Enjoy!!!

30 June 2008
My partner and I have stayed on many hotels, But the Cotillo Beach has now become one of the best we have stayed in. The staff were fantastic and helped in any way they could. The Hotel and its facilities and gardens were immaculate! If you need a quiet relaxing holiday to recover from your hectic life this is the place to go! We thought the food was fantastic if you want English food every day this is not the place to go as the food was very Spanish with lots of wonderful fish, plus many other dishes every day. We have visited the laggons and white beach many times before, but this is the first time we have stayed there. The little fishing village and its quaint harbour is something out of a picture book and then you walk round the corner and see the wonderful beach. Best holiday we have had for a very long time!!!!

Perfect getaway holiday.

If you want a quiet, chilled, relaxed holiday beside white sand lagoons in a new friendly undiscovered hotel, then this is the place. We stayed all-inclusive and found plenty of everything including the drink. It was brilliant value for money. One tip is to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner as soon as possible to get the food fresh and warm. There we very few guests but the hotel did not cut back on anything except staff to cater for us. It really is very quiet but we made friends with some guests and made our own entertainment. We will definetly go back to this hotel as it catered for the type of holiday we prefer.

Value for Money

23 February 2008
Just returned from one week at the Cotillo Beach and we were very pleasantly surprised, having read some other reviews. The hotel was quiet but the service was good, we never had to wait too long to be served. The room was lovely and towels were changed 3 times. There is a lot of building work in El Cotillo but we never heard any noise from it. All the staff were friendly and Michael on reception is extremely pleasant and helpful and knowledgable about the area. The food was sometimes a bit lukewarm but my husband is a really fussy eater and he found something he would eat every night - we only ate out once. Breakfasts are good with lots of choice and always an abundance of fresh fruit. It would have been nice to have some entertainment in the evenings - out of season there is nothing so we drove to Corralejo for this but Michael said that when the hotel is busy they do have bands etc. The atmosphere in the dining room could be improved by softer lighting and some background music - it was more like a canteen than a dining room. Overall we felt we got excellent value for money and would definitely return.

Good and Bad

28 December 2007
So much of the experience of staying at The Cotillo Beach was extremely good. This is how we would rate it (in marks out of 5) Staff = 5+ (All members of staff were excellent!) Food = 2 - (sometimes worse than that even!) Room = 4 Bar = 3 Hotel Main Facilities = 4 Entertainment = 3 Great for kids, that's all we can say! Sea View = 2 (there is new building work immediately in front of this hotel which now restricts most of the fantastic view) Extra notes - the hot drinks in the restaurant were awful, I've never had to drink water each day with breakfast before! The wine wasn't bad! The food is probably the worst we have eaten in 10 years of holidaying in Fuerteventura. There was often a long wait in the bar before someone arrived to serve the drinks. However, when poured they were excellent. Would we return - yes - but we would think carefully about choosing all inclusive, simply because of the food. We had one meal in a week, that we could truly say was even good! Oh yes ... the bread, the salads and the fruit were all nice! Thanks again to all the staff who are truly above average!

Dissapointed

The Cotillo Beach Hotel is a new and attractive building. The bedrooms were good and the daily cleaning service (except on Tuesdays and Saturdays) was good. The gardens and pool was a very well laid out facility, and a nice view from our balcony. That is where my praise ends. The bar and snack bar area was dreadful, and service was poor. We had to call into the kitchens to find someone to serve us a drink. As for the restaurant, it was a disaster. Breakfast was passable providing you avoided the hot food, which was usually cold and dried up looking. The evening meals were apalling, and we ate out most of the time. Food quality was poor and food was not hot. And there was not a nice atmosphere for enjoying a relaxing evening meal. I'm sorry we won't be back. But we will be back to El Cotillo, as we love the place. I will give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and say that as it is off peak that when they are busier and can carry more staff, I would expect the service to be much better.

For value for money - this hotel is excellent. A few problems with standard of dress of one of the waiters, and a struggle to have drinks served in glasses (as opposed to plastic cups) in both the restaurant and bar. Also a mini battle over the early closing of the bar at night. All of these were resolved immediately by the very helpful Hotel Manager - who will also consider making a micro-wave available in the restaurant. Will definately be back.

Excellent

My wife and I have just arrived home from this hotel and have had a great stay there. This is a superb 3 star hotel and would have recived a 5 if there had been a fridge and drink making facilities in the room. The staff at this hotel were friendly, efficient and charming. One piece of advice do not have a 'ocean view' room as there is a lot of building going on the 'ocean view'. Will I go back-bet your life I will this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in.
