not what you expect

when we arrived at this hotel we were told it was full and we had been transferred to its sister hotel 400 metres up a steep hill.We had booked our stay 7 months in advance. The sister hotel was also 4 star but was significantly inferior to the Turquesa Playa. It took us 2 days of wrangling to get ourselves transferred back to this hotel. At no time did the hotel management offer any explanation as to why they were overbooked or even an apology. We suspect it was a deliberate policy to use up spare capacity in their less popular sister hotel. However the hotel was very comfortable well located and the food as good as we have had from a buffet. The restaurant staff were very friendly .I would think twice before booking here you might just end up somewhere else.

We spent three nights in the hotel we felt that the hotel was more like a 5 star than a 4. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was big and comfortable. My only complaint was the bed had a plastic bottom sheet and this made you very warm during the night, if we had been staying longer I would have requested that it be removed. The food was very good plenty of variety and plenty of it. We went on an all inclusive and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of things that were included, virtually everything, we didn't have to drink the local drinks, all the brand names were also included. We would recommend this hotel and would go back.

The Hotel was quite nice...Upon arrival, the staff at reception were very nice and helpful, however bar staff in all bar/cafe's were unfriendly, with the exception of two waiters, one with glasses and another short guy in the event room. Rooms were nice and very clean. The food was great in the main dining room and the Italian Restaurant. I would definitely not recommend the Argentian. Most of the guests there were over 70 while we were there so I would not recommend it for younger people.
My friend and I will never go back to Puerto De La Cruz as the weather was dull for 4 days of our 7 day stay and the shopping in Puerto De La Cruz was insignificant, so there was very little to do. Hope this helps.

7 of us returned from this lovely hotel yesterday after a 9 night stay. You could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the food was superb with plenty of choice for everyone. We tried the Italian restaurant one evening which was a nice change. Only one possible fault - there was no decent evening entertainment. There was an act on each evening at 9.45 pm but they were very poor and people were just walking out after 5 minutes. There is a lovely dance floor in the bar by the pool but there was just boring music being piped through and it could have been so much better with people getting up to dance. Other than this though I would certainly recommend this hotel. The beach was a 5 minute stroll away and the centre of town a leisurely 15/20 minute stroll away. Each member of our party agreed that we would certainly return again this time next year.

Have been to this hotel before so knew it would be good, friendly staff, great food, very clean and spacious rooms, excellent facilities include: airconditioning, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, Large outdoor pool, kiddies pool, hot spa tubs, indoor pool, fully equiped gym. etc. 3 minutes from beach, 10 minutes from bus station and Puerto old town. No problems and are looking forward to next year and hopefully Alpha Rooms will be able to offer the same sort of deal.

WE HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL BEFORE THEREFORE OUR ONLY RESERVATION ABOUT REVISITING WAS AS FIRST TIME BOOKERS WITH ALPHAROOMS WOULD EVERYTHING GO SMOOTHLY. WELL EVERYTHING WAS A1 SO WILL DEFINITELY BE USING ALPHA AGAIN! THE TURQUESA ATTRACTS MATURE COUPLES AS THE RESORT IS NOT PARTICULARLY SUITED TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION. THE HOTEL IS VERY WELL MANAGED AND WITH EXCELLENT FACILITIES INCLUDING A MASSIVE OUTDOOR POOL, INDOOR POOL, WELL EQUIPED GYM. THE BUFFET STYLE FOOD IS GREAT & IN ADDITION TO THE USUAL "INTERNATIONAL" FAYRE THEY ALSO HAVE A TAPPAS, ARGENTINIAN & ITALIAN THEMED RESTAURANTS. THE HOTEL IS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND THE STAFF LIKE 99% OF CANARIANS ARE GREAT. THERE IS A DIFFERENT LIVE ENTERTAINMENT SHOW EVERY NIGHT. THE BLACK SAND BEACH OF PLAYA JARDIN IS JUST A 3 MINUTE STROLL AWAY AND THE COSMOPOLITAN CENTER OF THE OLD TOWN OF PUERTO DE LA CRUZ APX. 15 MINUTES.

The Turquesa Playa is a great hotel with friendly staff. The food is excellent and you have the option of eating in any of the speciality restuarants if you make a reservation. We were there with family over new year and the new year celebrations were great. The rooms are large and very clean. The all inclusive was excellent value for money. Most of the British guests were there with Saga but this did not give us any cause for concern!
