Does what it says on the tin.......

14 February 2008
This Hotel is easy to find, I found it easy to park (although it was Feb so may change in the summer months). The reception staff were courteous and efficient, not overly friendly but suited me, I had access to free internet use although they could have done with more than one PC, they do have wi-fi but how many people take their laptops on holiday? The hotel was immaculately clean, my room spotless, got bored of the TV channels but then I wasn't really there to watch TV!) and as mentioned in other reviews, cleaned well every day with all used items (loo rolls etc) being replaced as necc. would have liked to have a few snacks in the mini bar, not just drinks. The Pizza delivery to the room service was not operating but this may be seasonal as the pizza restaurant (in the next hotel) was closed. The seasonality might explain why they had also chosen February to completely rebuild the pool, should be nice for all of you going this summer! Having said that, the beach (and what a beach!) is a short stroll away, as is the Marina which has bars and restaurants and cafes and shops on all 3 sides! You really could eat your way around the world but it is also worth venturing in to the side streets to find some typical Portugese restaurants too. Breakfast at the hotel is very good although the bacon may not be to British tastes and they do have a habit of serving some pretty weird scrambled eggs and peppers and onion combos and also meatballs for breakfast? But, if you cannot satisfy your hunger with the copious amounts of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, coffee, toast.........YOU MAY AS WELL GIVE UP!!! I didn't eat at the hotel in the evening for earlier reasons (so much choice) but did take a small beer at the bar for 3 euros, this is about twice the price as at the bars in the marina so i know where my money went! On the plus side, they did have live music (not to my taste but you can't please everyone!). Anyway, in short, unless you are expecting five star luxury, this hotel has everything you'll need and does pretty much, exactly what it says on the tin! PS, if you can get a room overlooking the sea, all the better! Have a good time!

Revisit to Dom Pedro Marina

06 June 2007
I had stayed in this hotel a few years ago and was very impressed with it then. My return visit was equally impressive. This hotel is ideal for all types of holiday makers, i.e. couples, families, golfers. The hotel is well used to looking after all types of holiday makers and the level of service is excellent. Any requests that were made to the staff were dealt with in a really friendly and efficient way. They were extremely helpful. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. Plenty of space in the room. If you are a family there is the option of much larger family rooms overlooking the sea. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. We stayed on a B&B Basis which I would recommend because there is plenty of choice for breakfast and you then have the option of visiting the marina and the plentiful restaurants. These are situated within 5 minutes walk of the hotel and you could choose a different restaurant each night. For those who like shopping, there is quite a good selection of shops on the marina or Albufeira is a short bus ride away and offers more choices. For families, everything is also on the doorstep, and although pool area is small, the beach is literally across road from hotel. I will be returning to the Dom Pedro Marina with a group of golfers later this year.

Review of 'Dom Pedro Marina'

06 April 2007
This is our 3rd stay in Vilamoura and our 2nd stay at the Dom Pedro Marina ( the other time we stayed in Dom Pedro Golf - very similar, but not such good location and no family rooms!) .  This hotel has one of the best locations in town! Just a few steps takes you to the lovely Vilamoura marina and its vast array of restaurants.  A five minuite walk and you're on the sandy beaches so ideal for young families.  Our hotel room was a family suite which consisted of two seperate sleepng areas and a small sitting area and en-suite facilities.  The room was very clean and large enough for 4 people with lots of storage space.  Breakfast was included in the price and had plenty of selection with something to suit all tastes.  Staff at this hotel are all very friendly and very accomodating.  The pool area is nice but not huge. This hotel caters well for families and couples aswell as groups of golfers. Not luxurious but very clean and comfortable would definately stay here again as it is such good value for money.

Girlie Holiday to Portugal - Dom Pedro Marina

29 June 2006
The Dom Pedro Marina is in a fantastic location, just off the marina which has plenty of nice restaurant's and bar's to choose from.   For those who like the open water there are different types of boat trips near by.   Local transport is available just outside the hotel and we found this excellent to venture further a field. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpfull, the pool area is very relaxing with a small pool area for children.  I would thoroughly recommend the Dom Pendro Marina Hotel.

Review of 'DOM PEDRO MARINA'

08 June 2006
Stayed at the Dom Pedro Marina between May 30th and June 3rd as a 4 day golf trip. In essence the holiday was supposed to be time out or time to recouperate however, due to the competition of the golf and the close proximity of the Marina and nightlife it was anything but! The hotel was very clean and the other guests all seemed to have a similar agenda to our own which was to have a great time. Plenty of golfers even though apparently we went towards the end of season. Only made it to one breakfast but from what i can remember i was pleasant and for dinner there are alot of restuarants close buy with a broad range of cuisine so something to please everyone. Our room was a fair size and beds were comfy which is unusual when its not your own, maids came in everyday to tidy up what looked like a bomb site and they even left all the valuables alone, nice one! To summerize i would say that the Dom Pedro is a great place to stay and wouldn't hesitate to return one day!
