Fantastic time

16 April 2008
I recently stayed at the El Trebol in March. On arriving at the hotel me and my friend were impressed with the service on reception and the fact we were given a two bedroom apartment which the man insisted we have (don't know what he was hinting at!). The apartment was really spacious and had a front room with a dining table, kitchen and big balcony. There are four pools on the complex, one which is for children. When we booked this hotel we were a bit worried after reading other reports but we had no complaints and would definetly go back. We were all inclusive which ment you got breakfast on a morning, then the pool bar would open and was open till six at night. The food was great plenty of choice from soup, salads, freshly cooked steaks and they even did chips. One night there was a chinese night which included prawn crackers and fried rice. After your evening meal you could go and get sandwiches from the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help. There is entertainment on a night which wasn't to bad. The all inclusive bar does close at twelve though but there is a great bar just outside the hotel called cactus jacks. We went to this bar every night it was so good it was a mixture of kareoke and music. It was so good we were staying there till four in the morning and were regularly the last ones to go home and if your hungry after all that drinking you can always get a kebab or pizza which are very nice from across the road. Overall we had a fantastic time weather was warm although it was windy most days met some great people from manchester and would go back. The only bad thing was we had to check out of the room at twelve and our flight wasn't till eleven at night however you could pay about twenty pound to keep your room on.

Great time at El Trebol, Self Catering

26 March 2008
We stayed at El Trebol, self catering from 13/3/08 to 20/3/08. We had a great time, rooms where always clean and tidy with lots of space, the pools where cleaned every day and well looked after. Breakfast was very good with a great variety, staff where always happy to help any time of day and night. As we had to check out of our room at 12 noon and our return flight was very late it would have been good to have a courtesy room for half hour. We had a great holiday. We would go back again.

Great Hotel, detailed review

17 January 2008
Just retuned from a short stay in El Trebol, and must say it was great. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the standard is very high compared to a lot of similar (if not higher) priced hotels in the same area. The rooms very clean and modern. We had a huge balcony, with table and chairs and a good view of the stunning complex. The Balcony doors both had extra bolt locks on the inside for added security. The Living room was a fair size with a sofa bed (just in case you have the traditional holiday argument and end up sleeping on the sofa!). There was also a TV, and a table and chairs. The kitchen was big enough to cook in. There was a huge mirror which always comes in handy when admiring your tan. The bedroom was a good size with loads of coat hangers in the double wardrobe. There was a make up table, mirror and bedside tables. The only let down was the bed was two singles as opposed to a double. The bathroom was really nice, and had a powerful shower which never ran out of hot water. The corridors outside were a bit noisy but it was away from the bedroom so didn't affect us too much. The front door also had an interior bolt lock, so there was no chance of the lovely maids walking in on us and getting a surprise. The maids were great, friendly and even smiled (which can be rare in Spain). The complex was lovely. There's a couple of supermarkets, restaurants, and bars outside, and a new reception area really puts a smile on your face when you arrive at the hotel. If you want to be close to the beach then its not the best for that (only 5 mins walk but there are closer hotels). The pool is great, and even has a kids pool with little fountains and slides. There was plenty of space to sun bathe, and also it wasn't all on top of each other so you could be alone. There appeared to be good day time activities and Night time entertainment, with mini disco and bingo and some live music, but if its not great then pop over the road to the best and biggest bar in the area, 'Legends'. They have great entertainment for all ages inside or sit in the quieter part and put your favourite track on the juke box. There's pool tables and good food. Plus the best Dj on the Island.

Just returned from a great week at ElTrebol accomadation was fine problems were sorted quickly by the friendley staff. Food was good especiallyfor the kids. Pools gave a great choice for the children (book your spot early!!!). But for us what made the holiday was the service via alpharooms. We were met at the airport and transported straight to the hotel. We recieved a fax the day before we were due to leave telling us times etc. A stress free holiday thanks to all.

What a GREAT Holiday at El Trebol

14 May 2007
Stayed at El Trebol from 29th April to 6th May 2007 with my husband and our 4 Kids. What more do i need to say really as the title says it all. We all had such a great time, we were all inclusive and there was always something for all of us to eat.(yes even with 4 kids in tow) Rooms were really spacious and lovely and clean. Pool was out of this world, ok it was cold but that didnt stop the kids having a great time. Animation staff Kjell was absolutely worth his weight in gold, keeping us entertained all day. The kids will miss him. he certainly made a good holiday great. all in all we have been home a week now and would be back like a shot as it was great.

Review of 'El Trebol'

21 October 2006
We have used the El Trebol since 2000, self catering only, and the rooms are now ready for a major renovation. They have started to do this with some building work taking place whilst we where there. The pool area is still one of the best that I have visited in the Canaries but there appears to be a litter problem now, maybe it is since it started having All-Inclusive guests. The bars & shops in the resort are still as good & varied as usual & the best places that we dined at where the La Terraza in Las Cuccheras centre & the Don Pepe just outside the Hotel entrance. You also get a nice friendly atmosphere at the the Cohiba Bar, which is located just round the corner from the Don Pepe restuarant.
All in all we had good holiday.

very good holiday!! fun fun fun... food was good, entertainment was brilliant for the kids but a dissapointment for adults without kids of a young age. Hygiene is another let down as the bathroom is a bit shabby.rooms should be cleaned every day! reception area needs to be cleaned as alot of dirty tabels and watch out for the cockroaches hiding in your wardrobe as we have witnessed! sit behind the cafe if you want the sun all day!!!! overall a good holiday! xxx

Just came back from a fantastic two weeks in El Trebol - Pool area is awesome but I agree with a few other reviews that the food was the only let down for this great hotel. We upgraded to all inclusive for the second week that we were there and to start with it was ok but it quickly becomes bland and unimaginative. Best steak I've ever had was bought in Don Pepe's with the staff being really friendly with service better than back home! Entertainment in the hotel was really good especially a show called Argentina Fusion! Really good entertainment. I'd go back here in an instant but with alot more money to allow me to eat what I like! Best breakfast in the locality can be bought from Ferrari's bar just outside the hotel complex - british products and fantastic british taste! I'll miss the place until I return next year... :-(

I have just returned from 2 weeks self catering in Hotel El Trebol in Costa Teguise and can honestly say i had a fabulous holiday. Entertainment basic but entertaining all the same. Hotel staff friendly and accomodating. Being alone with a teenager was not a problem as easily occupied daytime with several pools to choose from. I enjoyed the fact I did not have to fight for a sunbed no matter what time of day i ventured out.

I would recommend this accomodation to anyone looking for a nice venue with basic facilities as near a variety of shops, restruants and entertainment.

We went to this hotel on the strength of other reviews and of course price as this was a family of 4 looking to get away for a fair cost as we all do..We arrived and were presently suppripised by the accomodation and the facilities available, there were tennis courts, squash courts and a football pitch. The reception area is located from the street via a small shopping mall but this should not put anyone off as right outside there are a few bars and restuarts and an ammusement arcade for the kids. The hotel its self is well run and the staff are most helpful and friendly and the rooms are cleaned every day apart from the weekends. There are 3 pools and you will never have any bother finding a sunbed you dont need to get up and book them with your towel. We we self catering therefore cannot comment on the standard of the food in the hotel but we never had a bad meal in any of the places we ate which are only about a five minute walk to.The rooms were basic with a bedroom consisting of 2 single beds and the living room had a fold down bed this is the first hotel i have been to in a long time were there was always hot water and you didnt need to shower at certain time to make sure you dint get a cold one.All in all we had a great holiday and would would have no hesitations in recommending this hotel to families as there is always entertainment in the hotel

Just got back from Lanzarote and absolutely loved it once again.  We stayed at the El Trebol for a second time and again it was a lovely time.  The hotel is always clean, staff are always helpful and the food always on top form.  It's just 5 minutes away from the beach and there are loads of restaurants and pubs just outside or down the street from the hotel.  The pool area is lovely, with 3 swimming pools and lots of room to sunbathe.  It's never noisy and it's a lovely place for all ages to stay.  The evening entertainment was excellant and saw all the shows that were being presented.  I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to get away from it all and enjoy what Costa Teguise and the El Trebol has to offer.

I have recently returned from a one week stay at the El Trebol. The accomodation was basic but clean. The pool area was lovely not at all crowded. The food was below average and quite bland the breakfast being better than the evening meal. The food round and about was quite cheap and was of good quality so I would stay here again but on a self catering basis. The staff were not particularly welcoming and I was kept waiting at reception whilst the receptionist attended to a personal call. The resort was nice but quiet at night. The best place to go at night was Cactus Jacks which had entertainment and karaoke every night. It had a really good atmosphere and the bar staff were really friendly. All in all I had a good holiday and would go back again.

stayed at El trebol at the end of febuary 06. It is pretty much as everyone has described before..tired, in need of DIY and smartening up.The pool area is very nice, despite the pools not being heated. It seemed they had stopped the entertainment for children and there is just one girl trying her best with limited resources the rest of the time.Saw 2 acts in the evening that were ok. The accomodation and overall holiday was ok..but have to admit to going to lanzarote gardens for fantastic entertainment and a heated pool for my little girl! If you have a family i would suggest booking there. Had no problems with booking directly with alpharooms and would do so again.EL TREBOL is in need of new innovative and motivated staff to make the place worth its 3 stars when comparing it to lanzarote gardens.

The El Trebol is a good hotel. We stayed self-catering because it was cheaper and just as convienient to eat in the local bars and restaurants. The Hotel Reception spoke very good english and the rooms were cleaned every day. No kettle or toaster in the room but we understood this to be the norm on the island. And also the charge to watch the television in the room was also common. We understand this was an economy measure in general on the island to help save electricity. Just one of those things that you have to accept. We travelled with our 15 year old son and did originally book a one-bedroomed room with a pull-out bed settee. We chose to upgrade to a two-bedroomed room which was much larger and more suitable for a cost of 70 euros for the week, which worked out about £6 a day. The hotel had a great pool but the weather was not with us and although it was sunny, the pool just never did get warm enough although there are plenty of sunbeds available for you to top up your tan. In the bar there was entertainment at night although we usually ended up at the bar just outside called Cactus Jacks - serves great food and cheap beer and entertainment everynight.

Cheap and basic accomodation for a short break. Complex in need of a facelift, hot water needs to be sorted out as not always available, in its hayday would have been a great place to stay needs some TLC to bring it back to life again. Entertainment was good can't comment on the restuarant as we didnt use it.  Need more people on reception especially at busy times. All in all not a bad place to stay for the price.

accommodation is ideally situated for easy access to bars beach and restuarants. the accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable, the only problem we found was that the pool was not heated so it was freezing as we were there over xmas and the new year, but the pool area is very clean and has a pool bar.
Cannot really comment on the food as we were self catering althoughwe did have a meal in the restuarant one evening which was of standard quality but the breakfast was very good. food purchased in the pool bar was sandwiches and burgers which were fine

Review of 'EL TREBOL'

30 December 2005
Returned yesterday 29th Dec.

Having read other reviews that accommodation was basic and tired I was a bit apprehensive as to what to expect.  Pleasantly surprised.  Agree it is basic, but a very good layout with a huge pool complex with all rooms facing one of the interconnecting pools.  Smashing children's pool with slide, huge frog and kiddie features.  If the accommodation wasn't so basic it would attract a much higher rent, so preferred the pleasant surroundings in exchange for an apartment that, in reality, only needed a bit of DIY to bring it up to scratch. 6 in our party, 3 apartments, and all had good mattresses on beds.

The apartments were cleaned every day, towels changed and new toilet rolls left.

3 electric rings, oven and fridge.  You can hire electric kettle and toaster. We had travel kettle, toaster was 7 euro for week. You can hire just about anything from reception, hairdryer, heater, even a wheelchair. What ever you need, just ask and they will get it.

We went self catering as we had friends in another resort to meet up with.  Had dinner in the hotel one night and the food was plentiful in choice and amount. 8.5 Euro for 3 course buffet dinner so a really cheap fill up.  You can take a half board package, breakfast and dinner, for 63 euro for a week, so you can't grumble at that.

We didn't go to the entertainment provided at night but looked in to see what was going on.  It wasn't our cup of tea but considering it was all included it makes pretty good value for money.

Everything you can need is on the doorstep.  2 supermarkets right outside hotel and many eateries, Spanish, Mexican and even a fish and chip shop.  English breakfasts and roasts on the doorstep if you fancy.

10 minute slow walk to Cucharas shopping centre and beach.  Plenty of choice of restaurants.  About 20 minutes walk to other side of bay with more restaurants and shops.

We hired a people carrier and it was an easy drive to Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen.

All in all a good inexpensive holiday.

I went with my elderly mother, and we booked the flights and hotel indepedently. Got a taxi from the airport, just under 17 euros. The hotel doesn't have a 'proper' entrance, its like you're going into a square of shops, but just walk ahead through the glass doors and you know you're in the hotel. Big round reception desk. We asked for a ground floor room with sunny balcony, and that's exactly what we got. It was a one bed apartment, with two set of doors to large balcony, although no sundbeds, just table and chairs. The beds were reasonably comfortable, certainly not rock hard. Some of the furnishings and decor feel like they could do with updating, but they are adequate. All the staff were very friendly. The pool is fantastic. We were on half board, and worried after having read some of the reviews, but we found the food to be quite good. Some days it was really very nice indeed, other days it was ok, but we didn't go anywhere else for our meals, there was always something you could eat. The sweets are too delicious!! Wine was reasonable, half litre for 2.95 euros. I really didn't find anything to complain about. Don't expect 5 star because it isn't! Mum has trouble walking, so only made it to the beach once, its about a quarter of a mile to the beach. Some things are quite pricey, like wheelchair hire 60 euros for a week. There's no kettle in the room and that was 7 euros a week, but we took our own. Car hire varies, but the cheapest I found was 25 euros a day - check if full insurance is included.
All in all, a very pleasant holiday, which was helped by great weather on 5 out of 7 days! Also, the shops near the hotel seem to be about the cheapest in the resort, especially the perfume shop!!

I had a very good holiday at El Trebol with my daughter and 2 youg grandsons aged 1yr amd 2yrs

I have been visiting Costa Teguise for the past 8 years and this is the first time that I had stayed at El Trebol

I alwI have also lived in Lanzarote for 6 months and worked as a transfer Rep for a travel company  and still had not ever visited
El Trebol

I was very supriesed at the expanse of the complex and the pool facilities which were great for families

We went self catering and therfore did not use the restaurant as the choldren were too young but they did have a faciliy that you could have breakfast or dinner or both on either a daily or weekly rate which was very reasonable

The apartments were very spacious and had a lovely large balcony which was great for the young cholidren

The rooms were cleaned 5 days a week and towels and bed linen were changed regularly

IThere was a launderetts on site with washing and drying facilites which we found verey useful

The reception staff and cleaning staff were all very polite and helpful as were the staff at the pool bar which had a choice of food and drinks whcih you could eat poolside or get delivered to your room at no additional charge

All in all we had a great holiday and i would recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Costa Teguise

The beach is only a 5 min walk and there is a great choice of bars restaurants and supermarkets with a bgus stop at the end of the road about 5min walk this goes to Arreciffe P De Carmen and on Sundays to Teguise Market

Go on give it a try !!!

Nice room, plenty of space.  Pools very, very cold!  Entertainment quite good, professional shows most nights.  We stayed half board and were worried about previous reviews, but we always found something to eat, but the kids (9 and 3) struggled a bit, chips every night for them.  Breakfast was strange with hot dog type sausages.  Our only bugbare really was queing for entry to the dining room, never had that before. Sometymes it took 15 minutes to be showed to a table, and the apartments were half empty. I would hate to have been there when it was full!

Review of 'EL TREBOL'

16 November 2005
My financee, 9 month old daughter and I had an excellent time at El Trebol and we would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel itself could be described as adequate - not the Ritz but certainly comfortable and as described. Worthy of a 3 star rating.

The room we had was 1 bedroom apartment. We had maid service about 5 times in 7 days - which was great. A major down side was the linen. The towels were old, smelly and more like rags - not at all usable (and we've done our fair share of backpacking in the past so have a relatively high threshold).

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly - in particular the evening entertainment staff, which incidentally was relatively good - particularly geared up for young children.

The food at the hotel was quite poor. We had paid for half board but only ate our evening meal at the hotel twice in 7 days. Breakfasts however were reasonable - with a good choice - though the quality of the hot food was a little variable.

In terms of facilities this hotel had it all - tennis courts, badminton courts, basketball court/five-a-side football pitch, etc. It also had a fair few pools, including a fun pool for the kids and a shallow pool for younger children. The only down side was the temperature - they are all unheated - which makes them much less attractive when the wind is blowing (as it did quite fiercely) on this particular coast.

All in all a great hotel and well worth the money. Would stay there again.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday at El Trebol. The 2nd floor apartment was a good size, with a safe balcony - no lift but that wasn't a problem.

The pools were lovely with good facilities for young children and adults (the water was pretty cold - but ok once you got used to it!).

The restaurant was ok.  We stayed half board; breakfast offered a comprehensive choice; dinner gave a good choice although 2 weeks of it was enough!

The staff were helpful and very friendly.

Location was very good with everything on the doorstep (but not noise).  A choice of beaches and more shops and restaurants were a pleasant stroll away (5/10 mins).

I would recommend the El Trebol, we would visit it again.

Just got back from a weeks holiday at the El Trebol. Had a wonderful holiday, weather was great, a little cloudy in the morning but it soon went. The apartment we were allocated was very clean and spacious. The pool was probably the best pool I have ever swam in, it was cold getting in but once you was in then it was fantastic to swim in. We didnt try the food in the hotel but after speaking to other guests we were told that it was good. The reception staff were very friendly, plenty of entertainment in the hotel but geared mostly to families. We would definitely go back again.

Our second holiday at El Trebol even better than first. Overall service superb and reception personell extermely helpful. Only a short walk to main part of resort but there are bars and restaurants just outside of hotel ( quite easy to stay near resort as there is so much there ).

Just arrived home from a fab holiday at El Trebol. After reading some bad reviews on a website I was a bit weary before arriving there, but what a place. The rooms were spacious and cleaned nearly every day, the staff very helpful and friendly, the complex amazing, i couldn't believe how clean the place was, no tummy bugs this year. The food tasted better than it looked "i'm quite fussy " but my 10 yr old son ate mounds and tried everything,my 7yr old lived on chips and rolls for the fortnight but he didn't complain. The cream 'of' soups were to die for they were delicious. We only stayed for the entertainment twice 'bingo and quiz' these took up most of the night and questions and numbers were very difficult to understand as they were given in about 5 languages and the pronounciations were hysterical. We spent most evenings at Cactus jacks awesome place. The location was fab not much traffic and plenty for the kids to do in and outside the hotel' about 10 mins walk into a livlier shopping center a lovely walk along the beach front. I would recomend the El Trebol to anybody its simply the best.

I have recently returned from a 3 week stay at El Trebol.  We had a lovely holiday.  The apartments were good but slightly dated in decor and not too well equipped. Pool area was lovely if you could find a bed without a towel on it.  If you have small children a very nice slide pool was added during our stay.  Very good location, easy to get to the beach/shops.  Staff pleasant and entertainment good.  On the whole they were very good value for money and Costa Teguise is a very nice place.

We travelled to Lanzarote last week and we are still here! We are really enjoying our stay at the El Trebol Apartments and would recommend them highly. They are situated just a short stroll from the main centre, but there are bars, restaurants and shops immediately outside the apartments. The food is good, although not always is it to my tastes (maybe i am just too fussy!). I particularly enjoy the breakfast though. The reception staff are so friendly and the evening entertainment is corny, yet entertaining! The swimming pool is beautiful and having a 5 year old son in tow, he loves the pool. I have to say though that there is not a lifeguard to be seen anywhere.
On the whole a very enjoyable holiday in Lanzarote at the El Trebol Apartments.

JUST ARRIVED BACK AFTER TWO GREAT WEEKS AT "EL TREBOL",THE APPARTMENTS WERE VERY CLEAN AND SPACIOUS, MAIDS CLEANED EVERY DAY EXCEPT SUNDAY AND TOWELS CHANGED TWICE A WEEK. LOCATION OF "EL TREBOL" IS FAB ONLY 5 MINUTE WALK TO BEACH,  THERE ARE SHOPS AND BARS AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE HOTEL. TENNIS COURTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR 4 EUROS FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE AND THERE IS ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE KIDS IF YOU WISH TO TAKE PART. CANNOT COMMENT ON THE FOOD AS WE WERE SELF CATERING HOWEVER THERE ARE PLENTY EATERIES AROUND AND ALL ARE VERY REASONABLY PRICED. WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK AGAIN.ps DONT MISS THE DRAG SHOW AT "CACTUS JACKS"

We have stayed in many hotels in Costa Teguise...and found El Trebol to be one of the best..The layout of the hotel is 3 semi circles each around its own pool, so you always had a pool view..The pools were all clean and there plenty of sunloungers and space..During our weeks stay we had our rooms serviced 5 times ( thats the most ever for me)
We opted for the self catering but there was an option to have half board for 8 euros, and it was superb.
This hotel is excellent value for money and I could not find one fault, the position is excellent for all the bars and cafes, and 2 minute walk to the beach, we will definetely be staying again.

Just arrived back from El Trebol  May 2005.
Excellent holiday all round.
Food a lot to choose from and spoilt for choice, recommend to have a three week menu plan so the food isn't repeated on a 2 week holiday.
Room furniture a bit dated but useable.
Pool well maintained /clean.
Staff/Reception excellent / maid service excellent
room cleaned every day, sheets changed once a week.
Entertainment average
Struggled with cases because of the steps. No lifts - value for money.
definitely book the same hotel if returning to lanzarote.

Our Stay at this hotel was in December 204, unfortunaly the weather was really bad, with rain every day, know for a fact this is not the norm for Lazarote,  The hotel, or aparthotel as it is, is of a good standard, and clean, no lifts, do mean you have to drag your cases up stairs, so not suitable for the disabled, they have a children's club, but the guests at that time of year seemed to be mostly retired people, the piano bar has no piano but a bar serving drinks, the only entertainment happens in this room, an outside act every evening, films are shown, and some football matches.  The food was good, and no one would starve.
