Great Value
11 August 2008
Great location, lots of bars and restuarants. Hotel very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Rooms and shower small but OK, steep stairs - no lifts, not suitable for some people. 30 mins from CDG and close to Metro. An ideal base for those wanting to explore Paris.

Ungrounded Fears
18 June 2008
I have stayed in Paris a few times, usually in 3/4 star hotels closer to the Tower. This was a last minute booking and frankly was one of the last hotels available. I was therefore a bit reticent about staying here.
The street on which the hotel is based is very busy lively and noisy, but although my room was at the front of the hotel, the double glazing and the sound proof curtains blocked out the noise. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is clean and close to a metro station and only a few minutes from one of the "Open Bus Tour" stops at nearby Blanche. The breakfast is good and unlimited and overall the price of the hotel fantastic.
Ok the rooms are on the small side, but who in their right mind goes to Paris to spend all day in their hotel? I would not hestitate to stay here again. You see a bit more of the real Paris than you do nearer to the Tower, and it's about half the price. My fears about staying there were totally unfounded.

Great Value
01 April 2008
Fantastically situated for metro and all sightseeing. Room small but clean and tidy. Only real problem was the shower - door does not open wide enough to allow larger people to use it. Rooms cleaned daily, clean towels every day. Staff really friendly and helpful. Good breakfast (cereal, croissant, baguette, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juice). Not suitable for anyone with problems walking, as stairs hard work (we were on 5th floor). Use Blanche station - walk up Rue Lepic, turn right into Rue Abbesses and hotel is not far up on the right - loads of great eating places on the doorstep. Double glazing good - didn't hear any road noise at all. If shower door had been bigger would have given a 5. Will definitely use on next trip to Paris.

Comfort Hotel Sacre Coeur - Great Value!
03 August 2007
If you need a spacious room - and are willing to pay a lot more to get it - don't stay here, you need a Marriott or Hyatt etc!
However, if you want a fabulous location, really clean hotel, friendly staff and expect to spend your time sightseeing Paris rather than lingering in the hotel this is fantastic value for money. OK, the rooms are small and the bathroom smaller and if you have a room away from the front you won't get a view, but so what? This place is surrounded by nice restaurants, bars and shops which stay open late and the area has a great atmosphere. You can walk in 10 minutes to the Sacre Coeur church, get a wonderful view over the city and see all the outdoor artists in the Place du Tertre.
A good breakfast (by French standards) is provided. One word of warning: rooms are on six floors and there is no lift so you have to use the stairs - you could try requesting a room on a lower floor. Highly recommended if you don't need luxury and can climb stairs!

review of comfort hotel sacre couer
02 June 2007
Just back from 1st visit to Paris, beautiful city although dampered slightly by pouring rain and freezing cold for whole four days! Staff all friendly and rooms cleaned daily. Be warned if you arrive early rooms not available until 2.30pm. Value but exremely cramped, particularly shower area. Main problem was the bed, obvious even on observation it was saggy in the middle but almost impossible to sleep in, especially if back problems!

Review of 'Comfort Hotel Sacre-Coeur'
04 December 2006
This hotel was great value for money. The reception staff were warm and friendly and more than happy to help.
The rooms are basic with double bed, bed side cabinets, wardrobe, desk and chair and TV, but spotlessley clean. Our room was on the fifth floor and be warned there is no lift. The room was on the small side and there wasn't much storage space, but was ideal for a short weekend break. The en-suite was more than adequate with a strong power shower and constant hot water. The room was cleaned daiy and we had fresh bedding and towels every day.
In terms of location, it was great. We were right in the heart of Montmatre and the place has a great atmosphere with lots of market stalls selling fresh produce and people milling around doing their grocery shopping. There are roadworks going on at the moment along the street where the hotel is located, but they were by no means noisey and I personally didn't find it much of an inconvenience. It was a 5 minute walk to the Moulin Rouge and about a 10-15 minute walk to Sacre Coure. There are also plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the area. However, the closest tube station to the hotel, Abesses is currently closed for refurbishment until the end of January, but the hotel is located between two other tube stops: Pigalle and Blance, both of which are about a 5-7 minute walk away.
It's approximately an hours round trip to CDG airport with the tube to Gard de Norde and then the train to CDG and took around 15-20 minutes to get to the centre via tube (Champs Elysee/Eiffel Tower).
I would reccomend this hotel to people who don't want to pay over the odds for accommodation and intend to use the hotel as a base as opposed to spending a lot of time there. Also, as there's no lift, you need to be able to manage to stairs.

Review of 'Comfort Hotel Sacre-Coeur'
04 December 2006
The most remarkable feature of this hotel was its extremely good value which, being of fairly modest means, made my weekend in Paris possible. The hotel was a pleasant although uphill walk from Pigalle metro stop (the stop Abbesse might be closer but was closed for renovation). The hotel staff throughout my two night stay were friendly efficient and courteous. The room I shared with my sister was perfectly adequate bearing in mind its position and price, clean sheets, comfy bed although word of warning here for very large people who might find the beds a little on the narrow side. Our windows overlooked the front but surprisingly little noise came in from outside and we slept well both nights. My daughters' room had a slightly larger bathroom and didn't have our lovely outlook, gain some lose some! Both were quite acceptable since we were realistic in our expectations. Breakfast was the usual buffet style, taken in the converted basement - "cosy", dry, well lit and cheerful. Not a great deal of choice but more ample than a typical breakfast you would get if you ordered 'petit dejeurner' at any of the nearby pavement cafes nearby, orange juice, choice of two cereals, tea coffee and croissants and french bread brought to your table. The neighbourhood itself is just wonderful, with so much to do and see within strolling distance, and this comes into its own in the evenings with no need to cross busy, wide roads or use public transport to get around. After checking out we were able to leave our bags at the hotel reception until we we had finished our last day's sight-seeing and start our journey home after a wonderful weekend in Paris. I would make this hotel my first choice again, clean, friendly, comfortable and above all excellent value for money.

Review of 'Comfort Hotel Sacre-Coeur'
29 October 2006
Fantastic location, possibly one of the best in Paris for a bohemian feel, without the sleeze of a few blocks away in the Pigalle. Abundance of shops open till late, for wonderful food or quality gifts. Hotel was small but with pleasant staff. We were on the 1st floor - good because there is no lift, but we could hear everyone coming in late and slamming the front door shut! Also it's 4 euros a day if you need to use the safe. Small bedroom, no drawers or cupboards,no mirror, tiny clothes hanger. Really tiny bathroom but on the plus side, a really comfortable bed and the shower was powerful and easy to use! Excellent continental breakfast, as much as you want. Rooms cleaned really well every day. Great for a very short break but not for a longer stay. Anyone going soon please note - there are major roadworks all along the street which are due to last till Christmas. This meant it was really noisy outside our room v.early.and all the pavements were being dug up which was a nightmare as you could barely get across the road and there were huge holes everywhere. The nearest Metro stop (Rue Des Abbesses) is also shut as a consequence.

Review of 'COMFORT SACRE-COEUR'
07 April 2006
We wanted to be in the heart of montmartre and thats exactly what we got. Its a couple of blocks from the Moulin Rouge and the super touristy area and theres a metro a few hundred yards away which was handy. The street its on has a genuinely parisian feel with a few lively cafe/bars but overall a normal street (not too hectic) with some amazing foody shops. The room was double glazed so if you get bored of leaning over your balcony watching the world go by you can achieve quiet easily. The rooms are OK not posh but clean and tidy with satalite telly and the ensuit loo and shower room is small but again clean and all you need. Breakfast runs from 7-10 and has a good continental selection. If you want to do a great parisian weekend on a budget then stay here the romance and atmosphere of montmartre make the fact that the rooms furniture dosen't match pretty irrelavant :)

Review of 'COMFORT SACRE-COEUR'
29 July 2005
Starting with a BIG positive ... very helpful polite staff from kitchen staff at breakfast to reception and cleaners. It would be handy to know your room number in French for the kitchen staff member as she has a list to tick and not knowing your number means a longer wait for clean cups crockery etc. Continental breakfast ..croissants,bread,jams,apple puree ???!!..as much coffee and fruit juice as you can drink ...cheese, butter..cornflakes or cocoa pops. The breakfast space is small and rather warm (Wear loose cotton clothing !!)The initial appearance is shabby rather than chic but comfortable bed..don't expect designer sheets and it is AMAZING how small a space you can fit a shower!!!The area is great..lively without being rowdy and plenty of choice of eateries..buses and metro to central Paris and Sacre Coeur within walking distance, Be prepared for lots of steep steps EVEYWHERE Go to Paris Casino for excellent dance show ..hotel will book and arrange taxis. Enjoy yourself ...we did !
