The Columbia Hotel is located on the north side of Hyde Park, about one mile from Marble Arch where guests will find London's premier shops on Oxford Street and Bond Street. Bus routes and underground stations are close by, with Paddington Station a five minute walk. A short stroll and guests will find themselves in Queensway, a bustling cosmopolitan thoroughfare with diverse restaurants, cafes, shops, pubs, cinemas and a multi-storey shopping centre. In contrast, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens facing the hotel are large. open green areas of peace and quiet in the middle of the city. The Columbia can be easily reached from motorways and main routes into the city, and limited free car parking is available at the hotel.

This is an excellent value for money hotel. It's one of those London hotels with a look of faded luxury in a fabulous Georgian building. The public rooms are grand and impressive. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean, though dated (this all adds to the charm of the place) Continental breakfast and parking was included in the price which was great. Parking limited though (first come, first served). Location was superb - overlooking Kensington Gardens. Right near Lancaster Gate Tube station on the Central Line. Bus stop right outside the hotel and on night bus route too so getting back after the Tube closes was so easy and cheap. You can easily walk to Marble Arch / Oxford Street. I have stayed in many London hotels over the years and mindful of budget limitations, this hotel represents excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again.
