basic but very clean really enjoyed the stay. The gardens are beautifull not what you expect when you see the entrance. Cracking value There is quite a bit of noise next to a school but did not bother us at all infact we missed it when weekend came. Could do with a proper kettle that didnt take 12 minutes to boil Les

We stayed in a 1-bedroomed apartment at this complex at the end of April 2007. We were delighted with the location being so close to shops, restaurants, beaches and buses. We used public transport to get from to and from the airport and to get around locally; this was both cheap, reliable and easy so there is no necessity to hire a car unless you want to go to out-of-the way places. Our apartment had a balcony, overlooking the delightful garden/pool area; it had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were aware of an intermittent vibration sound (probably water pressure control valve) which we found a little annoying at night (take ear plugs) but otherwise no complaints at all about the property and would stay again.

Review of 'El Jardin'

We had a good week at El Jardin. The apartment came up to our expectations in size and location. The swimming pool and garden surrounding it were beautifully kept.
Buses, beaches and restaurants were all within easy walking distance and Nerja is and extremely pleasant little town.
The girl in the office which ran the apartments was extremely pleasant and helpful.
On the down side there is a school playground next door which could be very noisy. However it was generally happy noises so not a real problem. It would also have been useful to have a dust pan and brush provided since there is no maid service.
Overall I would highly recommend this accommodation.

I had an excellent apartment with TV, microwave, plenty of hot water, air conditioning and everything else I needed apart from soap. The supermarket (good) is 5 minutes away but there is a smaller shop very near.

It is very central and very convenient, in the heart of the town.  Has a lovely little pool and a sheltered sun lounger area which catches the sun.  Everything is spotless and to a high standard.

There is a school next door, with consequent noise during the day in term time, but as I work in a College that was OK.

I strongly recommend this little oasis away from the concrete jungle, as being a little bit different, with a great atmosphere, and supporting the local economy.

Husband and I stayed for 12 nights in October 2005, and were very pleased with the accommodation. Although there was only the two of us, we rented a 1-bedroom apartment which meant that we had that little bit more room, and the apartment had a large balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. As previous reviewers have said, the apartments aren't cleaned but this didn't bother us because we felt like we had extra privacy - the apartment comes with brushes and pans if accidents happen. The small complex is very well situated in the heart of Nerja with beach/bars/restaurants only minutes stroll away. Don't bother with a car!! Nerja has narrow winding streets and a crazy one-way system : even taxi drivers have difficulty. If you want to get out and about, hire a car for the day and pick-up/drop-off at the car-hire office. Would certainly go back and stay in El Jardin again.

Nice accomodation.  There are a total of 5 apartments/studios.  We stayed for two weeks (two adults and two children)in a two bedroomed, two bathroom apartment which was clean and comfortable.  Linnen and towels were changed once however the rooms or bathrooms were not cleaned while we were there.  Our accomodation did not have a balcony and overlooked the street which could be noisy but did not bother us particularly. The studios did have a balcony.  Our access to the pool was through the garage door from the street. (not as bad as it sounds)  The pool was clean and the garden well maintained. All accomodation had access to a washing machine which we were not expecting.  It was within 6 minutes to the beach and supermarket and 3 minutes to the resturants.  Would stay there again. Rate 4/5.  Only dissadvantage was lack of balcony for our apartment.  Noise on the street and would have preferred bathrooms to be cleaned at least once. Also Sky telly but mainly set to German channels.

We stayed here for 5 nights in November 04.  We hired a car from Malaga airport & drove to Nerja but found that we parked the car up and didn't use it for the rest of the stay.  Parking is a bit tight as you are in the centre of Nerja. You access the complex through a locked door off one of the main streets after collecting keys from the 'hotel Anna' in an adjoining street which seems a bit strange but this arrangement seems to work well.  We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment with our two children.  It had a living room and two bathrooms & a well equipped kitchen.  It is only a small complex & is very quiet, we didn't see anyone else in the complex whilst we were there.  Our apartment overlooked the street which was fine but may be noisy during high season.  The pool at the back appeared to be very clean & the garden around it well kept.  We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone.  Would certainly go back again.  Nerja is a lovely place.
