Good, but not 5 star

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the architecture is interesting but it does need some refurbishment. Staff are friendly and attentive and the dining facilities are very good. However, in a 5 star hotel I would not expect breakfast to be self-service. The Alpharooms price was as always, excellent value for money. Expect to pay around 4 Euros for a drink from the bar and the Buffet Lunch and Saturday evening buffet dinner, though very good are not cheap at 45 Euros per head. The hotel is a 15 Euro taxi ride from La Cala, but there is a courtesy bus several times each day to Marbella. Taken in the round, we had a very enjoyable holiday in a very good 4 star hotel.

Great value for money

In comparison to the UK five star, this hotel is not quite up to the same standard, however for the money we paid it was well worth it. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and made you feel very special. We were upgraded to a suite for no extra cost. The rooms were very clean and you had the little extras like, bathrobe, slippers and toiletries. However the decor of the hotel in general could do with updating, a good lick of paint and some new carpets would make a huge difference. The food was superb, and again the staff would do anything for you. I would recommend this hotel but not at the full cost rate. We paid £550 for one week for bed and breakfast through Alpha rooms, however direct with the hotel worked out nearly £900.00

What a 1st class hotel

This is a must stay at hotel after visiting many 5* on the costa del sol this is by far the best.
