Passport/Visa
General British 10-year passport (or five-year child passport if you are under 16 and not on a parent’s passport) every time you travel to Europe. This includes day trips and travel by Eurostar. Many countries no longer check passports at their land borders, but they still expect visitors to be able to produce a valid form of identification. For UK travellers this is the British passport. Remember, your passport will have to be checked at immigration control when you return to the UK. You need a valid passport to enter Germany. You do not require a visa. Single parents or other adults travelling alone with children should be aware that some countries require documentary evidence of parental responsibility before allowing lone parents to enter the country or, in some cases, before permitting the children to leave the country.
Trivia
In 2004, over 60,000 litres of beer were consumed at Munich's Oktoberfest which helped wash down 47,700kg of fish and 180,000 pairs of sausages.
