Smart Hotel Good Vlaue

20 April 2008
Although away form the city centre it is only a short walk to the station for trains into the city which only take 20 minutes. Well located for airport just 3kms away - When you arrive at airport go to the front of the taxi rank where you will find the hotel courtesy bus stand and the phone number for the hotel free bus service. They also return you to the airport on departure -book it when you arrive. Rooms are large clean and well serviced with free soft drinks on arrival. Breakfast is very good with large choice of hot and cold food. Avoid instant coffee machine. There is a second machine which gives fresh coffee from the bean - a nice touch and unusual for a Spanish hotel. Friendly well trained staff who make you very welcome. A good value Pizza restaurant can be found 50m from the hotel (Turn right as you leave the reception) Will use the hotel again - Ideal for overnight stay or short break.

excellent barcelona hotel

19 February 2008
Hotel staff are really helfpul, beginning with the free collection from the airport (and free return also). Room was good and very clean. Free soft drinks in mini-bar was a good idea (replenished every day) and supermarket round corner a good place to stock up on cheap extra water/juice etc. Breakfast in hotel is excellent, and dinner extremely good value as wine/water coffee etc. all in cluded. Swimming pool small, but good, as with gymn. A short walk to the RENFE station for direct trains to centre of Barcelona (approx. 15 minutes). Much quieter and more pleasant than many places we saw in centre of town. Really enjoyed our stay and recommended as a quiet base for Barcelona visit.

City break - 3 days

14 January 2008
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The only thing that lets it down is the location - which is pretty much one of the key defining factors of a hotel on holiday. It is situated on a building site in an Industrial Estate located in the middle of nowhere. The walk to the Metro takes 15 minutes which is a pretty scary journey when it gets dark - not great for women travellers. On the metro it is around 20 mins to Barcelona. To get to Girona Airport requires a long laborious journey to the Centre and the then several transfers on the underground to finally find a bus to go to the hour away airport. I was fairly excited by the hotel indoor pool - however since this was the size of a match box I decided to give the 'paddling pool' a miss. Good hotel overall but would never stay there again :(

birthday break

27 September 2007
i took my daughter away for few days to celebrate her 36th birthday. she loves history and arcitect , sightseeing and shopping , nice street cafe bars. Barcelona was just perfect. This hotel was excellant. A nice 10 min stroll to train station. Just 2.50 euro return each and reg.trains. hotel in local area so shops and restaurants so much cheaper than the city. Pizza restaurant 100 yrds away , you just have to go there, fantastic. Buy a 2 day tour bus ticket to see the sights or you miss so much. We would def. stay at this hotel again, cant fault it. lovely spacious rooms and no noise at all from outside. plenty choice at breakfast. 10 out of 10 from us.

Aug 07 4 day break

12 August 2007
Picked up/dropped off at airport on free shuttle bus, between terminals B/C/ Hotel was very good. Breakfast excellent. Complimentary soft drinks in mini bar, usual shampoos, shoe shine razors et seq provided. Although a 5-10 min walk to Train station, trains every 15 mins (lines 2&10). Journey only 15 mins to Passeig De Gracia bang in centre. Cost £1 return if buying T10 tickets (10 trips E6.90). Card can be used for both people on same trip, just put in machine twice. Barcelona is a fantastic city, with loads to see. 2 day tour bus best way to see it (euros23). Would definitely stay at hotel again. Area around is industrial but non-threatening. Some nice cafes & Patisseries nearby. Only 10 mijs from airport. I would recommend

weekend break

26 April 2007
we were extremely pleased with the facilities offered by the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and coped with our very limited spanish. The mini bar was useful but there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The area around the hotel was industrial but there were plenty of bars and resturants in the immediate vicinity but you do need to be able to have some knowledge of spanish to get the best out of these facilities. Excellent pizzeria 50 yds from hotel that cooks on open log fire fascinating to watch. The meals in the hotel were excellent, the choices at breakfast were numerous in very pleasant surroundings. If you travel into Barcelona by metro it costs approx £1and you need to alight at Santes for the shopsor Pg.deGraciafor the museums or the tourist buses. We would stay there again if we visited Barcelona.

Review of 'CIUTAT DEL PRAT'

15 November 2006
Hotel was clean and had good facilities including a pool and sauna (we couldnt find the jacuzzi!).
The free minibar (soft drinks) and selection of toiletries including toothbrushes, shaving kit etc were a nice touch and the breakfast was good.
The hotel is a bit out of the centre of town so you need to get a train from El Prat station (a five min stroll from the hotel) which takes 10 mins to get to centre. The only down side of this was that the last train leaves the centre just after 11pm so if you want to stay out later you need to get a night bus or taxi back to the hotel.
I would recommend this hotel to others as it was certainly excellent value for money.

Only stayed one night for a stopover.  The free 24 hour shuttle makes it very convenient though you do have to call the hotel when you get to the airport to have them pick you up.  They take about 5-10 minutes to get to the shuttle bus stop.  The rooms were clean and quiet.

The hotel was immacalent. The reception and bar staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The down side to the hotel was it was a fifteen minute train ride to the ramblas, a iron was not provided however once asked for it was provided within minutes and finally there was no satelite tv.  The hotel have a free tarnsfer service to the airport. Overall i had a very pleasant stay at the hotel

Review of 'CIUTAT DEL PRAT'

04 July 2006
As a group of 6 females (age range 19 - early 40's), we found Ciutat Del Prat to be a great hotel.  The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Francesco who went out of his way to assist when we enquired about Tennis matches and Barcelona Football Stadium 'Nou Camp'. There was a courtesy bus which took us from the airport to the hotel and back again. The rooms were clean, adequately sized, had a selection of free soft drinks in the mini-fridge.

Breakfast was good, there was a large selection to choose from which included fresh fruit, cereal and fried breakfast - the only thing missing was baked beans!

Yes, the hotel is situated in a semi-industrial estate but the train station is only 5 minutes away and Barcelona centre is 3 stops away.  We felt completely safe walking through the area both night and day.

The swimming pool, jacuzzi & sauna proved a refreshing treat on the one evening that we did use it.

Overall, Ciutat is great value for money, we recommend it highly and would stay there again.

Review of 'CIUTAT DEL PRAT'

30 May 2006
The staff at CIUTAT DEL PRAT were friendly and knowledgeable, and many had a working knowledge of English. Check-in and check-out went off without a hitch, thanks to Toni and Jordi. Most important to me and my fellow travellers, however, was that we were able to arrange the shuttle to the airport for our departure flight. The hotel's location, while not great for siteseeing, is ideal for airport access. Its neighborhood is a semi-industrial one but as is the case with most of BCN, there are numerous shops, eateries, pubs and pharmacies within walking distance.

The facility is quite clean and tastefully furnished, is WiFi equipped, has a very decent if not stellar restaurant, and provides a pleasant indoor pool. My downgrade from 5 to 4 is based on the inadequacy of the sauna and jacuzzi, neither of which are up to par. The rooms' minifridges are stocked with free beverages which most guests will want to make use of as the tap water is flat and unappealing.

Having stayed at other facilities in BCN, a notoriously overpriced city in regards to hotel accomodations, I can attest that CIUTAT DEL PRAT gives extremely good value for the money, and wholeheartedly recommend it for business travelers, or as a base for vacationers departing via BCN airport.
