Absolutely brilliant. Would definitely go back to this hotel. Spotlessly clean. Room made up every day with fresh towels. Breakfast great with hot & cold food. Missed coffee/tea making facility in room but not a major problem. Metro station 2mins walk. Had meal at Koliba rest. next door to hotel and had great meal with local musicians playing at table! Resttaurant in hotel had great food and cheapest we saw anywher as was their drink prices. Live music in club bar of hotel which we were even up dancing to. They must have been good!! Can't say too many good things about this hotel but we loved it.

Globus
25 October 2007
3 nights £58 for 2 people bed and breakfast, we didnt expect much but were pleasantly surprised, the Globus was perfect, clean, comfortable and close to the tram station. Staff were very helpfull, my friend fell walking back to the hotel and broke her leg, so the downside was the dark walk back up the hill after a night out, would definately return, but with travel insurance this time :)

Globus Hotel
08 September 2007
Hotel and room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.Buffet breakfast to suit everyone. Staff were helpfull.Local supermarket 'Albert' was a 5mins walk away, it sold everything - a bottle of beer was 5 ck!
Location was picturesque, slight hill down to metro. From hotel to Prague centre was 25 mins of interesting travel. We would definately return to this hotel.

Review of 'Globus'

We chose the Globus because of the good reviews on this site, and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were large and clean, as was the rest of the hotel itself. There was a good choice for the buffet breakfast - cereals, toast, bread rolls, cheese, ham etc., and you can eat as much as you like.
The metro station is nearby, although coming back to the hotel is an uphill walk which I found quite steep (not many hills where I live), especially after a day's sightseeing!
The hotel had a mix of guests from businessmen to schoolchildren to tourists like us.
We paid £75 for 2 people for 3 night's B&B, and we most definitely got a bargain!
I'm looking forward to returning to Prague and I would certainly book this hotel again.

Review of 'Globus'

We chose the Globus because of its location outside the city centre and because of its reasonable price. Although there are high-rise flats near the hotel, there are amazing walks in the forest behind the hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and the bedrooms, although basic, are large with separate bathroom and cleaned every day. We were lucky enough to have a room on the top floor with a balcony and a lovely view of the forest. As it snowed one night, we had a wonderful Christmas card view from the balcony in the morning. The buffet breakfast was fine with a good choice but some toast would have been lovely! Unless you have half board you cannot eat in the hotel in the evening but there is a bar attached which does meals. The location of the metro station Roztyly, five minutes away and the easy access to the centre of Prague (about 15 - 20 minutes) was ideal for us. There is also a massive shopping centre nearby (Chodov - about 15 minutes walk) which has all the top name stores plus fast-food outlets. While we were there, there were several school groups also staying in the hotel. This was not a problem for us as it provided pleanty of people-watching opportunities, but it might be off-putting for some people.

Review of 'Globus'

.I have stayed at the Globus several times. It is always clean, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The Globus is situated on the edge of the Kunratice forest which is wonderful for walking in. I'm told there are some old ruins somewhere deep in the forest but I have yet to find them. Metro is 5 minutes walk away, the trains are frequent and it only takes 15/20 mins to get to the centre of Prague. The only thing wrong with it is the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. If you book a single room at single price, you still get a large twin room, not the cupboard you get in some hotels. There are some very good rates through some of the agencies and Globus is very good value for money.

Review of 'Globus'

Everything in previous reviews I agree with and more. The Globus is in an excellent location. Easy and quick access to the city by metro which is easy to use. We liked being out of the centre at night. It was quiet and the rooms were spotless. Being a cold blooded person and travelling in February I worried that I would be cold at night but that fear went unfounded. The rooms were warm with easy to control radiators which I needed to turn down!
We visited the nearby Koliba restaurant each night and the food was excellent. We were serenaded by the string quartet who play there each night. A good two course meal costs between 600-800 Kc (approx £15-20) for two including drinks and the atmosphere and service is superb.
We travelled to the hotel by taxi (800 Kc) but used our travel tickets to return so the journey back to the airport cost nothing. We took the C-line from the hotel to Muzuem and changed to the green line (end of line marked Dejuicka). Right outside the station we caught the 119 bus straight to the airport (just follow everyone with suitcases!). You can't go wrong. The whole journey took about an hour.

The Globus is a good hotel - you get what you pay for!
We arrived on Christmas Eve and had a little bit of trouble getting to the hotel from the airport, eventually got the express bus to Nadrazi Holesovice and then the Metro. We also struggled to get any food at the hotel so for the first night had beer & crisps. The Koliba restaurant nearby was good.
Breakfast was a buffet selection which was varied. One odd thing on the buffet was chilled baked beans which didn't appeal to me but everything else was tasty. Why people complain that continental breakfasts are different to English breakfasts is beyond me, you're in a different country of course things are different and most european hotels don't have tea making facilities either. Rant over.
It takes 12 minutes on the metro to get to the city centre. The walk from the metro station to the hotel in the dark can be a little bit daunting - I would recommend taking a small pocket torch.
Went to Triton Restaurant in city centre for Christmas Dinner. It was fantastic.
Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. I was really dubious beforehand that because it was so cheap the hotel would be awful but in fact it was a 3 star hotel and was absolutely lovely.
The room was basic but big with great sized single beds pushed together which didn't feel like two single beds pushed together.
The breakfast was great, a whole variety of foods to suit all tastes and as much as you could eat.
The staff were friendly and very happy to help out and especially with pronunciation of the language!
There is a supermarket a few minutes walk from the hotel and the metro station (Roztyly) is just down the hill.
We had a fantastic time in Prague and the fact we were staying in such a nice hotel made the trip even better. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone, I would suggest though that you book through an agency like alpha rooms as it is extremely expensive to book directly through the hotel.
