Would definately recommend - 16th April 2008

16 April 2008
Booked at the last minute - had originally planned a long weekend in England, but the weather was so dreadful that we cancelled and booked 4 days in Tenerife instead. What a great idea! Flight was absolutely on time for once and Golf Plaza is only a ten minute taxi ride from the airport. We had a beautiful room, very spacious with an entrance lobby leading to the bathroom on the right, kitchen to the left and a bedroom and sitting room at the front. Both these rooms had balconies which overlooked the pool area and also out to sea. We went on a self catering basis but apart from making breakfast ate out - as do most guests I suspect. Didn't try food in the hotel but heard other guests on half board commenting that it was good and plenty of variety. On the downside, there is some aircraft noise, although to be honest, my husband and I didn't find it any problem. The kitchen was not the best equipped ever, for example, there wasn't a microwave oven, but it was perfectly fine for our needs. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotlessly clean - we had maid service every day (even Sunday which doesn't always happen in some hotels!) with clean towels each day too. The hotel lobby creates a lovely first impression and we can recommend the Bar in the lobby where the lovely Maria who was on duty each night was a delight. Friendly and effiecient and spoke very good english. Would definitely use this hotel again and wouldn't be afraind to recommend to our friends.

Very pleasant stay

23 October 2007
We arrived at 1pm and the spacious lobby takes your breath away. Our 1 bed apartment was ready for us and I was concerned it would be cramped with 2 adults and a 16year old and a 10 year old. However, we were pleasantly surprised as the apartment had a HALL which led you to each room. The kitchen was a seperate room, the lounge was very spacious with the sofa beds being in an 'L' shape and there was a seperate dining area. The bedroom was bright and well equipped with huge wardrobes. The bathroom was clean and modern although the lock/door was broken. We had 3 terraces-1 off the bedroom, 1 off the dining area and the other off the lounge. If you would like a similar apartment it was a corner situation and the others, looking from outside, would seem to be the same as this one. The food was okay, nothing special, just what you would expect from a buffet style meal. We were only here for 1 night but would stay again in future, not in winter as the pool was cold. If you want to use their lovely spa you still need to pay but guests receive a 10% discount. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday and are not too bothered about plane noise then we would recommend Golf Plaza.

Chill out

16 July 2007
Arrived at 3.00 am to Stay for 2 nights. We entered the huge well decorated hotel lobby and were welcomed with a cheerful smile by the night receptionist for whom nothing was to much trouble. The apartment was modern, spacious, spotless, well equiped & the beds were fantastic. The self-service breakfast was very good with enough choice to please most people. The evening meal was good, although generally we would eat out. The pool area was very good and it was nice to see lots of activities organised for children. We enjoyed the fact that were many different nationalities staying, especially Spanish, French and Scandinavian families. We did not find the aircraft noise at all intrusive, in fact it was quite enjoyable watching the aircraft passing over on their way to land. The bottom line is that we would have no hesitation in staying at the Golf Plaza in the future, maybe a week next time.

Golf Plaza

09 July 2007
Only stayed here for one night on route to the airport after spending a week in the north of the island. We arrived about 1pm and were able to go straight to our 1bed apartment which was on the ground floor overlooking the pool. We (3 mature girlfriends) thought it was spacious, clean and beautifully furnished, but a small welcome pack to make a tea/coffee would have been appreciated. The air con was lovely after a long drive from Puerto. The pool, dining room and bar areas were "lively" as it seemed to be Spanish holiday time so there were lots of families there. We had half board and our only criticism was the echoing noise in the restaurant and rather bland food but there was a lovely salad bar and plenty of fruit. The receptionist told us where to park free of charge as we thought 10 Euro for 1 night a bit steep. We also noticed that bar prices were more than we had paid in Puerto but we only had one drink before moving on to our lovely terrace with a bottle of red wine. We would definately stay here again - even the aircraft noise didn't seem to bother us. It would be ideal for a long weekend as it has superb facilities and an easy, short drive from the airport and to other resorts.

Gof Plaza

26 May 2007
We have just arrived back from the Golf Plaza and would recommend it thoroughly. On arrival we were dealt with very efficiently, when we asked about car parking the receptionist advised us to use the public road as the hotel car park was 10 Euros daily. The rooms were well equipped, very clean and the maid service was excellent with all the staff being very friendly and helpful. We tried the hotel restaurant once for dinner and breakfast but as we like to eat out found it not really what we wanted. We found quite a few nice places in the area to eat. There is an excellent fish restaurant in the square called the Lobster Pot which we visited twice and the fish dishes were excellent although not particularly cheap. I would certainly go back to the Golf Plaza and recommend it to our family and friends. Very enjoyable week.

Review of 'Golf Plaza'

28 February 2007
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golf Plaza, once we managed to find it.  We drove around looking for the hotel, we even pulled up and asked the local taxi drivers (we later discovered that we had parked virtually outside our room) to help.  We were told that it was down the road and on the left [wrong. We were parked outside]
The Hotel needs a sign other than the one on the roof.  People driving cars look for a sign at eye level.
The food both at breakfast and in the evening  was excellent (I am having to go on a diet in the UK now)with a wide range of changing dishes.  My only complaint was, although deserts started the week well, by the end of the week the choice was becoming limited.
I would go here again and would not hesitate to reccomend it to friends. The young ex-pat on the bar was very helpful and should realise that Dyslexia can be overcome!

Review of 'Golf Plaza'

20 December 2006
As our wedding anniversary is so close to Christmas we don`t normally have time to celebrate. However this year we decided to take a weekend break to Golf del Sur and were so happy that we did. We are very familiar with the area so knew exactly what we were going to although we had never stayed at this hotel. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and resort area for anyone looking for a quiet holiday. Of course the nightlife is only a taxi ride away and although we hire a car we notice the bus service is becoming more and more popular. The area is growing in terms of restaurants - you just need to explore.
The staff at the hotel and in the local shops and restaurants were lovely.
The accommodation was lovely too and towels were changed daily and although we were only there for three nights the bedlinen was also chaned in that time. The flat was well enough equipped but as we ate out in the evenings we didn`t use the cooking facilities.

We had a lovely time and have already recommended this to family and friends and would definitely return - possibly our anniversary next year - it beats a cold Scottish weekend!
