would never go back

24 June 2008
We stayed there for 2 weeks in July. It was basic but clean, staff were great ( that covers the 1 star rating ) but the towels were changed once a week.On the downside.......Noise!....Noise! .....Noise!.....It was impossible to sleep. With no security guard, drunken people were skinny dipping in the pool throughout the night screaming & shouting. Doors were slammed constantly & people run amok. One family even paid £700 to move to different accommodation. Would we go back?.....Not on your life!...Even if they paid us!!

would use don gregorio again

27 April 2008
22 April 08 Just got back from a lovely week in Benidorm. Haven't been there for 30 years, loads to do etc. Apartments were very clean and stocked with all the crockery etc you would need. The only thing I would say is if I hadnt read the reviews I,m not sure if Alpharooms would have told me about the key situation, having to get it from another hotel. It was no problem though there was a note on the gate to tell us exactly where to get keys, and the lady in the Juke box pub ran us down in her car and waited for us till we paid the deposit etc. A couple staying there opened the gate for us so we could leave our suitcase in the foyer. We had to do the same for another couple who arrived and had no idea what to do, as there was no note for them. All in all I would definitely stay here again. It was quiet, ideal for the beach, shops, bars etc. You never know what to expect when you go book things yourself, but we were pleasantly surprised. Ive seen revies about the hill being steep, but it is no bother at all. See you next year.

good value for money

18 April 2008
Good value for money apts, got there 4pm and we only had to wait a couple of mins for guy on reception who was very friendly and helpful he took £50 in English money as our bond which was great,we left at 3am so he returned our bond the day before which was very trustful as we still had nearly a full day in apt.Apt was clean and spacious and in an ok position just a few minutes to main strip. We stayed 12-17th April and thou it was full it wasnt noisy, that could be different in high season but so is every where else.Would use these apts again.

Bargain Break

14 March 2008
Don Gregorio is a clean self contained apartment block with 2 apartments on each of the 14 floors. It is situated on a slight incline approx 10 mins walk from playa levante beach. The apts were spacious with a living area/kitchen, bedroom ( 2 single beds),Small utility, bathroom and a further small room that we did not have the need to use. The balcony was really large, had table and chairs and caught the best of the afternoon sun. We used the small outdoor area/pool for a couple of hours, was very private and good place to relax in the sun. Negatives were - had to pick keys up from a different apt block with little instruction how to get there (approx 20 minutes walk), we hired a car, but would have been a pain without. Some plaster was peeling from ceiling in bathroom, no new towels in our 5 day stay. Positives - Clean, spacious apts, not the Hilton but very functional, private (outer gates locked over night and when reception are not present), good base location and great value for money. You will have to pay a 100 Euro deposit on arrival - this was returned immediately as we checked out.Tips - Stretford End pub 1Euro per pint just around corner.

Very clean and spacious, good value

15 January 2008
Having stayed in Benidorm Christmas/New year for the past 15 years ,i can honestly say that that these apartments are the best we have stayed in. The Apartment block is 250 mts up a small Hill Our apartment consisted of Large living area a large second room with table and chairs. Large bed room, good sized Bathroom with bath/shower, Nicely fitted kitchen and a small wash room and a large balcony with sea view, My only gripe is that a lovely bar bar down in the reception area was closed during our stay but having said that there are bars within 3 Min's walk Supermarket 2 Min's walk and the main indoor market is only 5 Min's walk. A taxi from the old town costs no more than 6 euros. Great location, great apartments ,great holiday. Thanks Alpharooms.

oct 2007 never again

25 October 2007
Had both apartments on the top floor, views were fantastic but there was no open balcony. Rooms were very basic but clean enough though the lightning was very poor. No lights when you come out of the lifts. Main concern was that the towels were only changed if you stayed 8 days and the bed wasn't changed till you had been there 9 days. There was no security lights outside if you were coming in late or if anyone approached the building after dark. Staff were friendly enough and did there best to help but I would definitely not stay there again

We stayed here from Friday to Monday. The apartments were great value you for money very clean and very friendly staff. The only problem was that we had a late arrival and had to walk for miles to collect the keys so check this before you arrive. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here over the weekend fri 13th till mon the 16th, the apartments are spaceious and clean for the price, and they are in a ok location. Pay for what u get, but if u r arriving a funny time, find out where to pick the keys up in advance because the pick up is quite far, as these apts have no 24hr location.

The apartments were clean but basic. There were some faults like a floor tile was loose in the living room area, the fridge was full of rust and needed replacing, the cooker was unusable and dirty. It is ok if you just want a bed for the night, but we arrived on a sunday afternoon and found a note telling us to pick our keys up from another apartment complex which was a good 15 to 20 minute walk from our apartments. The good thing about them was they were central to the cafes and night life.We would consider using them again as they had a nice pool and views of the mountains.

Review of 'DON GREGORIO'

09 February 2007
Despite what I had read the security appeared to be pretty good...though I did hear rumours from the local pub of burglaries. However with a day porter, a tall strong  external gate and solid internal doors it would have had to be an inside job!
Anyway that aside thought, the accomodation, though pretty basic offered good value for money. My only gripes would be that the heating wasn't very good for the January climate and the external locks were ill fitting (probably worn) so that you have to fiddle with the keys for a considerable time. But all in all it was ok and in a good location in Rincon de Loixe.

Review of 'DON GREGORIO'

Me and my dad stayed in these apartments in 2005 and we found it to be a very enjoyable holiday.
The apartments were first class, they were spacious and clean and bright. A great feature of the apartments is the sunroom which gets very warm during the day!!!
The security was second to none. There were big gates at the entrance of the property and they were locked 24/7 and only residence could gain access to them. Once inside the grounds, you had to use the same key again to get into the building. Then on top of that, the apartments had three locks on the doors. I think it would have been quite impossible to gain access if you were not a resident.
The only negative thing was the lifts. There were two lifts, both small, and they were very old, creeky and quite frightening. I found myself climbing the eight flights of stairs most of the time. Also, there was only one member of staff at the apartments and he was only to be seen for a few hours on a afternoon.
Overall, i think these apartments were well worth the money and well worth booking!!!

Review of 'DON GREGORIO'

03 December 2006
The location of Don Gregorio was perfect for us - close enough to the hustle and bustle of Benidorm but far enough away for it to be in a quiet area.  First class supermarket just up the road.

The guy in the reception area was very pleasant and helpful - he was even expecting us when we arrived which being a Sunday morning I was a bit doubtful about, thinking we might have to tour round Benidrom searching for the keys.  The security of the apartment block was excellent as was the first class (free of charge) car park.

On the down side, the apartment was very basic (but clean) and unfortunately the grill/oven didn't work - but let's face it you only get what you pay for and this was a very cheap price.

All in all a good week with no real problems at all.
