Booked a 2 bed apartment through alpha rooms.com. Upon arrival we were told our request for a 2 bed apartment in main section with restaurant, bar and pool could not be granted. There are no 2 bed apartments in this section. The hotel were not accomodating. Alpha rooms would not give us a refund. We were very disappointed. No kettle in the room either we had to ask reception for this. At least the weather was nice. The hotel entertainment was poor. There was also a lot of noise at the rear of our apartments with rubbish being collected at 6.00/7.00 in the morning. Don't see us staying there again.

Good value

20 January 2010
Great value hotel. Food was better than expected with a good variety. Staff friendly and accomodation adequate. Entertainment diabolical - We where all inclusive but the entertainment or lack of it would drive you into the local bars! Kids disco consisted of the same three songs followed by an hour of Kylie - the kids disco is in the main arena - so we all have to listen to this noise! Another night the "surprise party" was a game of Bingo that we all had to pay 5 euros to enter, just to win a bottle of wine! Clearly the Managment do not wish to encourage you to use the bar faclilities - apart from the awfull entertainment - no problems

Booked Studio, very small and broken toaster and no kettle, dead cockroach very visable when i entered the room first, the room was not checked before i arrived as there was dust everywhere plus the dead insect, the insulation to the room next door is very very poor, i could hear the conversations of my neighbours never mind the radio and tv. I found Cockroaches many times throughout my ten day stay, i even found one in the fridge, dont know how it got there, very little plates and one glass , one cup was supplied. Would not go back even dough i made the most of my stay, location was great for exercising as on the top of a hill which i liked.

You get what you pay for!

14 December 2009
Our room was a great location (115) sea-view, pool-view and we got the most sun. The rooms; spacious, dated clean. We also had a kitchen which was great because although we were AI my children didn't like the food. Breakfast was pretty standard, snacks were breakfasts left-over cakes. Lunch and dinner there was always salad, soup and fries and a choice of two dishes one fish and one meat. I have stayed at many AI hotels and this one was the worst for food. Entertainment; there was a diffrent show almost every night such as birds of pray, reptiles and flemeco dancing, all watchable but very low budget. You can have your photograph taken with the animals, which seam to be thrown from one person to another. Mini disco at 8.30 although there wasn't many children the entertainment guy made the few children feel very special and had all the audience in stitches. The pool is FREEZING, so if you're taking little one's make sure you pack a wet suite or take plenty toys etc because the pool is basically a no-go area. All I can say is 'you get what you pay for' Very basic but clean'.

Winter Break

12 December 2009
We stayed at the Flora Apartments from 4th December for one week, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, good sized apartments, cleaned regularly, food very good, (even for the fussiest person there was something to eat) would go back again, only thing did not like was the local gin etc, prefered gordons but when i asked for one they charged me 5 euros

Having stayed in this Hotel previously and been very happy with standards, I have to say on this occasion that was not the case. Having booked for a 1 bed appartment through Alpharooms we were given a Studio. I don't know if this was the fault of the Hotel or the booking agency. We were in room 370 which turned out to be very run down. The floor tiles were broken and in a very dangerous state. The shower hanger was hanging off the wall. The decoration was in a poor state.

we (five) mature adults under 48 had a great time at the flora. the accom had all that is required for your holiday.a bit hot at night due to no air con but we kept the window open and that helped. food was great.the salad bar was really good.you will never be hungry or thirsty. bottom pool was very busy but we wewnt to the top pool.very deep but if you are good swimmer again no problem.if you want a quieter time ask for the top pool accom. booked through alpha rooms and everything was great.we booked the taxi through them and a hugh bus turned up for just us so no probs getting to and from the airport. are planning to go every three months and would def.go back o flora

Got back 4/09/09 from a very enjoyable holiday. The apartments were excellent, very clean, quiet and in a central location. We have stayed in the Majones area further up the hill on a previous holiday so were fully aware of what to expect when climbing the hill. Although we managed this with ease as did our two children aged 7 and 9. Our apartment was situated on the opposite side of the road through the tunnel which we found preferential as the pool area was quieter and we able to have a sunbed every day unlike at the other pool. The apartments would benefit from air conditioning and we would definitely pay extra for this if it was available. For excellent food and a warm welcome visit the Purple Turtle situated on the left as you go down the hill. We were nevery diappointed. Would also recommend the bingo/quiz night for good fun for all the family. And musnt forget to mention the excellent home made steak pie and roast dinners. If you are after just a quiet we would recommend either Chadwicks further down the hill on the right or the Melting Pot in the square on the left as you go down past Bodega towards the Old Harbour. For a special meal we would definitely recommend Bodeca which is situated in the Irish mile near the Old Harbour. Excellent food and surroundings - a little more pricey than other places but well worth the money. Overall an excellent holiday and look forward to going back again soon.

Good Spot

03 July 2009
Just back from the Flora. Really had a lovely time. The location is great just a short stroll to the old town. You have two choices of pools with the one in the Flora II being the more quieter. Only annoying thing was the cats and people feeding them right outside the apartment. Excellent selection of bars ect in the old town. We found a great place on the road down to the old town called The Red Rose Cafe. Really good value for breakfast lunch and dinner.....you can get a dinner and a pint for €7.50. All the food is home made. The owners Peter and Alison are really friendly and welcoming.

Excellent value

28 May 2009
We stayed all inclusive 10th to 24th May 2009. This hotel was only 2keys on the local hotel rating but was a good 3star Hotel. Very clean everywhere in the hotel and friendly staff. Room service almost daily with fresh towels. The breakfast choice is excellent. Lunch and evening meal are 4 course if you want with soup, fresh salads, fish and meat choices plus usually a pasta choice or paella or a local dish for example. Sweet options are limited but very nice including fresh fruit. If you like prepacked processed food all the time and pie's etc this is not for you. Very good value!!

Basic but clean and tidy

24 March 2009
We stayed at the Flora apartments from 25th Feb - 4th March 2009 on HB basis. The food was a little disappointing and not really that much to choice from, bt ok for a weeks stay. We dined in the restaurant the first few mornings/evenings and then decided to dine at the local restaurants, situated down the bank and on the main road. The rooms are basic but clean (even though I did have to ask the receptionist to advise housekeeping to change the towels and the bedding) Pool area clean and well equipped but the WATER VERY COLD, so brace yourself. All in all the hotel was fine and just what we needed for a break. Situated at the top of a long steep hill, not very good for people with walking difficulties. Go to McGinty's Bar, half way down the bank, on the left, next to the supermarket, great night out if you like karoke. Many descent restaurants situated on the walk down the bank, the main one that sticks in my mind, is situated just off the roundabout, first restaurant on the left, excellent value for money, good service. Also go to the harbour, bottom of the bank, turn right and follow the road, lovely views, good restaurants.

stayed in flora on march 3rd when we arrived we were on the main road opposite the main hotel which was a rubbish location i complained to the staff and the next morning they moved us over to the main hotel which was a lot better if you can its better to stay at the main hotel section because the other section is not so good but saying that we were on the main rd with a tiny sitting area there was better locations behind us. all in all a good hotel, staff were quite helpful and the rooms were clean with maids cleaning everyday. would stay there again.

Loved the Flora

18 March 2009
Just back fron THB Flora 14th March 09. Can not fault this hotel. The check in staff to the bar/dining staff the cleaning staff and even the gardeners were all so friendly. The food was very good not a hugh amount of choice as in 5* star hotels but we did'nt pay for a a5* hotel.Plenty of salads (which i love) choice of 3-4 different meats every sitting which were all lovely and well presented, desert choice sml but just as well we may have ate too much otherwise. The rooms were lovely studio small but we only showered and slept there so efficient for us. The grounds are beautiful and the tunnel under the road a real feature of these apartments i thought it was fabelous and as safe as could be and beautifully decorated with timber overhead and very well lite up. I hopefully will be going back end of June with our 2 daughters 13&15 yrs..The cardiac hill as its called well the people that named it that must be very unfit we didnt find it bad at all there is a hill to the right & left of roundabout the left is a doddle the right is v steep but theres no need to use that hill they end up a cpl of meters apart at the end. So thank you Flora for a lovely accomodation and food & drink supplied see you all again soon

Flora apt. where really impressive, Me & my partner were shocked to see how clean the apt block was and how clean the staff maintained the place, clean towels every morning and the apt was brushed out and mopped everyday. If you dont mind a walk all the bars and resturants are only a short walk away, although the hills can be testing on the way home after a few beers but the location I was ideal for us. The only disappoint fact of my flora apt was that we had a 2 singles beds pushed together in place of a double bed only a minor issue which didnt bother me to much. Thumbs up for the FLORA would definitely recommend & would stay again

We have stayed at your apartments a few times now,and we have booked to come again on the 15th march for a fortnight 'Hooray'. We stayed in your apartments opposite side of the road. The first time we stayed there we were up by the pool, in the top row apartments overlooking the pool.

Spent Christmas and New Year in the Flora apts can't say a bad word about the place, had my two sons with me 10 and 11 they had a ball must thank yens and marecka for that, warm enough for the Irish skin but got cold at night, had a 1 bedroom apt very clean staff all very friendly had no problems, put on a fab Christmas dinner in the resturant which was great, resturant was excellent with plenty of food for every taste, plenty of pubs and other resturants around all fairly cheap, mind the hill though when you go down it you have to go back up and if your like me & drive everywhere you will feel every inch of it! ha! Cabs are cheap anyway about 3 euro, we had a wonderful holiday so we are going back again I would reccommend the Flora.

Exactly what it says on the tin

20 October 2008
Recently come back from a girlie getaway in the Flora. We were all inclusive which was good value for money, food was fine, everywhere was clean and everything you could ask for, I have stayed there self catering years ago and i think it has improved since then. We were in the Flora II part of the complex (across the road from the main part but joined by an under the road tunnel). Much quieter and relaxing at that end which was nice as depending on what we fancied that day to which pool we went, the main area could get a bit rowdy and busy but a great atmosphere! We had a 1 bed appt which was great, friends had a studio which are a bit on the small size so I would pay the little extra for the appt. The Hill isnt as bad as it looks or people say and there are a lot of shops and bars on the way!! The main strip is a nice walk away, we would then have a taxi back costing around 3 euros! It is a pity about the building work at the harbour but still worth a visit. We will be back!

Great Time Again

16 September 2008
This was our 7th visit to the Flora and we are already looking forward to our 8th. It offers great value for money and although it sits at the top of a fairly steep hill you soon get used to the walk(and strangely enough it is so much easier after a few drinks). If you have any walking difficulties (or are just a lazy git) Taxis are pretty reasonable so don't be put off. The staff are a decent friendly bunch and you are made to feel very welcome from start to finish. In previous years we had opted for a studio but this time we went for a one bedroomed apartment which was worth the extra money. We also took advantage of the breakfast deal they have offering free days and this proved to be an ideal start to each day as the food was well presented and tasty. All in all I should thoroughly recommend the Flora but I won't because my fear is that if I tell too many people how good it is then they'll all book up and there'll be no space for us.

Will be back again

06 September 2008
Visited this establishment several times over the past 2 years, and as other reviewers have stated, the apartments are clean, have regular maid service, every 2nd day, and provide a larger than average living area in the one bedroom apartments. Studios are small, but they are studios!. Good for kids, but the hill back up at night after a meal in the town warrants a taxi, or a good walker to achieve! Go if you can. I'll be back again.....soon.

Apartments were only ok. Well used and abused. If you wanted to go to the strip you would have to get a taxi back as it is all uphill all the way. Good for the health but the old legs were not able for it after day 2. Overall it was ok. Clean and the staff very friendly. Would not go back because of the situation. A long walk to and from the beach. O those poor legs!

Brilliant Holiday!

30 October 2007
Stayed at Flora for 1 week with our 4 year old son. Couldn't fault the apartment, facilities or staff. Iscka and Janine, the entertainments team were absolutely great. Our son really loved the kids clubs and the disco in the evenings. The team were also great at getting the adults to participate in games etc which meant that the whole atmosphere around the place was really friendly. Stayed in the apartments over the road from the main complex so it was lovely and quite. Apartment was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Thank you Flora for a lovely holiday.

Fine for short stay but noisy at night

21 September 2007
Stayed at the Flora Apartments for one night as we had to catch an early flight to UK and ferry from Fuerte wasn't early enough. The apartment was definately spacious which is nice if you are travelling with 2 small children (3year old and 3 month old) Overall nice BUT VERY NOISY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. At about 3 am other holiday makers started playing these games machines in the complex and we could hear it all, sounds and bangs so definately did not get a good night sleep... As said the room was ok (although fridge did not work) but the noise at night was a definate disappointment.

It was not the best but okish

09 August 2007
We just came home from Lanzarote and stayed in the Flora appartments, we had booked all inclusive. We were with 16 people (4 kids under 12 and 3 teenagers) we were in flora 2 accross the road. It was a bit noisy sometimes as our appartments were at the road. the appartments were ok, they were clean. only thing is if you have the sleep in the living room (there was only one bedroom with a 2 single beds) it's pretty tough as the couches are made of concrete ad 2 weeks on that is hell! also the cockroaches that are wandering around and paying visits to the little groundfloor appartments we found not so nice (they were huge and you cant squash them as then you will get a plague of them things as they carry their eggs with them) the food at the hotel was ok, the barstaff was horrible tho! especialy the old fella he was a pain in the **** not only for us but for everyone including his own staff. The annimation team was brilliant! Andrea and Iscka were living the place up and they really did a good job. without them the hotel would be so dull!! keep up the good work guys!!! The appartments were a bit to high up when you have 2 buggies to wheel around! so we ended up taking taxis most of the 2 weeks when we wanted to go down to the centre or to the beach. it was ok coz overall it was just about 2-3 euro's for a taxi. i want to go back to lanzarote but then i will take a hotel/appartment downhill, near the centre or beach. The weather was lovely. it was sometimes to hot tho (we reached 51 C one day) The pool was always over crowded and they should provide more umbrella's we bought our own for 10 euro's each so we always had shade. But you need to get up early to put your towel at the beds as most people would put their towel there and stay away the whole day to come back and then still have a seat. We met a few rude people who would steal the umbrella's or beds when your eating your lunch or dinner (very very rude) the waterpollo and water aerobics were great, again good job to Anrea and Iscka!!

Couldn't find a fault,

14 July 2007
just home yesterday fri 13th of july. this is two out of three of the parties second time to the flora. the apartment was cleaned everyday expect 1/2 days towels changed everyday as long as you leave them in the bath as they use this for the maids to know to change the towels otherwise they wont be changed as the hotel say the are considering the environment, this is on a small sign on the mirror of the bathroom which one might not see or bother to read. The entertainers uisce and andrea were lovely and welcoming to everyone regardless of having kids. Uisce more so took time for everybody by the pool by encouraging the sun worshipers of their beds which didn't happen with any of us. As a former bluecoat for pontins i would by far give these two a firm thumbs up from anywhere i stayed. All staff in other departments friendly and helpful also. Flora apartment very central in old town 5-6mins down a hill nice walk down but a bit cardiac especially if you come from the rare auld times and mulligans. Ill be going back to the flora in dec. thanks to all at the flora again for great hol and service

Just returned from Flora apartments (5 July 2007) after twoo week holiday with my husband, daughter and two grandsons, one aged 9 and a baby of 18 months. We were in Flora II which was accross the road via the undergrdound tunnel. Apartments set in lovely gardens, clean and spacious. Maid service excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was no childrens pool in Flora II. Pool in Flora I too crowded. Not enough sunbeds all round and only counted four parasols in all during the two weeks. Apart from this no complaints. Hope this would be remedied and would certainly go back and would recommend to friends. Irene Hardie - Glasgow

Facilities are reasonable. Rooms are pretty basic and towels only changed on alternate days. Reception staff were quite helpful but bar staff very gruff except fot Ramon who seemed the only one prepared to smile. The big plus is the childrens entertainment team of Uisce and Andrea who really made ou kids holiday. I never once saw them losing thieir cool and their enthuaism was infectious. If you have children and are not expecting luxury accomadation I would have no hesitation in recommending the Flora.

Great!!! lets go again

20 June 2007
We have just return there was 3 adults and 1 child. Selfcatering Whilst staying at the Flora i must say we had a great time, the apartments were clean and tidy as was the rest of the Flora. The entertainment team Andrea and Iskca were absolutly fantastic they always kept the kids and ADULTS!!! entertained and were always there if you needed them. It was nice to see the pools cleaned daily and that the staff were always testing the pool throughout the day. 'Said' the barman is a lovely bloke but he is the only barman that seems to smile and say thankyou. The apartments are situated at the top of a hill but dont be put of by the reviews that say it's very steep, we only used that hill twice in the 2 weeks and that was to sample the bars at the harbour. All in All we had a fantastic time and are already looking at going back in november but to sample the All inclusive. Make sure you visit Mario's resturant which is situated out the back gate near the main pools and follow the road down turn right at the bottom of the road and you carn't miss it great if you love pizza or garlic bread but they also do pasta's and anything else you can think of. Happy holidays

Review of 'FLORA APARTMENTS'

16 April 2007
This is clean, no frills accommodation, perfectly located if you want to sample the great restaurants in the old port area of Puerto del Carmen without having to drive.  If however you want the bars and the nightlife of the main strip then this will be too quiet and too far away.  The rooms are well laid out mainly overlooking the central pool and bar area.  Restaurant on site, can't really comment as we always go out to eat, but the breakfasts smelt good!  Friendly, helpful staff and lots of parking.  There is a reasonably well stocked shop on site although it is more expensive than the local supermarkets but obviously offers convenience.  We've stayed here 3 times now and will undoubtedly be back again.

Review of 'FLORA APARTMENTS'

02 April 2007
I've stayed at the Flora approx 6 times in the last three years, the apartments are fairly spacious and clean, with seperate bathroom and bedroom, there are two main pools on both sides of the complex one of which is adults only. The enjoyment of your stay could be dependant on the location of your room, some are in noisy locations near the road. There's a basic entertainment laid on for the children every evening, and a bar/disco for the teens/adults. The main town is about a twenty min walk (which is a pleasant walk past shops/restaurants etc) or a five min cab journey for 3 euros. The only negative that bothers me each time i stay there is the reception staff, the service is slow and usually abrupt, and when checking out they never thank you for your visit or ask how was your stay.. this aside i think the flora is an ideal place to stay, and would highly recommend it.

Stayed at Flora's one bedroom apartment last year. Went on 1st Dec, weather was great, sunny everyday. Room was clean, plenty of space, had tv with all kinds of channels. Was on ground floor, table chairs and loads of room. Pool clean and very was maintained with lovely palm trees, food was good in resturant. Shop a bit small but sold the basics. 5 minute walk to old town, got taxi to new, which cost 2 euro. Loved the place so much going back this November, to celebrate my husbands birthday. Also kids would love it as had entertainment for them day and night.Would recommed this hoilday for all ages.

This was my second visit to the Flora, having stayed there in 2005. The complex is starting to show its age now, although it was very clean and tidy. The Pool area was quite busy, although there were sufficient sunbeds. The 1 bed apartments are spacius by Canaries standards, and because the complex is well laid out, you are not really overlooked by anyone else. The walk to the Old Port is 15 minutes, and 25 minutes on the way  back ! Maid service every second day. If you are going to Lanzarote, this is a good choice - cheap & cheerful !

Review of 'FLORA APARTMENTS'

The Flora are good all round basic apartments only 5 minutes walk from the old town and harbour area of Puerto del Carmen. We travelled there with my parents and 2 children under 2 years old and found the kids pool particularly good. It is self contained with access via small slopes so small children can walk in and out of the water without the need for constant parental help. The apartments themselves are very spacious and clean (towels changed almost daily) and equipped with a microwave as well as 2 oven rings. Most families with small children appeared to be allocated apartments facing the kids play area which is a great idea and quiet but the one drawback is the amount of steps we had to negotiate with 2 buggies to get down to the pool area - not ideal and definately not family friendly! On the plus side however these particular apartments are on the same level as reception and we had practically no steps to manage when we left the complex in the evening! Breakfast is excellent value (3.5 euros) with huge variety of food but I would not recommend the evening meal - poor quality and limited choice and expensive at 9 euros. The food in the pool bar during the day is of a good standard however and not over priced and the fact that Sky Sports is shown there was a definate plus for the football fans in our party, however a pint costs just under 3 euros so not cheap. Overall we were very pleased with the facilities and  would definatley stay there again.

Review of 'FLORA APARTMENTS'

Arrived on the 27th of Jan for an 18 day stay. We couldnt have picked a worse time to arrive weather wise it was terrible and quite cool.It rained solid for 2 and half days...
The apartment we were allocated was exellent pool side apartment located on the main block nice clean good mid service and plenty cooking utensils. I had stayed here in 2006 but was located in the area across the main road but much prefered to be located in the main block.
Only downside for me was the size of the bath it was tiny i am tall at 6ft3 so i wouldnt mind not being able to fit in but my friends were shorter but still couldnt fit in. All in all lovely complex mostly German, Dutch guests also the food at the complex was terrible we ate there once and it was enough thank god we picked self catering. Would revisit therse apartments for their location and cleanliness. Friendly reception staff and nice surroundings.

Location: Good within walking distance of all amenities within the Old Town.
Access:  We were in the complex across from Reception - access gate is locked after 19.00 hrs and access is through Reception, then via a tunnel under roadway.  Would not like to access on my own late at night.
Apartment - musty, damp and smelly.  Lot of noise from busy roadway.
We were only staying one night and would not have stayed any longer.

Above average accomodation, the apartments are well furnished - ample wardrobe space ( a little short on drawer space )- well equipped kitchenette - satellite TV & telephone - swimming pool & gardens are excellent. Only one negative comment is location, the apartments are close to the old town, but there is a very steep hill to negotiate. All in all, very good & good value for money

Nice enough apartments but our rooms were at the front of the complex near the main entrance, it was very noisy with traffic noise. Also transfer buses would park with their engines running for a long time and these were constantly coming through the night.
