A Week in Rome August 08
23 August 2008
We spent 7 nights at the hotel. We booked a triple room but were given a suite which was lovely. Rooms very spacious and very clean, linen changed daily. Breakfast was very good and staff very helpful. Loved the location of the hotel situated next to the Metro as you could be just about anywhere in Rome in minutes (recommend a weekly travel pass which is good for buses, metro and tram). This can be purchased at the station under the hotel. Buses much slower and hotter. The hotel is just 2 minutes from Flaminio on the Metro with a host of shops and restaurants. Excellent holiday and I would stay at this hotel again.

We were delighted with the hotel & thought it was excellent value for money - particularly going thro' 'Alpha Rooms' (just try it thro' other sites or directly - it was under half the price!) The hotel was clean- sheets/towels changed daily. It had a lovely bathroom, tho the rooms were a bit dark- but that's Italian electricity for you! We just pulled back the rather ornate curtains & hoisted up the shutters. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very efficient, tho' a choice of fresh fruit would have been nice. It was very quiet in the evening - nothing much was going on. There was a piano bar but no player! In fact we wondered where everyone we'd seen at breakfast went! My sister and friend did have a couple of excellent cocktails. The hotel was near the metro & a regular bus - but we didn't know about the ticket situation. The staff on the desk could have given us more infomation about how to get about, what to recommend etc. It was fairly easy to get into the centre but in the evening after a long day's sight seeing it was too much bother & lots of local things were closed for the Italian August holidays but we did find some restaurants back towards the town after a lot of walking. saw 2 funerals at the church opposite thro the window! Ahh well it was a great little break - thanks Alpha Rooms!

short break in rome
01 August 2008
I had read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel on other sites, but was pleasantly relieved to find the room clean and large (we were upgraded to a suite for no extra charge). the staff were helpful and spoke english. the hotel is actually 2 hotels joined together the ritz and the regent. the metro is right underneath the hotel and is easy to travel into the centre of rome. the only downpoint was the traffic noise outside the window but after a few bottles of wine didn't notice so much. excellent value for money you will be unlikely to find a hotel this cheap so close to a metro line in rome.

Weekend break - July 2008
17 July 2008
The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious with clean linen and towels everyday. However, There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the bath leaked all over the floor. In addition we could not get room service at 11pm at night, not even a cup of coffee and the bar shut by 11pm also. The staff were firendly enough, however they did not explain the bus and Metro system to us and seemed bothered by my questions. If you have not been to Rome before you have to buy bus tickets before you board the bus and you can use these for the Metro also. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute bus ride from the centre of Rome and if i go again i will definatley pay a little more and stay more central.

Family holiday in Rome
14 July 2008
Excellent value for money. Good location next to metro/regional railway round the corner. Suite was very spacious with a separate room for our daughter. Slightly run-down and dark decoration - however, at this price you cannot complain.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are very clean and spacious. It is located at the Euclide metro stop and is within 15-20 minutes of central Rome. If you are looking for a great hotel, with a great location for a city break, you will not fault this.

Weekend Break - May 2008
20 May 2008
We stayed at the Ritz for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The room was large, clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very reasonable and the staff were excellent, always keen to help, advise or make you a lovely cocktail to finish off the evening (thank you David). If you like walking, a 15 minute stroll from the Hotel will see you to down town Rome, a good place to stop for a coffee, and from there it's just another short walk to many of the main attractions. We didn't use the Metro nor buses etc as we found walking was by far the best way to see as much as possible and there is always something to see/explore around the next corner. We will definitely stay at the Ritz next time we visit Rome.

28 April 2008
We enjoyed our three night stay in this hotel. Lovely room, clean, well furnished, spacious. Breakfast was fine. All staff were helpful. Train station is next to the hotel. Trains were frequent. Last train back from Flaminio/piazza Popolo leaves at 22-25. I would go back to this hotel.

Weekend Break
15 February 2008
We stayed at the Ritz for 3 nights and were delighted with it. Its a little bit out of the city centre but there is a metro station located outside the hotel itself (stops at 9pm), the 910 bus stops at the front door and runs to the city centre as well. Most staff spoke english and were very nice. Our room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast is fine. Great value and we would definately return again.
