Great Week

The Gran Tacande is a lovely hotel in a great setting just a two minute stroll from the beach. The staff were excellent and the rooms were comfortable, although we did have to change as most of the rooms are laid out as twin beds. Only 10 doubles in the entire hotel. The food was excellent. We stayed half board and would certainly do so again, the vairety great and lots of it cooked fresh to order, including Ostrich!! The food was recycled regularly so was always hot. The one negative point was the pools. they have one heated pool and one freezing cold pool (at least it was in February). The problem is that the heated pool was salt water. This is not ideal when you have young children prone to getting water in their eyes and mouth. It would make much more sense to have a heated freshwater pool, as the freezing freshwater pool had nobody swimming in it, it seemed like a waste! Overall thoug, a great week and we would certainly consider returning.
