Review of 'Cranley Gardens'

Cranley Gardens is a convenient 10 minute walk from Gloucester Road Tube Station. The hotel is clean and friendly and relatively cheap for central London. I thought the accommodation was a bit on the shabby side, the furniture was quite basic, old style cane effect and the same theme was in the breakfast room. The bed was hard and mattress was old, I could feel the springs and they still use blankets on the bed. Bathroom was clean and fresh, perhaps Tea/Coffee facilities in the room would have been a nice touch. Breakfast is basic, described as continental, though most Europeans would not consider toast and cereal a continental breakfast. There was fruit, with a choice of either tinned peach slices or prunes. An English cooked breakfast was available to about £7.
If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful bed for a a couple of nights in London, Cranley Gardens is okay.
