Christmas 2007 Stay
02 June 2008
Stayed here at Christmas, booked our room with Alpha Rooms & our taxi driver had no trouble finding it. Approx 50 Euros by Taxi from the airport, it takes about 30 minutes. Booked in no problem at all reception all speak good English. We stayed on a self catering basis so cannot comment on the food but i can say there are numerous restaurants within 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms were cleaned every other day inc towel change & all the kitchen items you would need were there ie Kettle,Toaster, Microwave etc. You paid a deposit of 15 euros for air con remote & tv aerial which you got back upon return, but only 1 English speaking news channel on tv. Attached to the hotel is a supermarket which bakes its own bread every day including Chrismas day & has eveything you would need. The beach at Playa Del A Arena is 5 minutes away on a fairly flatish walk. The pool is on the fourth floor with lovely views out to sea across the road including the island of La Gomera. All in all we could not complain about the apartments or the area as it was just what we were looking for as in no hassle & lovely walks

couple who enjoy a winter sunbreak
05 February 2008
We just got back yesterday from our holiday.Enjoyed the hotel got aremote control and cable for t.v. to discover there was no english channel at all, so a bit of a waste of time. Staff were very friendly and efficient and went out of their way to help in any way. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the Dragos del Sur.

Very Good BUT it Should be Better
19 July 2007
The Hotel excellent, the room huge, the service perfect, the stuff the BEST, the sea close to the hotel, only for a day, waves, wind and rocks. The Bad things, with the meal and breakfast they don't offer you WATER. You have to pay for this in the bar. The rooms they don't have TV. You have to pay for this also. I believe that a hotel like this it worth the money BUT they have to change these to be full 5stars in all rates.

The hotel is in an excellent position and nearly all the balconys face south looking over the bay receiving all day sunshine. Rooms are large and clean. Our only disappointments were the gym/sauna area is run down and the pool was not heated. Otherwise very good.

Review of 'DRAGOS DEL SUR'
18 August 2006
We booked the Dragos del Sur in early August. We found the hotel very well equipped and our 2 bed. apartment was surprisingly spacious and very clean. It would easily have catered for 4/5 adults with no space problems. The customer service was first rate. There is a small pool that was ample for the number of users and we had no problems getting a sunbed at any time of the day. The resort itself is very quiet, but it was only a short walk to the livelier area of Playa Arena or a 3 euro taxi ride to Los Gigantes (even these places we found were not over commercialised). Eating out was very reasonable with a good choice of restaurants. The Little Mexico was very good value for money and within 60 yds of the hotel, although its popularity made it a little crowded at times. Another recommendation would be the Neptune Restaurant right next to the beach overlooking the sea at Playa Arena. Good food, good value, good service and a nice setting. The minus points - not many really. The hotel did not have a sign at the front, which left us a little lost when we first arrived at 3am, and the in-house entertainment is basically none existent - however, for a "chill out" holiday we found the resort spot on.

Review of 'DRAGOS DEL SUR'
11 January 2006
The hotel is situated in a beautiful area. It is well equipped and has a beautiful balcony view of the sea. The sun rises in the morning on the balcony and rises there as well. The pool and solarium are just perfect. The hotel is alongside some very enjoyable restaurants especially the hotel restaurant and 'little mexico'- Very reasonably priced! The beach is no more than a 5 minute walk. The town itself is very relaxing and i would recommend it for those who want to get away from hectic everyday life. There are some disco pubs in the town also which have good entertainment...id recommend Highland Paddy 2.
Well thats all i can say only to go and see for urself. 4/5 for me. Im hoping to return during the year.

Review of 'DRAGOS DEL SUR'
06 May 2005
We stayed at this hotel August 2004. It was our first time in Tenerife. The hotel is actually situated in Puerto Santiago. It is situated at one end on the town about 5 mins drive from Los Gigantes. We are a family of 6, childrens ages range from 15 to 5. The hotel itself was fantastic. The 2 bed apartment we stayed in was large and recently refurbished. The air con was a must as it was very hot in August. The town was small but well equipped with plenty of bars and restaurants (very good fish ones). The beach is black and very steep, not good for bathing, but Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes are fantastic holiday resorts and I will revisit very soon.
