Santa ponsa holiday - Golf Beach Hotel
29 July 2008
Great hotel, very clean and the staff are very friendly. Rather than going to the beach we spent most afternoons by the pool. Bar prices were good and the snacks excellent. We were out most nights so did not need a TV although I would say air con would have been a MASSIVE help. The rooms were very hot (day and night) and even with the fan on it did not help. The location is superb for the beach, restaurants and bars. I would not want to be any closer to the centre as would be too noisy! I travelled there with friends and would highly recommend it for that type of holiday. Due to the lack of air con I'm not sure I would go there with my 18 month old baby and wife. You have to leave the door open to get any cool air and that means you hear the noisy road and people passing at all times of night. Overall - ran by great people, great location, great bar and snacks, only real let down is the aircon.

Lovely, clean hotel
20 July 2008
Stayed here for a week and we were going to a friends wedding in Mallorca. Peter was very helpful sorting taxis etc for us. The hotel is immaculate - probably one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Rooms cleaned every day. Pool area lovely and secluded. Quite warm as there is no air con in rooms but you can rent a fan etc from local company - Peter helped sort this for us too.
Would definatelt recommend this hotel.

It's Ok but....
17 July 2008
We've just came back and although the hotel is in a good location and as per other peoples comments the rooms are basic but cleaned daily, we were unfortunate enough to have a) a room above the bar area at the front and near the lift which at midnight and the early hours wasn't much fun and b) had the pleasure of some very selfish German guests in adjoining rooms who at 4am and 7 am thought it was great to have loud drunken conversations out in the corridors which no one from the hotel management curtailed.
Maybe our experience is just a one off, the hotel is in a good location and Im sure under different circumstances it would have been a good base camp.

I picked this hotel soley on the reviews I read on alpharooms, and they are spot on ! I love value for money but I could never be a back packer... This hotel was great value for money, its location is perfect ! The whole hotel is kept very clean ! Peter is a very friendly helpful guy.. The only thing that might bother other guests is that there is no air con or tv in the rooms (there is a fan though) but I personally only ever use a room to sleep and wash in so why would I want a tv ? Over all we were very happy with are stay and will definately be back !

this hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was basic and the bathroom we had was the smallest I had ever seen! The pool was nice and Sky in the bar helped kill time in the evening. Overall a nice little hotel.

Great hotel
01 November 2007
I booked this hotel for a half term break with my 2 daughters aged 15 and 12 after reading the reviews here. It is excellent value, very clean and well serviced. Tony and Peter were helpful but not intrusive. If you're looking for organised activities, and reps persuading you to go on trips, then the Golf Beach is not for you. Alternatively, if you want a simple, clean, hotel in a great location (the "posher" end of Santa Ponsa, in my opinion) then you cannot beat the Golf Beach. On the down side, breakfast is served 7.30 am to 9.30 am and is very basic and I didn't think it worth rushing down for. However, with what you saved on accommodation you can afford to treat yourself to a nice leisurely breakfast at one of the many eating establishments. We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone on the above basis. PS Hi to Jennifer (Peter's friend)

EXCELLENT HOTEL
26 October 2007
We ( 2 couples) have just returned from the Golf Beach. This is our 3rd time staying in this hotel, cant rate it high enough , Tony and Peter cant do enough for you, all the staff are very friendly. The whole hotel from bedrooms to public areas are spotlessly clean, well done to the housekeepers. The pool area is excellent you never have to worry about getting a sunbed there are plenty, any time of the day. The hotel is very handy for all the restaurants and bars , the beach is only a short walk away and no hill to climb all on the flat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for value and comfort. Thank you again Peter and Tony for all your help we will see you again next year. Looking forward to it already.

15 September 2007
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at golf beach, and was really surprised at how nice this hotel was and how friendly the staff are, the rooms where cleaned every day and the rooms were lovely. The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach and all the bars and resturants , the only downfall was the breakfast but what do you expect for the price i would definitely recommened this hotel and will use again!!

Exactly what was required
10 September 2007
Having just returned from 6 nights in the Golf Beach Hotel along with 7 other middle aged golfers, I feel it would be remiss of me not to compliment both the Hotel and it's friendly staff. We never expected The Savoy having paid only £130 each for B & B. The Hotel was very clean and tidy and the rooms were serviced each day. The beds were a bit on the short side if you are over 6 feet tall but to be honest after a few beers each night it didn't worry us too much!!!. I would reccommend this hotel as a good base for golfers who like to socialise as it is within short taxi distance of several courses and also walking distance from all the local bars and restaurants. Our group would definately return to this hotel in the future. Well done Peter and Tony you run a good ship.

Excellant value for money!
30 August 2007
We were pleasantly suprised. Having booked this 2 star hotel on a budget for a quiet getaway with two other young wives and mothers, I was not expecting the Golf Beach to be as grand as it was. A lovely mini hotel ideal for friends, families and couples alike.

Take your own Wake Up Call
29 August 2007
Hotel very clean, good refurbished rooms. Breakfast reasonable value but after three days thought there could have been a bit more variety. One man seems to run both the reception and the ball and its gets a bit annoying when he is serving customers at the bar and you have to wait ages at the receptions desk. However my overall complaint was that on the evening before our 8 am departure we booked an early morning call for 7.15. This did not happen. Luckily I set my mobile phone as a back up. This was unreliable and when challenged the man on duty pretended not to speak any English. Missing the flight could have proved a costly experience.

What a surprise!
06 August 2007
Having booked a 2 star hotel on a budget our expectations were not that high - what a wonderful surprise we received when we arrived at the Golf Beach. We did wonder if the taxi driver had got the right hotel.
The hotel offered excellent service from check in to check out, friendly staff were on hand 24 hours a day, the rooms were spotlessly cleaned every day - a credit to the maids! and the pool area, although small supplied enough sun beds for all day sun, we never struggled to get a bed regardless of the time of day we arrived at the pool.
Who ever rates the hotels needs to go back and visit again, I have stayed at higher rated hotels and had a much worse experiences!!!
can't wait to return

Great value for money
24 July 2007
My friend and I have just returned from Santa Ponsa and would definitely recommend tis hotel as great value for money.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, the pool is clean and well maintained and the bathroom immaculate. The hotel staff are lovely and really friendly.
The breakfast is basic, cereal, toast and coffee, but is sets you up for the day, and there are plenty of places nearby to get a great cheap full english breakfast if you fancy something more.
The only downside is the lack of air conditioning, the rooms are unbearably hot at night and I ended up sleeping on the balcony some nights !! If this hotel had air con it would be a 5 star review.

Holiday
14 July 2007
Just spent 12 days at Golf Beach. Very clean and staff very friendly. One complaint is that rooms get very warm at night and a noisy ceiling fan does not do the job. Breakfast very basic and not too much choice. Would not recommend visiting Santa Ponsa in July if you not used to a lot of teenagers getting blind drunk every night who are then very noisy on their return to wherever they are staying. Recommend Duke of York and Amigo Mexican Restaurant for excellent food.

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
17 October 2006
The Golf Beach offered a warm welcome to Santa Ponsa with it's 'homely' atmosphere. The room was spacious, decorated with pretty wall prints, extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast offered an enjoyable cereal, toast and coffee, a delicious start to the day. Poolside was very quiet and relaxing and offered snack and drinks facility. The bar area was very enjoyable with TV and pool table. Peter the barman was very nice and we enjoyed our weeks stay and hope to return very soon! Thank You Golf Beach for a lovely relaxing stay! Top Marks!

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
27 September 2006
The Golf Beach is 2 star, but deserves three. It is modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is very well located for the beach and the main commercial areas, all of which are within 5 minutes walk. The bus stops to Palma and Paguera are also close by.There is a 24 hr bar, serving excellent draught San Miguel! The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Minus points, although they did not detract from our stay as we were able to make alternative arrangements, are that the breakfasts are very basic Continental with no extras, and the commission on travellers cheques is an excessive 5%. It is possible to get this down to 2% within a two minute walk.
All in all, very enjoyable and certainly good value for money.

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
29 August 2006
The Golf Beach greatly exceeded our expectations for a budget priced hotel, having already stayed at varying types of apartments in Majorca. From the palm tree lined avenue into the gleaming smokefree reception/bar area, I felt that we had chosen wisely. This was confirmed by the hearty welcome from the manager and the ensuing friendliness and diligence of all the staff.Although we did not eat in the hotel, too late for breakfast, every other aspect was first class, and we would have no hesitation in returning at any time.It was phenomenally hot during our stay, causing the south facing room to bake during the day,so we hired a couple of fans for comfort.Air conditioning would have made this a budget price Nirvana.even at an extra cost.In short, muy bueno.

I stayed at the golf beach hotel with my 7 year old daughter. We shared a twin room it had a small bathroom and a ceiling fan. The room was very clean and nice. The hotel breakfast was very basic. The pool was small and uncrowded, the pool area was a good suntrap. The bar had sky television and a pool table. The bar stayed open late. I have been visiting Santa Ponsa for the past sixteen years. There is somthing for everyone there. Our favourite place is the square which is a half hour walk uphill. At the square there is a childrens disco everynight followed by live entertainment. We got a taxi home for 5 euro's. There are some lovely restaurants that overlook the bay and conveniently for children there is a mcdonalds on the beach.

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
07 May 2006
We stayed at the Golf Beach Hotel, Santa Ponsa for one week in April 2006. This is a spotlessly clean, modern hotel which offers excellent value for money in the 2 star category. Staff were friendly and helpful, the swimming pool excellent and the hotel location was quiet at nightime but close enough to reach the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants easily. All rooms have private bathroom and terrace. The breakfast provided is basic, continental but is adequate for a budget hotel. There are bar snacks available but no separate restaurant at the hotel. We found fantastic value and good food at the Rhein Restaurant in the same road as the Golf Beach but further into town opposite the Bahia de Sol Hotel. The Golf Beach's location is handy for the local buses. All in all, this is a lovely resort and the Golf Beach Hotel is an excellent choice for any independent traveller who wants a good deal.

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
22 October 2005
Very clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked bed and breakfast, but I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast. It is right on the mainroad and 5 mins walking distance from the beach and supermarket. There are parking spaces on the road outside the hotel, but beware! It's a disk zone! Don't forget to put the time you arrived on your dashboard or it will cost you 60 Euros!

Review of 'GOLF BEACH'
20 July 2005
Just arrived back from a 4 night break at the Golf Beach Hotel, overall the hotel is great value for money, very centrally located for both the nightlife and beach. We were having a girls holiday and for what we wanted it was ideal clean, central and cheap! No frills but what can you expect for the price! The pool area is nice, generally quiet in the morning when all the youngsters are sleeping off the night before!! But we never had a problem getting a sunbed at any time of the day! I would definitely say this hotel is particularly suited to youngish groups and couples not so much for families as can be very noisy at night. As a group we would definitely return.

Very nice hotel indeed! However, the road outside is quite noisy!! The staff are very friendly. The hotel is very close to the beach and all the amenities, bars, supermarkets! Very good value for money (being a student, the price seemed particularly attractive!) There is no TV or radio - but you don't need this when there is so much going on around you! The beach nearby is fantastic - sandy and stretches for miles! Just returned and am booking to go back already!
