The 3 parts of the building were built in 1953, completely renovated in 1993 and slightly renovated once again in 2002. The Gran Hotel Conde Duque boasts a total of 143 guestrooms spread over 8 floors, of which 23 are singles, 113 are doubles and 7 are suites. The hotel lobby offers a 24-hour reception with a safe for guests' valuables and a lift. In addition, the hotel provides a TV room, a café, a cosy bar and an air-conditioned à la carte restaurant with separate non-smoking area. Business guests may make use of the conference room and the Internet access (with WLAN). Additional services include a room and laundry service as well as medical assistance. The hotel has its own parking facilities for guests arriving by car and a play area for younger guests.

We visited Madrid in June. Staying at the Gran Hotel Conde Duque was, as usual, a delightful experience.
It is perfectly positioned for accessibility to all areas of Madrid via the Metro (San Bernardo stop is 400 yds from hotel). Metro travel is the way to travel around the city as trains are clean, frequent and sensibly priced. Costs Euro1 per person to get from Barajas Airport to San Bernardo.
Hotel is 4star quality with excellent, helpful staff. Hotel is elegant and all facilities/rooms are well maintained.
Being positioned in a delightful Plaza, where locals meet and children safely play, there is no noisy intrusion from drunken revellers (which, sadly, happens all too often in the tourist areas, ie. Plaza del Sol).
This is our favourite Madrid hotel and we can unreservedly recommend it - unless you're a rowdy reveller!
