Kalamaki (Zante) Kalamaki is a small tranquil resort on the South Eastern coast of Zakynthos and is located approximately seven kilometres away from the capital, Zante Town and close to the island’s airport. The Caretta Loggerhead turtles visit the endless protected golden sands of soft sandy beach which is also part of the National Marine Park. A favourite with families, kids love the unspoilt beach and safe swimming. There are several bars, restaurants and tavernas as well as a small selection of village shops. The resort is great for families particularly with the safe swimming beach. Nightlife is low key but there are a few music bars and a disco. Zakynthos Town is well worth a visit and is only a short ride away by taxi or local bus. For those holidaymakers wanting a good base for the day but lively nightlife in the evening, the island's biggest resort Laganas is only five minutes away.
