Improvements Needed – May already be being actioned?

30 April 2008
Fantastic Complex and great staff – by far the majority very friendly and eager to help / please. Could not believe how clean the place was kept and obviously well maintained. Location wise – slightly out of Coste Adeje “proper” but free bus during day and taxi’s were only about 13Euro to Playa / Adeje. Area for Improvement: Food! In most cases Not the quality or often even the taste. Apart from the chops / chicken / steak being cooked at that moment on the grill the food was consistently cold or lukewarm at best. Understand that the hotel group have a new manager on site who is there to “troubleshoot” so it may be that this is a short term issue? Drinks – interesting taste to some but a lot of people managed to drink a lot of alcohol so not that bad! Entertainment – Great during day but evening entertainment rather embarrising at times. Having said that – by then the alcohol and company made it funny so not the end of the world.

My wonderful holiday in Dunas Paraiso

28 April 2008
My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 12t April - 19th April, 2008. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Fantastic spacious rooms with breathtaking views of the ocean. The pool area was gorgeous, spotless clean with plenty of sunbeds etc. The food was plentiful, good quality with plenty of choices. The food sometimes was lukewarm but I have found this to be the case in a lot of Spanish hotels. My only complaint would have to be the entertainment or lack of it. There was a two piece band on every night and they were awful. Its a pity because this was the only fault we could find. I am sure more people would stay in the hotel if the entertainment was better. I am thinking of going back again in July and would definitely recommend this to mature couples and families. It wouldn't suit young people who are looking for lots of entertainment. The area is lovely but very quiet. However, there is a free bus into Las Americas and a taxi would cost approximately 15 euros.

Review of Dunas Paraiso

09 April 2008
Ok where should I start? With the long list of great things about this hotel or the short list of bad??..Will start with the good news first!!!...What a great location...as the taxi came down the hill we were not disappointed as the front of the hotel appeared and the view of the ocean stretched beyond that. I was travelling with my 9yr old son, we were checked in very fast and as we arrived around 3pm where told to hurry as we could have lunch before the resturant closed. At first I did find the reception staff a little short, but as time went on there became very friendly. We were there for 2weeks and towards the end the entertainment became not that at all!!!!! Really poor in fact...but a holiday is what you make it and I met some really lovely people who made our stay a great one. The hotel has a real cross section of nationalities, from germany, french, polish, even the spanish where there, not to mention the English,Scots,Welsh and Irish!!! A lot of families so if your after a Singles party hotel...this is not the place. I found the room so beautiful, spacious, everywhere in the hotel extremely clean, and i mean everywhere!!!...the view of the pool and ocean ...bliss.....we were lucky to have the sun on our balcony from 2pm so could watch the sun set over the sea...again ...bliss...overall a very relaxing holiday, disco closed at midnight and really quiet after that, which I love as like a good night sleep...even on holiday!!Food sometims very bland and cold, but we were never hungry and always found something to eat!!! I didn't like the fact you couldn't have a coffee after your lunch or dinner in the dining room, even though they had huge coffee machines in there...you had to finish your dessert and then go to the pool bar to get your coffee and couldn't return to dining room to have it!!! Don't know why they have the coffee on at breakfast but not at any other times...strange, I think....So all in all I did enjoy my time there, I would go back, a very clean, well located hotel within easy reach of main tourist areas, but far enough out to be away from it all!!!

Good Hotel Staff could be better

02 April 2008
Stayed here for 2 weeks over easter very nice hotel. The rooms are very good in size and are very clean, the views from the balconys are breathtaking of the sea. The hotel is about 8 to10 miles away from pueuto colon and the main shopping areas but only costs 12 euros in taxis and there is a free bus from hotel 10,11am and 12pm and back 4,5,6pm. There is also a local service bus which is excellent. It was the first time we've stayed all inc and the food is good but sometimes some of it was a little on the cool side ie baked beans at breakfast cold and things like fries, potatoes and veg only luke warm, but 95% of the food is good. The pool bar is also good but they could do with more staff , having to queue a lot of the time and also paper cups for all drinks inc beer which i can under stand for pool safety but after pool closes they could use glass. The security guards are very keen if you put your towel out before 9am they will remove them so at busy times you better be in line or you will not get a bed even those the pool area is big . The pools are large one heated and it is nice laying there all day if you wish as sun is on pools all day. entertainment what can i say, terrible, go out if you want to be entertained, could do a lot better. On the hole the hotel is very good and I would stay there again.

Nice hotel, nice food, not nice reception

25 March 2008
It's very nice, cosy hotel with the beautiful sea view. Food was perfect and very nice. You would definitely come back to this hotel again. The only one thing that should be mentioned-not friendly reception. The rest was great!

weeks hoilday

24 February 2008
if you are looking for a quiet break in the middle of no where this is perfect for you.i stayed here for one week in february.the hotel is very nice with very big rooms,we had a suite with a sea view ,we had a 10 month old baby and 3 year old girl with us. the swiming pool was very big and clean the kids club was ok. the staff a the reception and waiters in the restaurant were very rude and short. the food was just ok and after 3 days we ate out for dinner ,we had a hire car. would i go back (no) because 1.there was no beach 2.miles away from every thing 3.we had seven cockroachs in our room over or stay. but over all the hotel is nice it was just not for us.

Half Term Break

21 February 2008
Just returned from half term break at this hotel. Hotel location on the ocean is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious and clean. However recommend when booking you ask for a pool view(which also gives the ocean) as the ocean and mountain view rooms are located on the exterior sides of hotel and balcony receives little or no sun at all. The balconies are very large, could hold a small reception on them, complete with 2 sunbeds and table and chairs. The food is plentiful and there is a good choice. Staff are friendly and courteous. If you are looking for nightlife this is not the hotel for you, there a are few quiet bars about 10 minutes walk away alternatively it is a taxi into main resorts approx 15 euros. The only downfall of this hotel is the entertainment programme it is diabolical - the worst I have ever encountered this really needs to be looked at closely and revamped, as most people stay on the complex at all times some decent evening entertainment is definately required.

The Whiteheads

17 February 2008
Just returned from a very enjoyable break at the Dunas Paraiso. Hotel was lovely, room very good too, very clean & excellent maid service. Plenty of food & drink!! We didn't venture out much, didn't feel the need too. Excellent destination for a relaxing holiday. We had our seven year old son with us who really enjoyed it, we didn't use the kids club but all the children in it seemed to be having lots of fun. Just one thing, we had a filter coffee machine, fridge & microwave in the room but no kettle, we did ask but they couldn't provide one! So would take a little travel kettle next time for a cuppa in the morning. We had a later flight home & was able to hang on to the room until five, for a small cost, which was really handy. Definately would go again.

holiday

06 February 2008
Had a very enjoyable week in this hotel during january. Hotel is spotless, staff friendly, and the fridge and kettle in the room ideal. Thourghly enjoyed the meals available, and the towel service was excellent, dont take your own! If you have to go out a few small bars in parisio, but its only over a euro to go to las americas by local bus, also hotel has free bus,or about 18 euros in a taxi if there are enough of you to share. A great hotel for a chill out week.

January Blues week in the sun

02 February 2008
Just arrived back from a wonderful week at the Dunas Paraiso. What can we say the hotel is beautiful ( advise you book a seaview room that was the mistake we made not doing so) the view over the atlantic ocean is amazing even sitting at the top pool watching all the boats and world go by, heaven!!! Playa Paraiso itself has not much going on a few bars and restraunts minutes away from the hotel, however the Dunas offers a courtesy bus to Las Americas between 10am and 6pm. The all inclusive was great, self service for soft drinks, water, beer and wine. Great selection of food for all meals. Entertainment there if you wanted to take part. We dont really feel Tenerife is anything special in itself, however we would definately return to the Dunas Paraiso for a relaxing week in the sun!

Short Break

20 January 2008
We have just returned from a short break (wed to Sat). We have 2 kids, 8 & 2. All of us were delighted with the hotel and could not fault the service at all. We had a Suite which was excellent and great views of the sea. I will be booking again for April. If i were pushed to think of something to criticise it would be: 1. Only plastic cups for beer and the Kids disco is pretty dire. As you can see they are trivial. I would say go to the Dunas and chill out. You will really enjoy it.

great xmas break, batteries recharged

04 January 2008
we stayed at this hotel over xmas 07 for a week with 3 families with children 3 , 6 , 13. like all kids they spent most of the holiday in the heated outdoor pool, what great news to find out no towells on sun loungers until 9am. We all had sea view suites to which where immaculate and spacious, with an enormous balcony with your own sun loungers, the views where stunning , you would almost thing you was in the caribbean at sunset. The food had a good selection to suit most. we was after a lazy week so did not venture out much other than the boys Golf days, well be rude not to, there is a small town with a couple of bars and shops about a 10 min walk away. I would definately return to this hotel again, the only complaint I would have is that the main indoor bar is not part of the all inclusive, which means plastic glasses for everyone. Paul H, Surrey

Thoroughly relaxing holiday

28 December 2007
We stayed at this hotel with two other families and children aged between 5 - 17. All the children were more than happy with all of the facilities available ie the football/tennis etc. They all particularly enjoyed the heated outdoor pool. The food was OK everybody found something to eat everynight and the staff were always very helpful. We booked suite rooms overlooking pool/sea and although a little more expensive it was worth it. The hotel is a little off the beaten track so if you like a lively holiday/hotel this may not be for you. We all hired cars so had the freedom to explore and go out and about in evenings. The entertainment for the younger children is the normal stuff with kids mini disco at 9.30 and then a little show at 10.30 pm. The kids disco is OK but the later shows are not particularly long only half an hour or so and could be improved.

Excellent

19 December 2007
Stayed here for 14 nights from 1st December 2007 to 15th December 2007 and we can honestly say that this is the best all inclusive hotel that we have stayed in. If you want a beach holiday then don't come here as there are no beaches within walking distance however you can sun bathe on the rocks or on your balcony or by the poolside. If on the rocks you can watch the dolphins playing out at sea. We had a mountain suite which was very spacious, there was a large en-suite bathroom with bath and seperate power shower and also a second toilet and hand basin in a small room just off the lounge. We had a large balcony with 2 sun beds and a table and 3 chairs with ample room all round. The room was complete with television, microwave coffee and fridge together with a safety deposit box and hairdryer. The staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day. There was a large and excellent choice of food lunch times and evenings there was a carvery plus a buffet at breakfast. One complaint we did hear was you could not have a proper cup of coffee after the evening meal, however, in the Bar Atrios you could purchase a proper cup of coffee for 1 Euro 60 cents which I considered a small price for this facility as the main bars were either near the pool or in the entertainment area where children frequently were and to have glasses and cups with the risk of breakages would have posed a safety risk. The hotel did run a courtesy bus every day to Playa Las Americas. All in all an excellent holiday and I am already intending to return to this hotel.

Excellent all inclusive hotel

04 August 2007
Stayed at this hotel in March 2007 for 7 nights in Junior Suite. Separate living room with large bedroom and bathroom with separate shower and bath, bidet and toilet plus another bathroom with sink and toilet. Two sets of patio doors, one from living area and one from bedroom leading onto spacious patio with 2 sunbeds, table and chairs. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker just off living room area. Pools are large and very clean. Great choice of food (buffet style) at breakfast, lunchtime and evening with show cooking fresh fish, chicken, steaks etc. I have been to many all inclusives and this is one of the best so far. Having stayed in the Bahia Principe just down the road in May, I prefer this hotel - staff are more courteous towards the guests than in the Principe. The location is remote if you are looking for nightlife - entertainment is mainly hotel based with the hotel entertainment team/parrot shows/reptile shows etc. I will be returning to this hotel in December 2007.

Just what we wanted

05 July 2007
While it rained in England we sat by one of the two lovely pools at the Dunas Paraiso and thought what a great choice we had made. I went with my mum and my two young daughters, who absolutley loved it. The food was good but never spectacular, but the hotel itself was beautiful. Rooms where a little small as the four of shared and the entertainment team was, at times not really good enough. However, the girls loved thier mini disco and the various shows. My mum had been before and was just as impressed, and I would definitley go back.

Review of 'DUNAS PARAISO'

15 April 2007
We have just returned from spending our Easter week in the Dunas Paraiso in Playa Paraison, Tenerife.  This was our first time going all inclusive.  We are a family of two adults and two boys aged 5 and 8.  They absolutely loved the hotel and the facilities.  They want to return next year.  The food was excellent, the hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly.  The complex itself is well enclosed and safe for young children.  Our room was large and very spacious with all that we needed.  The boys really enjoyed having the "luxury" of their own beds as in the past one has always ended up sleeping on a pull out mattress on the floor.  The entertainment put on by the hotel was also great for the kids.

Review of 'DUNAS PARAISO'

09 April 2007
Travelled with our 2 kids aged 2 and 4.  Arrived to a very impressive reception area and extremely friendly staff with excellent use of English, Spanish, French and German.  We found them to be most helpful, friendly and proifessional at all times.

Not too many British staying here which suits us just fine, although many seemd to be on their second or third visit.

Excellent facilities at this hotel - great gymnasium and a heated pool for the adults and kids.  Good play area for the kids. Good chocie of organised daily activities for children and adults.  Excellent view of the sea - very stunning.

Excellent food choices - probably th most impressive I have experienced at a 4 star hotal (and we've stayed at many).  Huge choices of meats and fishes, local and continental dishes - always something new to try.  Great Chinese and itialien meals available if you book in advacne to eat by the seafront.

Local shops, bars and souvenir shops about a 10 minute walk out the front (follow road around to the right).  Very reasonably priced too.  A great Sports Bar "Talk of The Town" on this stretch too - English run and caters for several football matched at a time (in case you're a fan!.

Good night-time entertainment for the children and adults - children's shows were fun for the adults too and some of the best I have ever seen.  Separate areas for adult and children's entertainment but many adults found the childrens' area more inspiring!  Adult entertainment more laid back which suited many!

Great drinks service and free icecream for kids all day.  bar staff very friendly - especially when you make an effort to speak Spanish.

Small shop for gifts, sweets, newspapers and essentials on site -a little pricey but very handy if you don't fancy a 10 minute walk!

Clean and comfortable rooms which were kept in an immaculate condition.

Would fully recommend!

A very enjoyable time at the Hotel Dunas Paraiso

07 April 2007
Have just returned from a great holiday at the Dunas Paraiso.  Having read some of the reviews from previous holiday makers, we were a little apprehensive before travelling to this hotel but such reviews do not do it justice at all.  It is an excellent all round hotel and we were made very welcome as a family.  There were 11 of us in total from ages 2 to 54 and there really was something for everyone. The entertainment team were great fun and work extremely hard.  The standard and selection of food was excellent.  The only drawback is its location though the small resort of Playa Paraiso is just a short walk away.  I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone who just wants a relaxing family break in the sun.

TheDunas Paraiso was Great , very busy during my stay at half term, but the staff coped great. I read other review's before booking which where a mixed bag, I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly suprised . The reception staff where sometimes a struggle , but the others where great .The food was very nice although not a big selection for vegetarians.Thebar service was good with wine and beer on tap and the rooms where very comfortable. The hotel should have been marked a four star plus. It is a little it out on a limb from the main busy areas which are a bus ride away, but we had a car and ample parking.

better out of peak season

08 July 2006
My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Dunas Paraiso.  We had an enjoyable stay in what is a lovely four star hotel.  The hotel is in a bit of a remote location and even going out for a walk was very difficult due to the terrain around hotel, all uphill and very rocky.  However, there are plenty activities on site.  We had a suite with a sea view and the room was great, even had two bathrooms!  The dining room did tend to become very busy at peak times, finding a table was a bit of a problem and the noise levels quite high, but then it was July.  Food choice was quite varied.  It does state that there is a dress code but this was not adhered too, many people at night still wearing shorts and football tops.  There is another restaurant on site which serves Italian and Chinese on alternative nights but this has to be pre-booked the day before.  This has a more relaxed and unhurried feel about it.  Beautiful pool area but again because of the time of year getting a sun bed was a problem.  You had to queue at 9 am and once the whistle sounded it was a free for all.  Many beds had towels placed on them all day with no sign of the occupants.  We had two sunbeds on our balcony and spent relaxing time sunbathing there. Staff were pleasant and helpful and rooms were spotlessly clean.  Nice pool terrace area, very pleasant for an evening drink. Made use of the courtesy bus into Playa las Americas which took about 25 mins and was very reliable.  Sure this hotel would be ideal outwith peak holiday season when less people there.  Again not really suitsble for anyone who likes a walk in the evening to sample local bars, shops etc. If we went back we would look at going outwith peak season and looking to hire a car to get about.

Review of 'DUNAS PARAISO'

09 March 2006
The hotel was spot on.  Room (junior suite) was the biggest room we have had in a hotel. There was a separate room and bedroom. 2 toilets. Fridge, Microwave and Coffee maker and a brilliant sized balcony.
The pools were fantastic.  The hotel was spotlessly clean.  Can't comment on the entertainment too much as we are not into it - prefer to entertain ourselves! but we did go to one acrobat show which was great.
The food was also great - we never went hungry and there was plenty of choice of freshly cooked meats and fish.  We have a picky 10 year old who thought the food was great.  The chinese themed restaurant was brill - the italian meal was OK.  There were some queues but given it was February half term and the hotel was full, they did not seem unreasonable and they went down quick.
The staff were quick and friendly.
What was really nice about this hotel was that it was not just a british hotel.  There was a full mix of nationalities, which makes for a good holiday. There were not many teenagers there but that made for a nice quiet feel to the place!
There is not a lot in the resort but the hotel has it all.
We had a car but there was a courtesy bus everyday into nearby (10 mins) Americas.

All in all a great relaxing holiday - would definitely return. return

Lovely big hotel with very clean spacious rooms.  Staff are very friendly, polite and efficient.  The only major let down on this hotel is their food; whilst it is of excellent quality, it is not served hot - once they get this aspect right then this is a lovely hotel to stay in.

The location is a bit out of the way, but I was aware of that before I went having stayed in this area of Tenerife on numerous occassions, so if you want the nightlife this is not the place to be, if you want a relaxing quiet holiday, then this area is excellent.
