My 2nd visit to the Portobello
Vilamoura is a great location for any type of break, I went for 3 days (gate crashing my husband's annual golf holiday) in Mid January.
I travelled on my own with a 3 year old, the hotel was very accomodating.
We didn't have a car for such a short break and found plenty to keep us occupied. Nice walk along the front to next town of Quarteira, which has a good street market (think it was Wednesday)
The hotel is very clean in both the rooms and public areas.
We had a One Bedroomed appartment, it was extremely spacious and well equiped. So nice to have the little kitchen, to make a sandwich or lite bite, made even easier with a Supermarket right next door, and with the exchange rate of the Euro saved us a few pennies.
There are plenty of places to eat in the evening to suit all pockets. There is even a Pizza place that will deliver and a Chinese take out if that's your bag.
Breakfast was well worth getting up for.
Any criticism.......the bathrooms are a bit dark and dingy and could do with a revamp, and I think as with many Portuguese hotels that I have stayed in over the years if you mentally knock of one the hotel's stars you won't be disappointed. I would readily go again and probably will.
Overall fantastic value for money.
