Only stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was 3 nights to many. This hotel does not cater for the English, there is not even a British flag amongst the other european flags. The food was not only revolting but there was very little choice and it was always luke warm. As for the dining room staff I don't think they knew how to smile. The same goes for the bar staff, who could not wait to close the bar on the dot of 11pm . The entertainment I won't even waste my time typing about that.
The only good thing that kept me from looking for another hotel was the people I met there from Salford ,Wales and a couple from london. But for meeting those nine people it would have been even worse.
But there is one thing I can say was was good about the hotel was the great views , as it was on top of a fairly steep hill. So I guess I won't be going to this hotel ever again and I do not recommend it.

Great value for money
15 February 2008
Booked this last minute and were really pleased with it. Clean, comfortable, friendly, with good food and great views across the bay. It's not the height of luxury but it's not as basic as I was expecting, having read other reviews. Half the pool is heated and covered in winter, and there are things like mini golf, table tennis and a football pitch for the kids. Some of these were facilities were looking a little tired, but kids under 11 aren't that fussy so we didn't mind.
We really enjoyed the food. Our younger son is quite fussy but there was always chips and pasta to fall back on! Our elder son ate like a horse.
The complex does have a lot of steps, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, but it didn't bother us at all. It is a steep walk back from the centre of Santa Ponsa but there are plenty of bars and restaurants much nearer if you don't want to go down that far.
Not sure I would want to pay August prices (or have August heat and crowding, for that matter) but for a family winter break it's an excellent choice.

good value but !!

hotel has stunning views across santa ponsa bay. hotel rooms are very basic but clean and look like they are straight out of the 70,s. no air conditioning is a big minus because the rooms were stifling hot in mid summer and the ceiling fans arent strong enough to keep you cool ! meals and drinks were adequate considering what you pay.dont expect many english here as it is very german orientated.

All of us, inc. the two children (4 & 7), paid under £400 for a week all inc in February (during half term) and we thought "It is going to be awful" BUT we really really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel rooms are basic but very very clean. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The food is average but served hot and edible. The all inclusive option even included the cocktails in the bar !!!! Kids were kept happy with all the Ice Cream they could eat. Swimming Pool was lovely and warm. Will stay there again next year. Thank you Alpharooms, you have never let us down. Would definately recommend the "Club Santa Ponsa"

Amazing weather for this time of year, Low 70's and sunny. Hotel has good choice of food, clean accomodation and friendly service. Resort is only part open but as we were fully inclusive this wasnt a problem. The kids club and normal hotel activities were laid on during the day and the swimming pool is covered and warm for a swim as the sun had heated it nicely. Some remedial building work going on but this wasnt a problem. All in all a great winter break.

Only stayed 4 nights, 18-21 dec, 2006 all inclusive. Food was good staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean with tv, fridge, cooker and working central heating. Only downside was the hotel is at the top of a big hill with 15mins walk to main beach.

The hotel is set on top of a hill overlooking santa ponsa beach with quite a spectacular view. The hotel caters for mainly German, Dutch and French people, although there was also one or two groups of English people staying. We paid a really cheap price for the All inclusive option on the pretense that if the food wasn't up to much we would eat out. We ended up having breakfast, dinner, and evening meal at the hotel everyday so good was the selection and quality of food on offer. The hotel rooms are 1970's style and basic but spotlessly clean, we had a two storey apartment with upstairs bedroom/bathroom and balcony. There is a free courtesy bus to santa ponsa beach provided by the hotel that leaves on the hour every hour up until 6pm. For the party goers, Magaluf is 10 minutes away and cost us 10 euro in a taxi from the hotel at 9pm at night. All in all a really nice hotel, with a friendly european atmosphere.

We were impressed with the hotel- our room was huge- a 2 floored apartment with a large bathroom, balcony AND a terrace, plus our own sunbeds. Maid service was good, hotel very clean and staff friendly. The food was very good- wide range of dishes, menu changed every night, lots of fresh veg and meat. Really impressed with the food, I can't think of one meal we didn't like. The views were spectacular- from our room, the pool and the bar/restuarant, as we were overlooking the whole bay.
Plenty of sunbeds and space to lie around both pools, although the best spots were snapped up at around breakfast time! Lots of activities for children, the Reps were good with kids, and the hotel had tennis, pool etc. Didn't really enjoy the adult entyertainment- the Reps were much better at entertaining the kids. Very hilly resort, we are young (early twenties) and the hill from the resort centre up to the hotel wore us out! Very busy resort, lots to do, not far from Magaluf and lots of buses and cheap taxis.
The only downside for us were that although the main areas were air-conditioned, the rooms didnt have air con, but we had a ceiling fan and left the balcony door open which was fine. as there we didn't have problems with mosquitos. (We stayed early Sept '06)
Lots of couples and younger families, more Europeans than British, overall quite a quiet hotel. Would recommend it, and would stay there again- had a wonderful time.

I had stayed here in Feb 2005 and enjoyed it, but wanted to go back when it was warmer. As no British travel agents seem to go there, had to do a search on internet and booked all inclusive rooms and flights seperate. On arrival was allocated an appartment right next to the pool. This was a surprise as I had booked a studio.Appartment was excellent, as was the food and drink all week. The hotel is at the top of a hill, but it was a nice walk down to the beach, and the courtesy bus ran hourly most days to bring you back if you couldn't face the walk. The only thing lacking was the entertainment, but they did try their best! We were the only English people there which at times felt a little isolated but the staff all spoke good English and couldn't do enough for us. Will definately go back next year!

Friendly staff........but we could have done with sherpa to help us to our apartment, as we were at the bottom of the steps. Food and drink OK.

Our first time in a hotel holiday let alone all in as we normally go to villas or apartments. Read other people's not very complimentary reviews on this hotel so arrived quite apprehensive. What a suprise! The Hotel is superb, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was buffet style but what a choice. Remember you are in Spain and they cook food differently to us. One night there was a huge dish of paella which was left untouched by everyone except me. It was delicious. When you go into the restaurant, have a good look both sides of the centre display and be adventurous Self service wine, beer or soft drinks in the dining room at all meals. Marvellous! Only fault we could find was the lack of a decent cup of tea during breakfast but you can't have everything! We enjoyed the walks into the town each day and I would warn you that the hill is very steep to walk up but as we had to walk past the bar on our return I found it very easy to recover with a glass of beer or sangria. The hotel was not very full when we were there (February 2005) but what guests were there were German, a very good sign I believe. We are definately returning next year and look forward to being spoilt again!

15 April 2005
We booked our holiday all inclusive for a short break 10th april 2005-14th april 2005 and we got the holiday for under £"50 each so we were not expecting the Ritz! First impressions were lovely, hotel very clean and the staff were all very helpful during our short stay. The main let down for me was the food as it was always cold! now i know it was buffet style but no matter what time you went it was always cold, The variety is good to cater for all different nationalities which were there but as i say always cold. The Entertainment was of a poor standard but the team in charge tried there best with what they had! All in all I would reccomend the hotel for its good staff and cleaniness but im affraid if i was staying there for a week or more the cold food would get on my nerves! One last point was that during our stay there were 40 french students staying there and they were very loud and and they made us feel very uncomftable for most of the stay (not as relaxing as hoped) We our both mid 20s so we dont mind a luaug but this was too much and did become annoying.

I booked this Hotel all inclusive through alpharooms and booked flight independently. We satyed in a one bed apartment which slept up to 4 people. I did not expect much as it was so cheap and I was only going to get my husbands tobacco. I was really shocked as this was a great hotel - The service was excellent as was the food, Breakfast Lunch and Dinner were all of the same high standard, a real credit to the Hotel. The entertainment was poor, but to be honest we went in November and was happy just having our drinks and watching the world go by. It is up a steep hill, and there are alot of steps, so I would not advise anyone with walking difficulties to go. The hotel seemed to have mostly german guests. This was a great place and I WILL be returnig.

A very plesant hotel with great views of santa ponsa. food was excellent. Nice clean hotel with nice pool area and bar. very cloean. staff were friendly and helpful. rooms were nice and spacious.A steep hill takes you a large shopping area but walk back up the hill is a bit of a trek! courtesy bus is available to the beach. Other resorts like palma nova and palma are within easy reach by taxi or bus. Entertainment lacked something but on the whole a very nice hotel.
