Florida Magalluf

Stayed at the florida Magaluf for a week with my teenage sons. The hill was steep but managable of you havent got amy walking difficulties, but the hotel was well worth the hill when you got there. The location was convinient for the beaches and the bars. Rooms were spacious and clean with the most amazing views of the sea. Staff were very helpful and always friendly. Returning in September with the girls.

Got back from holiday yesterday after a week of wonderful weather in Magaluf. The hotel is another story!!! We were not allocated a room in the main building which was much nicer and appeared to be reserved for French & Spanish only. Stayed in the annex (average age 18) and really not suitable for us. The room was very clean and the views spectacular, no air conditioning but a noisy ceiling fan that just blows around warm air! The noise all night long was unbelievable. Do not stay at this hotel for a rest!!! The lifts and corridors etc were in need of decor and some idiot kept breaking the lift, 6 floors up for breakfast or evening meal! The pool is really small for a hotel of this size and bring an alarm clock if you want to get a sun lounger around the pool. We managed to get there one day and the sun loungers next to me had towels on them from 8am but no turned up to use them until 4 pm. Management should stop this practice or make people pay for reserved sun loungers. Staff were okay but didn't go out of their way to provide good customer service. The resort bars, restaurants etc all local and the hill is a killer for the first few days but you do get used to it. Food was okay but virtually same menu every night, missed breakfast most days. Also you can't pick where you want to sit in the hotel restaurant - you are allocated your seats for the duration of your stay. Thankfully we were seated on a table with a really nice couple who were from England. Not a bad hotel, clean and great views of the bay, but definitely for younger people who may want to stay up all night!

group of us stayed at this hotel. The reception was lovely and clean although when allocated our rooms we noticed we was in a separate building from the main one which we had to enter through a fire exit. When walking to our rooms the hallways where very dark and we was all unimpressed. Got into our rooms and was suprised at how nice it was and the view from the balcony was absolutly gorgeous! The building we stayed in was full of young adults and got quite noisey at night but as we are young adults ourselves we didnt really mind this! The hill on the other hand wasnt so bad after a few drinks and if you just think of the calories your losing you will no doubt happily plod along! Magaluff is amazing although i wouldnt stay in this hotel again..the food is horrible and was dissapointing. defo not for families espesh if your in the building we was in.

Just back from Magalluf, fantastic hotel, stayed here few years ago but room in main building this time and fews were even better. The hills a killer but after a few bevys it doesn't bother you. Def stay here again.

What a view it was beautiful. Food fantastic and staff too. Definatly a good hotel for young groups as you are at the top of a hill so not for the less able, can be quite noisy throughout the night and right at the top of the strip of bars/clubs. Would definatly go back!

this hotel is great value for money. Good location 2 minute walk away from the bars and clubs. Great swimming pool, clean rooms, great veiws from room, exellent, organised reception staff, good food. There is a hill that you have to walk up to get back from the bars but not really a problem. If i was to go back to Magaluf i would definately return to this hotel.

really pleased with this hotel. We had a short three day break and will definately go back, great views, although we had a gull's nest on our roof which kept me awake all night and the sound of the waves is very noisey but if you've had a skin full this probably wont bother you!. I am looking at staying here next month also. Book the Florida!

I have been going to magaluf for the past 15 years and have stayed at many different hotels, I booked this as last minute thing & for the price (just wanted a couple of cheap days away) & have to say it was superb one of the best i have been to but much cheaper. Cleanliness was fantastic as was the Pool, The hill is not as bad as people make out either it thought it was a good bit of exercise to burn off those extra calories holidays are known to put on!!!

Could not fault this hotel, Rooms lovely and clean, staff very pleasant, gorgeous view from balcony, food was very nice. 5-10 min walk into bars and nightlife, bit hairy getting up and down hill in high heels but well worth it, and usually a nice taxi driver willing to take you up for free!! Would definaltely recommend this hotel to people! Worth every penny!

returned on 02/05/08 from the florida.the hotel is well under rated should be at least 4 star.the food is of 5 star quality well presented, and plenty of it, the staff make everyone welcome and make a point of learning english to help with any problems you may have if any.the rooms are large,clean and tidy and include tv should you want to watch with english itv channels,also hair dryer,shampoo,and all other basic items at no extra charge.the views from the room, the bar,the pool and resturant are just fantastic,the hotel is children friendly and caters for all ages.you are at most 10 mins from the centre of everything in magaluf or palma nova i can find no fault with the hotel it was well managed and well presented in every way.the only downside is the hill on your way back to the hotel,the fantastic views more than compensate for this.i travell 8 times a year to magaluf and used the sol group of hotels not any more i shall be using this hotel in all future visits.

Excellent value for money, good size rooms and good food. 6 of us stayed a week and not one complaint. Will definitely not be afraid to stay there again. Note wouldn'y want to push a pram or wheel chair up the hill, its ok for the able bodied.

Stayed for 6 nights. Hiccup on first night as they had booked us all (4 Mature adults)into a 4 bedded room,no more rooms available till 11 next morning,therefore 2 of us had to be taxied to another hotel for the night. This also happened to another couple, so the hotel must have been overbooked. After this, we had no complaints. Rooms, food,bar were excellent and the view from the rooms were stunning. Was'nt looking forward to 'THE HILL' but if 4 fifty year olds - one had heart attack, one asthmatic and 2 smokers can do it anyone can. Hotel is in a great location for both Magaluf andPalma Nova , there was a mix of young and old staying there, but no noise at night. Would use this hotel again.

Stayed at this hotel Sep 18th for 3 nights. This is one of the best hotels i have stayed in Magaluf(and Spain), the only downside for me was the lack of air con(there was a ceiling fan) and you were allocated tables for breakfast and dinner(very little niggles) the food at tea time was good for a Spanish hotel(the Salmon was nice) and the staff friendly. Another plus for me was that for 15 euros you can keep your room on until midnight if you have a late flight. Would go back no problems! Oh yes, and the view from the room was fantastic. We were a group of 18 females for a two night stay, well what can we say, the hotel was fantastic, very clean and modern, gorgeous rooms that looked like had been updated and the views were fabulous, fantastic power shower, we had seven rooms booked and no fault was found, we commented on how fantastic a find it was and would certainly return. Our only problem was not every room was ready on our arrival at 11am, but within two hours we were sorted, a slight hiccup but we donned our bikinis and sat arond the bar terrace and had a few drinks in the glorious sunshine until the rooms were ready. The food was excellent, I have stayed in many three star hotels, but the Florida wins hands down, plenty for everyone and on our second night the chef was carving roast beef, it was fab. Everyone complains about the hill, ok there is a hill and some of our group did complain, and if you are unfit or had buggy to push you may find it a problem, but at the age of 41 I found it quite easy, maybe a problem with high heels on, but I don't know what all the fuss is about, it certainly wouldn't put me off going back, but the plus of being high up is that the views from your hotel room are wow! Although this hotel is used alot for stag/hen nights, we expected alot of noise at all hours, but not the case, both nights we had a good nights sleep.

My party of 8 Stags have just returned from a long weekend at the Hotel Florida. Everything went great, all rooms were ready for us on arrival at 10am! The food was more than sufficient and all staff very helpful. If you don't like hills beware, as you'll need to stumble back up one to the hotel at the end of a long day/night. Overall a thoroughly recommended hotel, especially for groups of lads/girls. Thanks Alpharooms ;-)

We have just returned from 12 days stay at the Florida. Words are not enough to describe the best 3+* hotel that we have had the pleasure to stay at.From the start we were made to feel most welcome by the friendly nature of all the staff, the maid on our floor was always bright and cheerful, we cannot thank her too much. The restaurant was an absolute pleasure to eat in, we had our own table for breakfast and dinner, the food and staff were absolutely fabulous.We will always stay at this hotel when in Majorca.

What a great value for money hotel this is. Comfy beds, good food,great pool, clean rooms and we had fantastic views out to sea from our balcony. We had mates staying in town and they we're GUTTED we had only paid £6 a night more for our stay for my stag do as there hotel was a hovel. Fantastic value for money and thoroughly recommended for all to use.

Going to Magulluf with a group of men I was apprehensive over the accommodation I’d booked, given the star rating e.g. Alpharooms say 3* other sites say 1* and with a half board price at a very competitive rate I was the butt of a few jokes. The hotel is at the top of a hill consider this factor when booking, that being said more importantly it’s in a quiet suburb just off the centre of town, 10 minutes walking distance to the centre of Magalluf and 5-10 minutes from Palma Nova. I booked a party of twelve and can honestly say to a man we were impressed at our reception to the hotel, each of the six rooms we occupied had the most fantastic sea views, staff are courteous and food was of a high standard with choice and variety at each sitting both breakfast and evening meal. The nearest beaches are 10 minutes walk away but the main sun terrace and pool area made for a sun trap second to none with glorious views to boot. Night life is what Magalluf is about and again late in September we were not disappointed. I would rate this a 3*+ hotel, our stay a 4* holiday and I’ve been told to book the same hotel next year, see you there.

2nd time staying at the Florida. Food, service and cleanliness all excellent. In a good position at the top of the hill, bars and nightlife at the bottom of the hill if you want lively entertainment.The hill is quite steep but took mother last year 77yrs old. Taxi up hill cost 2 - 3 euros. We would definately go again.

Stayed at Hotel Florida from 13-20 July 06. Rooms were clean, didn't get up in time for breakfast, but the dinner was excellent every night. Loads of choice. Hotel is 5 minute walk from the main bars, but it is fairly quiet at night. Hotel is up a steep hill but there are a few bars to break the walk up!!
We had a really great time, best bar to go to is Pascha's, entertainment is great (Madonna & Blues Bros best).
We have all said we would go back.... Looking for flights now.
