Room was clean and tidy on arrival. Breakfast was good. Great rates!

The only problem was that the receptionist was unable to find confirmation of my booking when I arrived at the hotel, but they let me stay anyway until they resolved the problem.

I feel that Golden Arches poorly handled this administration issue. They kept asking me for information (I had already given them the booking voucher), taking up my holiday time, when they should have contacted alpharooms.

We stayed for a week at the golden arches 07/09/05. Recently repainted room, dusty furnishings but bathroom clean. Perfectly adequate. Breakfast plentiful and varied. Beautiful pool area, immaculate clean water. Staff very friendly, no problems occurred. We were guests at a wedding reception held there for 1000 people. Food excellent. Only problem was with an all inclusive party of 11,  very drunk and abusive to staff on their last night, but effectively handled by Costas at reception.  Well situated hotel 5 km out of the hustle of Limassol, but with plenty of bars and restaurants around. The tombs pub to the right of the hotel very amenable. Both restaurants to left of hotel - good food. Best beach around is governors beach half way between limassol and larnaca, with lawned restaurants skirting beach with beds/parasols. Water and sand beautiful and clean. Alpha rooms were quick and easy to deal with, the hotel was fairly represented, good price and if in the same area, we would use this hotel again.

Golden Arches is a perfect location just from the beach, room clean and nice, bath a bit small. Staff in Hotel friendly and helpful, food nice but a bit bland..eg meat spuds etc. Weather lovely and pool clean. Only down side was the entertainment at night wasnt very good, we stayed for a week and they had two nights of crooning from the guests...sore head! Drinks at hotel were local and cherry brandy my fav, measures are large.Local bars are good we liked the Hamlet ten mins walk to right of hotel, full of locals but cocktails yummy and crisps etc served free. Coach trip to Trodos not very good we were on coach all day but mountains are lovely, went to Papos for the day this is really nice. Beautiful fish restrauant beside amathus hotel on the beach, very romantic a bit pricey but worth it for a special treat, over all a good hotel but be prepared to venture out at night time for entertainment.

Family of 3 (toddler) staying for a week at this hotel on B&B basis.

I agree with most of what Iouri Ostrovski had to say with the following divergences:

1. The hotel's own website states that the hotel was renovated in 2004. I think that this lost something in the translation from Greek, as what they should have written was that the hotel last saw a lick of paint in 2004! Everything there is a bit dated, but it was still very good value for a cheap getaway.

2. On arrival we asked for the floor to be hoovered as it was grubby and sandy. We dislike carpetted hotel floors as they retain dirt etc. They hoovered right away though.

3. We often sought assistance from the reception staff and found them usually helpful. The one disgraceful exception was when I pointed out that the shaving socket in the bathroom was not working and was firstly told that it would be fixed the next day, and subsequently told, after complaining that it hadn't been fixed, that they were all like that in the hotel. They weren't! For the rooms affected, the choice was to use an adaptor in the room (unacceptable), or move rooms (unneeded hassle when you've already unpacked). Complained about being deceived, but no apology! Other than that 1 incident, all staff were pleasent and helpful.

4. Air con worked, but is old and not particularly efficient.......a cold beer worked better!

5. Local fruit juices from the supermarket are excellent quality and value. Shame that the hotel doesn't think so, but you can always do a DIY at breakfast, as a tourist supermarket is next door.

I went to GA on business trip for 3 days on B&B. I have seen lot of negative remarks on different sites about GA and All inclusive. My experience is NOT about AI.
Hotel is very clean: rooms, lobby, bathroom. Air conditioning working very well. The size of my room for two was quite OK, with a little balcony with a table which is a nice feature. Limited choice of TV channels: 3-4 in greek, Eurosport and BBC World, TV Polonia. The hotel has a big nice swimming pool (rather shallow 1.50 meters deepest) and a small one for children, lot of sunbeds. Breakfast is very reasonable if you are not allergic to a british breakfast (eggs & bacon, beans); otherwise there is ham, cheese, cornflakes (4 types -quite OK), yohurts, bread (4 types -good), honey and jam, some fruits, tea and coffee. I would say that for 3* hotel it is more than enough. The only bad thing is a juice: it is plain coloured water. But it is only regret. Hotel is situated on the main beach road of Limassol and may be a little bit noisy but less than it could have been expected. Another "negative" point is that the sea is accross the road and you need to walk 100 meters in order to go there. But it is not really a trouble (the only thing is that you won't get the sunbeds on the beach.
Staff seems Ok but I hadn't a lot of opportunities to speak with them.
Only one negative moment during my stay of 3 days: the water in the sink didn't pass through, and after my complaint it went down less slowly than before but it wasn't what you expect normally. I think they sent someone with a mechanical device but what was needed was a chemical one.
Booking with Alpharooms was a real pleasure: simple, fast, confiramtion in a minute, invoice and voucher in a half an hour. No any trouble on arrival.
