Just returned from 3night stay at this hotel, toook others advise and had a sea veiw on top 7th floor. Thi sfloor has sun all day. There are road works going on on the front but you can get on the beach. Also hotel to the right is having building works done. But not too bad.The hotel is spotless every where but the food is poor, very basic but as it was such a good deal you can eat out very cheap.

Corona del mar
30 November 2007
Have used the hotel twice in 2007, most recent visit was 15th to 29th Nov.
Well managed hotel god situation, but bewaremajor works on going on remdeling the promenade fronting the Poniente beach whic is very close to the hotel. The work is scheduled to take 12 months.
Food is plentiful with the cold buffets being excellent, the hot buffet leaves something to be desired in terms of taste. In the spring and autumn pay the extra for the sea or pool view rooms. Rear facing rooms overlook a cemetery and a fast food outlet.
Guests at our last stay were VERY senior citizents. Entertainment is good but aimed at the more mature.
Our next visit will be when the road works are completeed

Review of Coruna del Mar
20 June 2007
3 March and 20 May
Situated on the edge of the Old Town and across a very busy road from the Poniente beach, the Corona del Mar is a very friendly spotlessly clean hotel. The food isn't very exciting and the choice is limited, likewise the eveving entertainment but there is plenty of other places to go in the evening. It's this hotel I always choose whenever I come to Benidorm.

'SIMPLY THE BEST'
20 April 2007
Stayed here 10th April for 1 week.Have been to benidorm 5 times before this trip and stayed in self catering and half board accomodation, but must say the Corona Del Mar is absolutley the best we have been in by far. We booked a sea view which was recomended by other peoples reviews and this was well worth the little extra it cost, this was a very good start to our holiday. Breakfast was excellent, fantastic choice of full english or continental. Then there was evening meal, what a choice so much to choose from and very tastey too, as spanish food in hotels tends to be very repetative and bland but not at this hotel.Very helpful staff on reception, beds made every day along with towel change, i could go on and on. Overall a fantastic holiday and will be returning next year to this hotel.

Review of 'CORONA DEL MAR'
11 June 2006
We have stayed at the Corona Del Mar before 3years ago and found it to be a Good Friendly,Very Clean hotel. This time it was just as good especially the cleanliness and the food was also Very Good. There is a lot of Spanish locals who use it especially at night time but this does add to the lively atmosphere.Well positioned to be able to walk to the lively areas of Benidorm but quiet enough at night time.

Review of 'CORONA DEL MAR'
01 May 2006
A very friendly hotel, food average with a choice of fish or 2/3 meats for main course and plenty of varity. Large bedrooms and ours was overlooking the pool. Unfortunately, it was overlooked as are most hotel rooms being that Benidorm is very high rise buildings and very compact. We travelled independently and were surprised to be charged for car parking at the hotel as there is nothing to state there is a charge when booking. This was a locked car park so is unstandable but it would have been nice to have known about this beforehand. The beach is just across the road and very clean. We travelled at the end of April 2006 so had plenty of choice for sunbeds. Don't know if we will return as it is not exactly our choice of holiday but cannot explain why. Levante beach seemed more livelier but we were told Poniente beach is quiet and this was more our scene.

Review of 'CORONA DEL MAR'
11 January 2006
We were a party of 18 - 3 having booked through yourselfs. We were last to arrive on "hogmany" at approx 7pm. Festivities were to start at 7.30pm. On arrival at hotel, first impressions good, the resecptionist explained that the hogmany dinner was to start at 7.30pm, we looked at our watch and realized that only gave us 30mins to shower and change. My husband was wearing the kilt, as were the other males in our party, this takes quite a while to get organised. The receptionist said not to worry as the dinner would not start until we were down, which it did! The staff, rooms, meals and entertainment were excellent. The person in charge of the entertainment always tried to play some scottish music throughout each evening which we dully responded to - as did the other Scots in the hotel. The weather - the first couple of days was really warm then it got a bit cooler - this didn't spoil it for us. We took the boat trip to Calpe, lovely day out - apart from a few of us feeling a bit queasy. Our visit to the Terra Natura (zoo) was great, especially the Latin Americian dancers and the chaps that climbed up an 80ft pole - worth seeing. The animals seemed well looked after, we all enjoined seeing the different continents - agree with previous review will be worth seeing once completed. On the 5th January (this is when the spaniards exchange presents) there was a parade which lasted for a couple of hours, starting at approx 6pm - the wise men taking gifts. There was music, animals - highland cows, geese, sheep, cows, horses, tiger pup and much more. We were glad to have not missed this. This was our second New Year in Benidorm and hopefully will not be our last. This is the second time we have travelled in a party of 18 and no matter where we went - bar, cafe we were always well accepted. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or Benidorm itself.

Top marks for 'CORONA DEL MAR' Benidorm
06 November 2005
Price for 5 nights for 2 adults 2 children inland room only 450 euro half board presented excellent value.
The hotel is situated jut 1 minutes walk from the poniente beach which is ideal for families being safe for swimming and much quieter than the busy levante beach area.
The old town is just 5 minutes walk for shopping and excellent Spanish restaurants and tapas bars.
The hotel offers good amenities with and indoor heated pool and small gym open daily. the outdoor pool is large with plenty of sun beds.
Rooms are large and all have balconies with either inland, pool or seaviews. It is worth the extra cost of a seaview room. Rooms are cleaned and serviced daily. Bathrooms are large and well equipped. All rooms have a minibar which for a 4 star hotel is very cheap, in fact all prices at the hotel are great value being cheaper than many local bars. Half board guests can take the buffet lunch for only an extra 5.50 euro which is half normal price.
The buffet restaurant offers a good choice of dishes each day with daily specials etc. The food is fresh and of a high standard with Spanish and european dishes. There is a gala dinner once a week included in the price.
The bar and lounge areas are comfortable with live music most nights and regular guest artists. The outside terrace is a good place to watch the world go by although not ideal for young children as it is near to the main road.
To sum up this hotel lives up to it´s rating with very good staff who are very attentive and well trained. The guests are a good mix of nationalities making this a good choice if you wish too avoid the " all British " reputaion of Benidorm. The situation is good being minutes walk to the airport direct coach service, bus stops and taxi rank.
If you are new to Benidorm I can recommend a visit to La Cala beach a short bus ride (No.5) which you can pick up 100 meters to the right of the hotel. Here you will find an uncrowded beach with fantastic restaurants on the beach who do a 4 course menu of the day for 9 euro including wine.
If you have a car then I can recommend a trip to the mountains. Guadalest is a good place to head to see the best views and visit the old village built on a peak. From there head inland towards Alcoi the city built in the mountains which used to be the capital of the region and is now home to 100,000 residents in a city of bridges spanning the mountains.

Review of 'CORONA DEL MAR'
07 October 2005
Carole and Joe went for the second time this year. This hotel is extremely clean throughout. The food is fine but not exciting. Go for full board as it only costs £3 extra and the food is as good as at dinner (4 courses). One thing which is lacking is there is nowhere to sit and relax except in the bar. The hotel is very popular with the Spanish and so the entertainment is geared more to them but there is plenty going on elsewhere in town to cater for all tastes and ages. Book a seaview room or you will be overlooking Burger King and the local cemetery. The balconies are large and comfortable as are the bedrooms and bathrooms. All in all we enjoyed our second visit of 2 weeks from 20 September 2005. We went in March for a week and this made us want to return. Not necessarily for the young, more for middle aged and upwards. Seemed very suitable for the disabled. Very good situation close to the old town. Do not waste your money on Terra Natura (zoo). It will be nice when it's finished! Do have a sail to Calpe, a complete contrast to busy Benidorm. We could not complain about prices in Benidorm, as most were very reasonable especially in the hotel (surprising) and we were not ripped off at all in 2 weeks. Go across the road to enjoy 12 grilled King Prawns the for equiv of £5, they are fantastic with a glass of white wine. If you like your food plainish and plentiful and cleanliness is a priority to you as it is to us, then visit the Corona Del Mar.
