Enjoyable holiday

08 June 2013
The hotel is not plush and we were disappointed on arrival. Our check in was poorly dealt with and we did not get the rooms we were expecting. Having booked 3 adjacent rooms - and paid a solo occupancy supplement - we were told that my (elderly!) Mum would staying in a totally separate apartment block from my family and my sister's family. The Manager was unhelpful and rude and refused to do anything to sort it out. Not a great start. We were in a 12 floor apartment block (Cabrera), which has 2 small lifts, one of which was out of order on a regular basis. Sometimes we had to take the stairs. Fire doors were regularly wedged open, which is presumably against health and safety regulations. The only positive thing I can say is that the rooms were very clean and the maids were excellent. The meals were good, with lots of choices and there were Mexican and Chinese theme nights during our 10 night stay. The bar area was very busy, with only 2 or 3 staff serving, and a 3 drink limit per order. The fact that all drinks were served in small plastic cups, (the kind you get in vending machines), really didn't help. Evening entertainment was very basic, with a children's disco from 8.30 to 9pm, then certificates given out, then some kind of show (parrots, dancing, magician, etc). The bar area is oddly laid out as the stage is lower than the seating area, so unless you get one of the few tables near the stage, or by the bar, you can't really see anyway. There was a quiz evening which was fun. The hotel has 4 pools, and employs life guards, which is impressive. There was a good selection of sun beds and umbrellas available (early June 2013). Our children loved the 3 water slides. The café / snack bar by one of the pools offers a great selection of drinks, nibbles, and snacks at meal times. This included freshly baked biscuits every afternoon, and light meals such as hamburger and chips and salad and fruit at lunch and tea time. There was a hatch for slush and soft drinks so you didn't have to dry off to go inside. We tried the Children's Club once, leaving my daughter and niece (age 7 and 8) for one hour. On our return we were shocked to find the 2 of them alone, playing outside the main Club House on the swings etc, completely unsupervised. The gate wasn't locked and there was nothing to stop them leaving. We didn't use it again. The nearest beach is a 10 minute walk away, but you have to walk down 60 or so steep steps to reach it. It has a small bar and sunbeds for hire. The downside is the one very grim toilet there. There is another beach about a 15-20 minute walk away, which has a bar and there is an excellent self service café for snacks etc. The local shops are excellent, and we found they were cheaper than the market in Manacor. The shopping centre area is quite lively with lots of nice cafes, bars, restaurants, and 2 miniature golf courses.
The best thing about my stay was…
The pools and the poolside snackbar. Good choice for families with young children.

Good 3 star hotel but evening entertainment a let down !!

31 July 2012
Make sure you book transfers as hotel an hour away from the airport and taxi is 70 Euros + for a maximum of 4 people. If 5 in taxi, you have to pay for 2 full price taxis!! Hotel is what you'd expect from a good 3 star. Rooms were cleaned every other day and were standard size. We stayed on the top floor (12th) of the Cabrera block which is the tallest building in the whole resort and views from there are spectacular. Food was fairly varied and always hot and should satisy even the pickiest of palettes. Pool snack bar always well stocked and drinks readilly available throughout the day. Main town centre about 10 minute walk away and has good selection of bars and shops. Beach is a little further away but pretty. Biggest let down was the evening entertainment. Although the reps worked hard all day long with the animation programme, the evening "shows" mainly consisted of handing out certificates and some fairly basic /poor dance routines. Even the snakeman and magician weren't worth watching.
The best thing about my stay was…
Weather, food and resort

Very Good Value for Money

26 June 2012
Once again its only a matter of opinion that decides reviews but I dont really know where those people giving a poor review are coming from.Yes the accomodation blocks need a nit of sprucing up but the overall cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and the staff could not do enough for you. You need to be aware that it is very much a family orientated hotel and as such almost 80% of guests had their offspring with them.Because of this the entertainment leant towards that end of the market although they did try hard.Food and drink were of a very good standard with plentiful and varied amounts of each available. The on site shop was handy if about 25% higher in price than the shops in the resort but still not really a rip off. Resort has that tired look but was also clean and tidy. The upside of the resort was very little traffic however beaches are not very accessable for small children or the elderly and the waves can be very strong. But all in all a good relaxing holiday.
The best thing about my stay was…
The cleanliness and Excellent food and drink also never stuck for a sunbed or a seat in the restaurant

Very Big Complex

05 June 2012
We travelled with a group of 20 - 9 Adults and 11 children. The complex was very big and as a result we were spread across three buildings. We didn't mind that too much, however what did grate on us was the strict policy enforced by the staff on a three drink limit each time you went to the bar. In my opinion this was ridiculous considering my family alone was made up of 2 adults and 4 children so I had to do two runs for beer and soft drinks!! what that’s all about would understand if all alcoholic drinks. I did review this prior to our departure and would agree the rooms are very clean and the food was good value for what you paid - got a little repetitive day in day out so we ate out a couple of nights - never did pizza nite for kids !! Most of the staff were friendly but the bar staff did annoy us as a group on 2 occasions waiting to be served at the bar and they would closed it at 11:45 and not 12 as stated. Also during the Eurovision they turned off the TV in the bar in the middle of the voting (best bit) and told us all to go watch it in our rooms. We kinda just laughed it off as couldn’t actually believe it!! Overall it is good value for money but beware it was busy in May so can’t imagine what would be like in high season. 

Excellent time for a 2 week holiday with my family

18 November 2011
It was the 3rd time in as many years that we have been to this hotel. I have a 16yr old son, a 10yr old daughter and a 2yr old son and there was something for everyone. The food was great. Entertainment was fantastic and close enough to the beach without long travel time. Overall thouroughly brilliant holiday had by all of us.

Clean, Friendly Staff and worth the money!

04 October 2011
For a budget, all inclusive hotel it was good, must be as this was our second visit. Stayed with our family with under 7's and we all enjoyed it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick getaway or full family holiday. Having said that, the resort itself is ageing and is aimed purely at the tourist market. But, with a hire car we could visit the other nearby resorts.
The best thing about my stay was…
Entertainment and BAR staff!

you get what you pay for

03 October 2011
Travelled with 4 adults, two 5 year olds and a 3 year old. Had read previous reviews and was a little apprehensive, had nothing to worry about though. Had a socalled 2 bedroom apartment, it was in fact a 1 bedroom apartment, which was all we wanted, so we cold put the kids to bed in a separate room. The room was spacious and we had clean towels 3 times in the week we were there. For the price we paid I think it was well worth it, nice pools and lots for the kids to do, with a kids club open both mornings and afternoons every day. Evening entertainment also pretty good, and I dont think the language was a problem for most of the kids. They all seemed happy to join in. As we travelled with fairly young children, we didnt get to experience much of the adult entertainment in the evenings, but what we did see, was quite good. The food was ok, again what you can expect for the price you pay-we always found something we liked, and always a good selection of fruit available. The beach is not as close as we had hoped, but as we'd hire a car,, we drove to the nearest (bigger) beach, which was approx 5 mins drive. We had a lovely holiday, and the hotel and its surroundings is great for families. Wouldnt go again as we like to visit different countries, but if anyone asked whether I'd recommend staying there, I most probably would.
The best thing about my stay was…
The pool and the kids entertainment.

Over all a really nice hotel and facilities

05 August 2011
We stayed at Club Eurocalas from 28 July to 4 August. We had a really nice and large apartment on 8. floor in the Mallorca Building with both pool- and sea view. The air condition isn't cooling very much and is a bit noisy. The people at the reception are great and very helpfull with all kinds of different things. The hotel has 4 swimming pools. It's a struggle to get sun beds - many of them are reserved with towels early in the morning - despite the hotel's policy about this - but most of the time we got some anyway. The biggest pool area is also the loudiest of them all - with water slides, music playing all day long and activities for both adults (aqua gym, water polo etc) and children. Can be a bit tiresom to listen to, so we used the pool in front of our building most of the time. The hotel is situated about 500 m from a little beach - Cala Antena - which was really nice with clear blue water. Ideal for children as it didn't get deep. The town is about 800 m away - consists of some bars and souvenir shops etc. Right outside the hotel there is a bus stop. We took the bus to Palma - got on at 9:25 and was in Palma at 11:15, so there are a lot of stops on the way. The bus returns to the hotel at 15:45. It costs 15 € per person over 6 years. We could easily have used more time in Palma. The facilities of the hotel consists of a tennis court, volley ball court, football field, basket ball court etc. - free of charge. We went on an all inclusive basis and the only "bad" thing we can say about our stay is the eating arrangement - it was quite caotic in the restaurant at times and very hot - no air condition. There are waiters to clean up the tables but they do not put new cutlery etc. on, so that we had to get ourselves. The food was ok, but not very variated. We had a lot of pork ... The snack bar and the bar area was fine. Another thing that we found not too great was the evening entertainment. There is a mini disco for the children from 20:30 - 22:00 after which the entertainment for the adults starts. It's quite loud with singing, games etc. If you are looking for a quiet evening in the bar, bar area or on the balcony it is not possible. The music stopped at 24:00. Our children - 10 and 6 years old - enjoyed the parrot show and the show with the wild animals. Also the animators made a Grease Musical which was quite good. Apart from this we didn't watch the evening entertainment. Over all we had a really nice stay at the Club Eurocalas. Family Fogt Denmark
The best thing about my stay was…
Our apartment with a great view over the pool and sea - and the pools :-)

Good holiday with just a couple of irks!

08 July 2011
We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Club Eurocalas. The hotel itself is spread across 5 buildings and we stayed in "Carbera" which was the tall, block of flats type one. The rooms were really big with plenty of room but very little storage so we lived out of our suitcases which wasnt really a problem as there was plenty of floor space. Thankfully we were on the 8th floor and facing the sea so there was always a good breeze on the balcony which was lovely. I have to say that this is one of the quietest hotels (at night) that I have ever stayed in. There were no noisy louts, no drunken fights or people rolling in in the early hours of the morning and if there were we couldn't hear them in our room, we couldnt even hear the people next door - so this was good as you could get to sleep very easily, this might have something to do with the fact that it is a very family orientated hotel with lots and lots of kids so if you want peace around the pool - forget it The rooms were very clean and the housekeepers were in every day which we were amazed at. There are plenty of sun loungers at the pool although you have to be up early to beat the Germans! Even though the hotel says it has a strict policy over keeping sunbeds, they do not enforce it - so if you are awake about 7.30 it pays to get your towels down beside the pool. The couple of irks we had were mainly over the food. Breakfast is really good with lots of variety and even the fussiest eater will find something (we had one of the fussiest eaters with us and she did just fine), at lunchtime we used the snack bar at the pool which was ok they served burgers, chips, salad, fruit etc and again you could always get something to suit. Evening was a different story - if you dont like fish or veal then dont even bother going down for an evening meal! Out of the 10 nights we were there, we had chicken once and roast beef once but fish and veal made an appearance every night in some shape or form. Even though we were all-inclusive and really didnt want to spend money on food we had to eat out on several occasions because we just couldnt face fish again especially as our 13 and 10 year olds wouldnt touch it. The other thing is that this hotel really doesnt cater for the British even in its entertainment and kids clubs which are mostly in German. If you are French, Spanish and particularly German then its fine. Some of the German guests we encountered were so rude and had no manners whatsoever! Beware of the old geezer behind the bar - think he has a grudge against humanity he practically growled at me and then rolled his eyes when I changed my mind from 2 cokes to 3 cokes! We enjoyed our holiday but I wouldn't be advising any of my friends to go to Club Eurocalas and we certainly won't be going back.
The best thing about my stay was…
Quietness of the hotel at night and cleanliness of hotel in general

Absolutely Fantastic

03 July 2011
This is our secondtime to Eurocalas, the hotel is ideal for families with young and teenage children, the pool areas and rooms are really clean. food is more than adequate with quite a choice. Entertainment is not so great, My sons are 12 and 15 and there was so much for them to do during the day with the reps from the hotel, volleyball, water polo, football, tennis.. All in all a great holiday and would definately recommend it to anyone.....

Great Holiday~!

28 June 2011
JUST BACK FROM 10 DAYS IN eUROCALLAS. REALLY LOVELY HOTEL. HAD READ SOME BAD REVIEWS BUT IGNORE THEM ALL!! OUR APARTMENT WAS BIG AND SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. GARDENS/GROUNDS LOVELY.. LOADS OF GORGEOUS TREES AND SHRUBS WHICH MANY PEOPLE LAZED UNDER TO GET AWAY FROM THE MIDDAY SUN. FOUR POOLS!! MY LADS LOVED THE BIGGER ONES AS THEY PLAYED WATER POLO AND WATER VOLLEYBALL IN THEM EVERY DAY. LOVELY SPACIOUS SHALLOW POOLS FOR THE TODDLERS! HUBBY ENJOYED THE ARCHERY AND SHOOTING . THE BOYS PLAYED SOCCER EVERY DAY AND TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENTS . THE USUAL SCUFFLE FOR SUN BEDS EVERY MORNING.. THE MAIN PROBLEM WAS LACK OF UMBRELLAS.. LOADS OF BEDS. THE FOOD WAS SUPER!!! SELF SERVICE RESTAURANT.. LOADS OF CHOICES.. AND STAFF CONSTANTLY TOPPING UP THE TRAYS AS THEY WERE BEING SCOFFED!! MY BOYS LOVED THE SELF SERVICE FIZZY DRINKS TAPS!! WINE, SANGRIA, BEER ON TAP TOO.. JUST HELP YOURSELF. BY DAY THE SNACK BAR BY THE POOL HAD CONSTANT SUPPLY OF SALADS, ROLLS, CHIPS, BURGERS, SAUSAGES, PASTA, FRUIT AND BISCUITS MID AFTERNOON!! WE VE PUT ON POUNDS!! HAVE TO SAY THOUGH THAT THE ENTERTAINMENT AT NIGHT WAS DISMAL!! IF YOU WERE BETWEEN 2 AND 8 IT WAS FINE BUT MY BOYS WERE VERY BORED.. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN AMPLE SUPPLY OF POOL TABLES! ALSO, ONLY HANDFUL OF IRISH THERE.. MAINLY GERMAN, DUTCH, SPANISH AND FEW ENGLISH AND WE WERE THE ONLY IRISH.. SO MY LADS ONLY GOT TO KNOW A HANDFUL OF TEENAGERS . WE STROLLED DOWN TO THE LOCAL COMMERCIAL CENTRE MOST NIGHTS.. 10 MIN WALK.. THE USUAL CLUSTER OF TOURISTY SHOPS .. NOTHING DIFFERENT TO ANY OTHER RESORT IN SPAIN. PUBS AND PIZZA AND CHINESE RESTAURANTS THERE BUT WE CHOSE TO EAT IN EUROCALLAS EVERY NIGHT. NEAREST BEACH IS ABOUT A TEN MINUTE WALK.. ITS A LITTLE COVE.. BUT VERY STEEP STEPS ON TO BEACH.. BEACH WAS LOVELY BUT WE ONLY SPENT ONE AFTERNOON THERE. LOT OF LITTER IN WATER AND NO TOILET FACILITIES ON THE BEACH SO WE CHOSE THE POOL AS THE EASIEST OPTION FOR THE BOYS. ONE DRAWBACK ABOUT EUROCALLAS IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE AIRPORT. WE WISH WE HAD CHOSEN TO TAKE A TAXI BUT INSTEAD WE PAID IN ADVANCE FOR THE COACH TRANSFER. IT TOOK US 2 HOURS TO GET TO OUR HOTEL BECAUSE OF ALL THE HOTELS HE HAD TO DROP IN ON WAY TO OURS AND IT TOOK US 3 HOURS TO GET BACK TO AIRPORT!! HOWEVER, THE PEACE AND QUIET AND DISTANCE FROM THE MADNESS OF SANTA PONSA AND ALCUDIA ETC. WILL SUIT MANY SO IF YOU HAVE VERY YOUNG KIDS.. GO FOR IT!! PS. FORGOT TO MENTION THE WATER AEROBICS IN POOL EVERY MORNING.. THANKS martina! ALSO, BIG THANKS TO JEFFREY FROM HOLLAND .. GREAT FUN GUY .. MY LADS HAD LOADS OF FUN WITH HIM X

THE POOLS AND THE FOOD!

Hotel Good resort to quiet

23 June 2011
Just arrived back from the eurocalas. The hotel itself i cannot fault. The rooms were clean more spacious then a few hotels i hjave stayed. The food was not 5star but there is a variety. The snackbar at the pool was nice and easy acess to drinks and food all day. The majority of bar staff however and the entertainers were not as freindley with the english as they were with the germans. If you like alot of english holiday makers in ur complex this hotel is not for you as the english are the minority. If you have a small chid like we did make sure you take a buggy as the shops are around 15-20minutes walk from the hotel as are the beaches which have lots of steps to tackle. Overall the stay was gud dont think it would have been as gud if we hadnt of met some great people.

Great place to go

09 June 2011
We have just returned from a 11 night stay and we had a lovely time. It was very misleading as we were told it was a 2 bedroom apartment. But it was one bed and 2 beds in the front room , bit it was very spacious and very clean. The staff were lovely and the animation team work very hard to entertain you all. Jeffrey was lovely too xx

Good family break

09 June 2011
Good hotel for family with small children, good play area and food was good with a reasonable amount of variety. Evening entertainment was mixed with some excellent and some not so good. Our only real complaint was that we booked a two bed apartment when it turned out to be a 1 bed apartment with a single pull out bed and another single camp bed set out in the living space - when we queried this with the staff they said they didn't have any 2 bed apartments so this is very misleading.
The best thing about my stay was…

Disappointing Holiday.

22 May 2011
Stayed at the eurocallas first week of may.Found the food to be cold, had to call the rep in to sort it out, which she tried to but in vain.Step daughter had an infestation of ants in her bathroom which had to be sorted out.TV sets had buttons missing, which was a shame because the entertainment was a bit naff.Brochure was not accurate regarding location and accessability of beaches.Could do with a holiday after this to be honest.

Great Holidays

19 May 2011
We get exactly what we expected to get. Room nice light and clean. Food fine, Everybody can find something good (big sort of type of food). Snack bar open to eat and drink in a meantime. Completely no problem with food quality or quantity. Drink bar open till late night with very nice service (Thanks Dani !!!). You can drink as much you can huge sort of drinks. Hotels Activity Stuff made very big effort to keep guests busy - show every night. Kid were very happy there and for sure not bored. Huuuge weakness is lack of WiFi Internet connection available. Only 2 paid PC available in bar. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

Friendly, clean but noisy for those without children

26 October 2010
Just returned from a lovely week in Mallorca. The hotel was clean, there was plenty of choice of food to suit everyone and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a wide mix of nationalities who stay at this hotel, and along this coast generally and they are all very well catered for, by the languages spoken by the staff and the food on offer. The only downside was that there were a lot of children at the resort, even at this time of year, and for someone not travelling with children there did not seem to be any quieter areas where you could escape from them! Perhaps they could consider keeping just a small bar and/or entertainment area for the adults.
The best thing about my stay was…
Good location, clean hotel, friendly staff
