Renovated in 2006, the air-conditioned and family friendly hotel consists of a main building and an annex and a total of 70 rooms, a garden and a terrace. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with 24-hour reception desk and a cloakroom. In addition, the hotel comes with an air-conditioned restaurant with highchairs for children, a bar, a café, a breakfast room and a conference room. The following services are also available for an additional fee: public Internet access, medical attention and bicycle hire. Use of a car park and room service is also available. This hotel is situated at the heart of Sierra de Grazalema national park. Bars and the excavations sites of Romano Acinipo are around 10 km away, restaurants, nightclubs and shops are to be found in the centre of Ronda about 20 km away, the beach and golf course of Marbella are 65 km away, Jerez de la Frontera is 75 km away, whilst Seville is 95 km away and Malaga airport is located approximately 110 km away, whilst Malaga itself is 115 km from the hotel. Accommodated in small white houses, the en suite rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite TV, a double or king-size bed, Internet access, central heating and a balcony or a terrace. The air conditioning can be individually regulated.

Of all the hotels we have stayed at this was the most difficult to find. However when we did find it it was well worth being there. From the entrance there is about a 3 km winding drive to this lovely valley where the El Horcajo is the only building in site. It is built in the attrctive hacienda style. The twin room we had was comfortable and very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was a huge lounge with comfy settees and armchairs set round in socialable groupings and in the evening a log fire was lit was very welcome in March. The restaurant provided a simple 3-course (2 choices) dinner for about 11/12 euros which changed daily. Altogether a very pleasant stay. The only problem is finding the place as it is not signed and detailed instructions/adequate map from the A374 road should be issued with each booking.
