from eating/drinking in the marina, there is very little to do here, to be honest, if you're not a golf fan. The tourist train which we did on our last day, took all of about 45 minutes, though it was quite nice to see all the posh villas on the outskirts ! Every venue played non-stop sports channels. The restaurant touts (and the ones advertising the adult bars/strip clubs later in the evening) were a real pain

Nineteenth hole bar, great live band, playing oasis, coldplay etc.look out for happy hour bars as prices do vary. More expensive than a Old town resort. Food was good in all restaurants around harbour, bar seven had all the sport channels and cheaper priced drinks, good service.

The town is a nice size for getting around, and there are plenty of restaurants. Not a whole lot of shops though, and most of them are on the Marina. I recommed O Cisteiro if you like fish. The barbequed chicken is also a favourite. I also recommend Colombo, Akvavit, The 19th Hole, and Don Alfonso (although they've ruined the ambiance by taking out the traditional furniture and turning it into a glass box). Theres a nice convenient beach near the Marina and a bigger and better one a bit further away at the Falesia side.

VILAMOURA IS PERFECTION FOR OUR AGE GROUP 30+, IT HAS EVERYTHING FROM VALUE FOR MONEY TO THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE! IT HAS GREAT BARS , EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS, A GREAT BEACH AND AN UNBELIEVABLY RELAXED ATMOSPHERE THAT MONEY COULDNT BUY, STAFF EVERYWHERE MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME AND WELCOMED FROM THE MINUTE THEY MEET YOU UNTIL YOU LEAVE, IT REALLY IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE TO UNDERSTAND!!!
