Good but early season problems
11 May 2012
Just back from 11 days at the Ferrera Blanca and overall we had a very nice time although the Hotel had only opened the day before we arrived and was therefore not very full. The rooms were good (although we did have to keep chasing up the maid for towels as she took the dirty ones but didn't leave clean ones), the food was very acceptable for mass catering although if you got to the restaurant late you could find some of the better meat selections had run out and were not replenished. Plenty of snacks available during the day if you want to put on a few pounds! The whole site apperance was very well maintained, kept very clean and the ground staff were busy planting for the season. The weather was reasonable although the first part of the stay did include some rain - it was noticable that for the last few days it became hotter and sunnier.
All of the staff were very pleasant and spoke whenever you passed them. They all seemed to have a reasonable to good command of English (and could get by in other languages) which tends to put us British to shame as I didn't hear many try to speak in Spanish! By the end of the stay though I could ask for a shandy in Spanish.
The pools were very clean, if a little cold and because it was low season there was no trouble getting sun beds. Mind you there is a wonderful beach on the doorstep with a little bay which a lot of people used.
The Animation team worked their socks off to keep guests entertained but unfortunately they had not received the materials for the activities which meant that early on the same activities had to be repeated. As the evenings were a little cold the entertainment was restricted to being indoors and with a small room, not much could be done other than for the young ones. It was unfortunate for us that the first outside night (and the first Animation show) was to be held the day we left but hope it went well guys. The rehersals looked good.
A very relaxing time overall but I do wonder what it would be like in high season with possibly 500 people there.
All in all a big thanks to everyone there (including the other guests who joined in with the activities - far too many to mention) and especially to Aileen, Veronica, Zehra, John and Chipplain who were great (probably not spelt correctly). Oh and Coco too!
Would certainly consider going back.

From first impressions to checking out, this hotel, its staff their service and the food were excellent. Although we holidayed before the season started and the resort itself was barely open, this hotel was absolutely spot on. My wife and myself booked this sort stay, last minute, the hotel based on trip advisor rating and hoped for the best. We definitely got what we hoped for. Excellent, clean rooms (bottle of champers ready on arrival), friendly staff, great food, relaxing poolsides, beach 1 min away. vame away wanting to book with the rest of the family later on in year.

Apartment was lovely and modern with a wide screen tv with disney channel for the children. Food and drink selection amazing. We used the small pool near our apartment which was nice and quiet. Would definately go back and would recommend to others. Good value for money.

Ticked every box "but one!"
03 November 2011
There is little about the Ferrera Apartments that could raise complaint, the accommodation, public and bar areas were absolutely spotless as was the restaurant where the attention to detail was first class. We were all inclusive and in the main the drink quality was good as was the bar service. Reception and chamber maids were extremely helpful and thorough in their work. Excellent entertaiment by the animation team and the professional acts.
So which box didn't it tick?
Sadly, given the restaurant presentation and their eye for detail, I think that the hot food from the buffet was distinctly average, particulary the meat dishes. The salads and desserts were fine. I can appreciate the difficulty to mass cater and to suit the number of different nationalities in the hotel, but get the food right and this place is at the top and would rightfully deserve the last tick in the box.
The best thing about my stay was…
Accommodation & the close location to the amenties, and beach in Cala d'or.

We have just got back from 10 days at the Ferrera Blanca Apartments and have had a fantiatic time. We arrived early afternoon and were given a warm welcome before heading straight into our room to drop off our suitcase. The room was clean, well presented and really nice! We had a really big balcony (almost as big as the rrom again) - I don't think everyone had this but the smaller ones were still big enough with a table and chairs and some even had their own sun loungers. The all inclusive was exactly what we hoped for with a massive range of food and drinks that were of a high standard. There are several bars and restaurants which meant that you could pretty much get whatever you fancied. The staff were really welcoming and willing to do whatever they could to help. In the evenings the animation staff put on a concert with the children (lasts about half an hour) then there is entertainments for adults. The pools are clean and there are 4 of them so they vary in depth. The beach is literally a minutes walk and this is clean and the water is crystal clear. I would definitely recommend this if all you want is to sunbathe, eat and drink! The only thing I would be conscious of is that it would probably be really busy in peak season but I imagine they would just open the other bars and seating areas in this case!

We had a lovely holiday at the Ferrera Blanca in July.
As a few people have said previously I had very high expectations of this hotel due to the amount of excellent reviews on most of the sites. It was a lovely hotel but not as 'amazing' as I had expected but have to say I am very fussy had read a lot of hype so expected something really spectacular!
Having said that I would return as we enjoyed lovely service from the friendly staff, great food and gorgeous pizza at lunchtime in snack bar.
The hotel is in good location with lovely beach and in an area with lots to do, especially for the kids (bouncy castles, rides, etc).
Food plentiful and very nice - read about cold food but never experienced this.
My children who do not normally attend kids club did so on this holiday and think it made it much more fun for them.
All in all we had a great time.
The best thing about my stay was…
Went on Starfish boat trip to beautiful Cala Mondrago

29 August 2011
Stayed in Aug 2011 (family with 2 kids 5 + 8) on an all inclusive basis. Had a lovely time. The suite we had was large and modern. Our room was on the 3rd floor (no lifts) so if you have a buggy or are unable to climb stairs make sure you request a ground floor room. The staff are very friendly and the food was good. The entertaiment staff did not badger you to take part in activities and the evening entertainment was good. The beach is very close to the hotel and is very child friendly (shallow sea). The complex is within easy reach of the town centre but not so close for you to be disturbed by noise.
The best thing about my stay was…
Staff

Fantastic setting and beautiful place
16 August 2011
The apartment was spotless with a lovely terrace and very peaceful. The hotel facilities are lovely with a choice of 3 pools. The position of the hotel is ideal with bars nearby, but also only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Cala D'or.
The food was great with a varied choice for all, and the Italian restaurant was superb with a choice of dishes to order. Loved every minute of our stay.
The best thing about my stay was…
Position of the hotel

What a gem of a place. Fabulous!
02 August 2011
This was a fabulous holiday. It was great for the kids with a choice of pools, kids club and fabulous kids entertainment. The other evening entertainment was excellent and the amazing entertainment team worked tirelessly to provide a variety of top quality shows. The apartments were a short walk to a whole road of shops, restaurants and 'kids areas' with bouncy castle, racing cars, trampolines, air hockey, etc. The beach was nearby and the apartments were in a great location.
The only thing was the pool had lots of towels down in the morning when I went at 7.20 then people didn't turn up until 12! The 1 bed apartment was a bit tight for 4 of us. But these things didn't affect our holiday because everything else more than made up for it. Fabulous. A real gem of a place!
The best thing about my stay was…
the entertainment and the local 'kids stuff'

Would thoroughly recommend for any family with young kids for a relaxing break. We stayed in a junior suite under the all inclusive option. The suite was adequately sized for a family of four. The food was good with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great holiday.

1 week stay for family of four
20 June 2011
We have 2 daughters, 4 and 7 year old. They love the hotel, and in particular the animation team and the mini disco at night. The food is great, though a bit too British (for non British people like us). We were very satisfied with the trip, only problem was the reservation of sun beds with towels early in the morning made it sometimes difficult to find available sun beds. We noted that some people reserved sun beds all day without making barely any use of them during the day.
The best thing about my stay was…
Mini disco & food

17 June 2011
We had a lovely 10 day stay at Ferrara Blanca. The rooms were very clean and modern with air conditioning. The food was fantastic with loads of choice. The only fault was that the entertainment was very loud. We requested a room as far away from the entertainment as possible (having two very young children) but we couldn't have been put closer and were very disappointed. However, two days later we were moved to a lovely room on the top floor with views to the mountains from a sunny balcony. Rebeca on reception was a credit to the hotel and gave us no end of advise about where to go and what to do. There was plenty to do for children although our children were too young to benefit from the activites. They enjoyed the children's evening entertainment which ran for an hour until 9:30pm.
The best thing about my stay was…
The food and quality of the room.
