I stayed at this hotel for 1 week at the end of May 08. The entertainment was good, able to get sun loungers every day. Hotel staff were not very friendly ( Reception & Bar staff ) but the maids were lovely. The only down side to this holiday was the noise. young teenagers were coming in from the night club at all hours, from 2am till 6am and making a lot of noise. this became a problem to me as i do not have problems sleeping but they kept me awake 4 nights of the stay, they even woke my 10 year old son up. Security were called but they only could do so much. The local beach was not up to much, pebbles and dirty. Would not return back to this hotel, stayed in better. Location is very good, plenty of busses to take you into various parks etc. Stayed in the studio apartment and it was clean & tidy, everything you need for a self catering holiday but you had to rent the fans, microwave etc. this can work out more expensive. I stayed self catering & went to the local shop, around the corner from the Spar as this was very reasonable for everything i needed.

Great place to stay

we had a wonderful stay at this hotel, food was very good, nice choice of hot and salad type meals. staff friendly, pool ok. we didnt have a problem with sunbeds, however im sure if the hotel was at capacity it could be a problem. The only negative was our all inclusive package for drinks, You are not allowed to use the main bar near the entertainment room. This made you feel a second class customer even though you were spending your money before arrival to buy these drinks. I spoke to the manager about this and was advised that he had agreed the all inclusive package price with tour operators and they were aware of the all inclusive facilities on offer and they should pass that information to customers. Everything in consideration i would stay here again. Location is ok, just a steady walk to veronicas one direction, and the other direction takes you to the beach near Med Palace hotel near Los Cristianos beaches. Well worth the money !!

After reading the reviews on the Columbus I was worried as I was travelling solo, on arrival my transfer was waiting for me and I got to hotel at 2.30 am. Room was a studio apartment which I will say was great. I went all inclusive, food great, yes there was a problem with the sun beds, people putting towels on them at 7 am, if they had not come back by 10 am towels were taken off for others to use. People were complaining about the 1 drink per person but with being on my own this did not bother me. There where other solo travellers at this hotel so did not feel alone. Weather great, hotel great, would go and stay here again. I had a fantastic time.

Arrived in Tenerife 10am local time and the travel arrangements organised by alpharooms were impeccable, first class service, no waiting around at the airport and simply no confusion. As to which we were already at the hotel by 10.30am. On arrival we were told we had to wait for our room, but our luggage was looked after, so this was not really a problem as check out time was midday anyhow. Rooms are as you would expect, we were all inclusive but were still supplied with a kettle and other such aminities. All inclusive restaurant was on some days brilliant, but the restrictive times were a bit of a nuisance until we found out that there were snacks such as toasties available free in the bar. Free beer was Amstel so not bad at all, plus there was the option of the standard pay for your drink bar if you fancied a change. Pool was ok, freezing but ok, and the only really annoying part of the holiday was that if you wanted a sunbed then you had to 'claim' one before 8am. On many occasions we were awakened by the sound of people dragging sunbeds into place from 6.30am and placing towels on them. Some people not even using the bed until early afternoon. But this should by no means be a bad reflection on the level of service recieved.
