The Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge invites guests to escape to this secluded African lodge-style Resort set amidst 33 acres of tropical savannah. Stroll the many meandering pathways to encounter more than 30 species of wildlife up close in this wondrous habitat. Guest rooms create the African feel, with rich coloured tapestries and hand carved furnishings. Private balconies offer the chance to spot a zebra, giraffe and other wildlife strolling by. The en suite guest rooms are well appointed with all of the modern comforts you would expect of a hotel of its class, including television. For the convenience of guests the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to all of the Walt Disney World Resorts. Within the resort guests can make use of the swimming pool, wading pool and waterslide, restaurants and bars, the health club and spa, and various sports. For younger guests the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge provides a fun club, playground, games room and swimming pool. PLEASE NOTE: The hotel is currently building the new Disney Animal Kingdom Villas. Works are expected to be complete in 2009 and will be completed between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and guests may see or hear some of the construction, but otherwise there will be minimal impact to the overall experience. PLEASE NOTE: From 1st June 2007, all Disney hotels will become smoke-free environments. This policy includes all guest rooms, balconies, patios, meeting spaces, restaurants, lounges and public space. Smoking will be allowed in designated outdoor smoking locations only.
