Diana

Situated on the beach in Tossa (minor road between sand and Hotel which is closed in Summer to all but a few local deliveries)the DIANA is a hotel with character and a friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in a sea view room (worth the extra cost) which was a good size and had an enclsed balcony. The room was well serviced daily and was quiet at night (even in Mid August). With the windows open faint sounds of mid night beach revellers were only heard if visiting the bathroom in the middle of the night (an age related thing!!).

The communal rooms are not used much but are cool and very pretty. Nice stained glass and Gaudi influenced design. Had a classy feel to them.

Breakfasts were excellent. Great choice, eat as much as you like and quality foods. The bar still brings bottles to your table to pour your very generous measures! Food taken on the terrace at night was good but the menu is a little tourist orientated.

The staff bent over backwards to help us accomodate 2 cycles so we didn't have to leave them on our car left in the Hotel car park. They also chased the laundry (which is subcontracted out) when it did not arrive back on time. Whilst the car park is a 10 min walk away it did not pose problems. It is secure (being beside a sister Hotel) and with Automatic locking doors. Don't let this put you off as you walk through the town streets to reach it and get a taste of the life of Tossa.

In short, a great little, friendly hotel. Worth paying the extra to be in quality surroundings with a small number of other guests. This also ensures good service. Give it a try!
