29 June 2008

All in all, a brilliant place for a budget holiday. Weather was great too!!

Great value and location.
13 May 2008
Couldn't get better than the Comodoro for money. We had a very large studio with a large kitchen area and a very big balcony with a table and chairs. Amazing sea view. Pool spotless and well maintained around. Lovely kiddies pool. Great location. Two minutes walk from everything. Friendly staff, Will def be going back. A well kept secret!

22 April 2008
Spent the past 8 nights in Comodoro. Great place to stay, very central in Los Cristianos. Studio apartment was very clean with friendly staff, also had great view of the beach. Will definitely stay there again. Fantastic value for a cheap holiday.

Good 1* hotel
04 March 2008
Very cheap hotel! Paid only 360 euros for 10 nights, 2 persons. It's a one star hotel and that's what it is. Very basic but enough room. Nice balcony, very basic kitchen and bathroom. Very small bath and only warm water for 5-10 minutes (so no warm bath). Got allmost every day clean towels (except for the days that we were still in bed (9.30) when the staff came. Beds really need replacement but still, i had no problem sleeping (my gf had). Swimming pool and garden looked good. I wanted a cheap hotel and i got it. Expected nothing and got more so it was fine for us. If I go back, i'd book it again. Just remember it's only a one star hotel.

NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
03 March 2008
Very good location on the sea front and reasonable rates, but these apartments are definitely NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. Despite requesting a ground floor apartment we were allocated an 11th floor apartment with large balcony. As the building looks like 1960's design, the balcony balustrade has large gaps at the sides which any young child could easily slip through and fall to their death! After some discussion with the manager we were eventually allocated a 2nd floor apartment and the gaps in the balustrade were blocked with a couple of lengths of timber by the handyman. This was still not safe, so if you have children do not bring them here. We were somewhat disturbed by the fact that the staff seemed oblivious of the potential danger. Apart from that the apartments are fine for the price.

Our Holiday 2007
02 February 2008
We arrived late at night the reception was manned by a security guard. He was very pleasant and gave us our keys to the apartment in an envelope with our name on.TO OUR SURPRISE the envelope was marked STUDIO when we had paid for an APARTMENT.We tried to explain the mix up but he did not speak good English so we accepted the studio for the night.OH DEAR!!This was terrible, hot and stuffy we had to leave the patio door open all night.Ten minutes after entering our studio there was a knock at the door.it was the security man asking us to keep the noise down!!We were only talking but someone had made a complaint.Ok we adhered to this request.
Next day we went to reception and were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely Scottish lady at the desk, she was very helpful and managed to find us another studio as apartments were overbooked. This studio 110 was great!!lovely view of the gardens and pool also side view of the sea and ferries coming in and out.Bar is brill and service exeptional Louis and missus were great.Pool is good and very well looked after as are the gardens.Rooms are tended but not cleaned but we managed to do this ourselves no problem.Taxi rank right outside main entrance easy fot retun to airport and any trips you want to make.Exit rear near pool takes you to beach and restaurants all near by,excellent location. All in all a pleasant place to stay near all amenities and good service. Will be going back August 2008.

Cheap and Cheerful?
31 January 2008
This hotel was not expensive (£34 for the night) and fortunately we only stayed for one night before getting the ferry to La Gomera. However there is plenty of room for improvement. The beds were terrible (2 singles, no double and the beds couldn't even be pushed together as they were of different heights!). Very old mattresses I would guess. The whole flat was rather 'battered about' which is a shame as with a tiny bit of tlc and about 50 euros the place could be transformed into somewhere MUCH nicer. The owners obviously just aren't interested. The location was good but there was live music playing quite close by which kept us awake until about 1am. The windows could not be securely locked and security as a whole felt a bit dodgy.

Comodoro Location OK but beds uncomode
27 January 2008
Stayed at the comodoro in january 9th floor (torre). Location is great, appartment was ok. Cooking with gas was difficult. Limited Kitchen utensils (no big pan). It was clean although in some corners it could be cleaner. The mattresses need replacemant, you feel like lying on a bunch of wires. Other improvement could be a microwave and a TV. The fridge was old and noisy - i think replace them would save the hotel a lot of energy.
Would go there again only if beds are replaced !!

The Comodoro - Great Value ?
18 January 2008
Lets get this straight. We paid £170 for a week for 2 of us in the Comodoro. It is a 1* hotel, so don't expect 4 or 5 star luxury... but once you get it in your head that the Comodoro is 1* and you've only paid peanuts, then you realise that the Comodoro is actually not bad at all. The gardens were lovely, as were the pools. The whole place was clean. We got clean sheets half way through our week, and we got clean towels EVERY day, although we had to collar the cleaner every day to get them changed(we just looked round the hotel until we found her). The beds were comfortable(just) and the bar is fairly cheap.... Yes, there were a couple of plugs hanging off the wall, and Yes, the cleaner never came into the room to clean it(we did it ourselves) and I would NOT recommend my friends to stay here(they wouldn't understand)... BUT, I would DEFINITELY stay here again... just remember, IT IS A ONE STAR HOTEL...Oh ! and we didn't see any cockroaches or ants all week. We were going to book into the "Sol Tenerife" and pay over £500 but opted instead for a cheap hotel.. We're glad we did, and we're glad it was the Comodoro. DEFINITELY VALUE FOR MONEY.

Great Place to Stay
26 November 2007
We stayed in the Comodoro, 5th floor from the 12th -19th November 07. The whole complex is clean with very friendly and helpful staff. The apartment for two was very clean, basic, comfortable beds, lovely view and so central to sea, public transport and shopping. Great value will definitely stay in the Comodoro on our next visit to Tenerife.
Thank you Alpharooms for your great service.
