The golden beaches of Costa Daurada and the bustling Mediterranean town of Salou are just five minutes away. The huge swimming pool's main feature is a pirate galleon where children can play for hours. We were very pleased with this hotel for the facilities and the convenience for the parks. Is it four star - frankly no, but as long as you have read the reviews and know the good and bad points then it's not a problem. We checked in after 1030pm and had to make do with pizza and hot sandwich to take away, which were passable. The rooms were a good size, with good bathroom, air con, safe, hair dryer. We asked and got extra pillows. No in room facilities to make drinks or fridge, room service or the others odds and ends that makes for a four star room, but good enough - clean and tidy and serviced daily.
Breakfast was fine, good basic choice of hot and cold - something for everyone. All self service buffet style in a cavernous room.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the I suspect the hotel claims it's four stars based on the pool and other leisure facilites which were very good.
We did not eat at the hotel in the evening, favouring going offsite into Salou instead, which is only a short taxi ride away.
The parks were fantastic and were only a 10 minute walk up a hill, but there was also a land train which called regularly at the hotel which you could take up to the parks and back.
One thing that did catch us out. The Beach club did not open until the 1st June, after our stay. ( Also the water park only opened on the 23rd May) The parks only open at night from mid July. So worth checking up on depending on when you are going.
We would happily stay here again.
